View 3 RepliesI'm having a tough time with VPNing into work.I'm the network admin.I set up the Windows 2003 RRAS server. I'm finding that the remote clients have "either / or" connectivity.Once a client is connected, it either has local Internet without LAN resources OR it has the needed LAN resources but no local Internet.I can watch continuous pings work, fail and start up again depending on the VPN connection.

what I need to add to get the vpn client to be able to ping the router and clients?
I'm having trouble setting up local LAN (reach inside network when VPN connected) and Internet access (reach internet when VPN connected) for my VPN CLients when they are connected to my VPN, They can connect, no problem there, but I can't reach any resources when connected. My pings time out, both to my inside network and to public ip adresses, the only thing I'm able to ping is my ASA (172.16.30.1), and I don't se any routes under "Status/Statistics/Route Details" in my cisco VPN Client (when connected).

I have a 5508 WLC and 40+ LAP1142N APs spread across 19 locations that allows staff to connect to our private network via wireless. I recently deployed about 40 new laptops all identical make and model HP ProBook 4530's and all have the same client setup for the wireless. Out of those 40 laptops I have 4 that will not connect to the private network. However, these same laptops will connect to my public, open wireless network without issue. In addition to the 4 that will not connect all the others will prompt twice for network authentication. Now, I have about 10 other laptops that are not the HP model and all connect without issue and without dual propt. I don't think this is a wireless network issue but could be some type of issue with this model of laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are deploying BYOD with Cisco ISE 1.1.2 and WLC (5508) using 802.1x authentication.Windows clients cannot connect to 802.1x SSID with the following error on ISE:Authentication failed : 12321 PEAP failed SSL/TLS handshake because the client rejected the ISE local-certificate
The client doesn't have preconfigured wifi profile or root certificate installed. The concept of BYOD suppose that you can connect your device without any installed certificates and preconfigured wifi-profiles.
The problem is that Windows 7 supplicant does not send TLS alert in pop up window, when connecting to 802.1x SSID.If this alert is seen, than you can accept it and proceed the connection. After that you will be asked to install ROOT-cert, get your own cert and etc.So, the question is: how to make the windows supplicant to show the pop-up window with TLS alert?
p.s. the attached file shows the example of pop up TLS-alert window
I just did a fresh install of xp on a work computer(virus, nasty stuff), and now it will not connect to our office network. I've had to do this before, and we had an outside guy come in. He took two seconds in the cmd prompt and fixed it. I've reinstalled all the drivers and I did a network diagnostic. The only spot it's showing a fail is at the dnssearchorder

I setup RA-VPN under local asa 5510 IP pool (192.168.127.0/24) and all was working fine. I got internet and local network access.
Then i have 5 site to site VPN working fine but when im traying to access to those L2L VPNs from the remote acces client im not able to do that. So after that i decided to obtain IP addresses from my DHCP server so i can obtain IPs from my local network (172.17.16.0/16) and then access normally to the VPN site to site. But the surprise was that the VPN cisco client is getting local IP address (172.17.16.222) perfectly but im not able to access even to my local network.
I have the same-security-traffic permit inter-interface same-security-traffic permit intra-interface enable.
Once a client connects to my VPN (VPN Client 5) they can not see anything other than the outside interface. If I ping anything on the LAN for example I get a reply from the outside interface. I can not see any WAN either (even by IP) My LAN clients can see the clients within the VPN Pool. I would like all traffic to flow through the VPN. I have tried split tunneling to verify if the internet would work and local lan would stay connected. It does work but I was still unable to access anything on the remote netwok. I am not sure if I am missing a nat command or something simple.
The current setup is as follows. 881 Router with windows 2008 radius authentication. The client is authenticating and reciving an IP address from the local ip pool. Please see below for the running config.

I want to setup a DC++ HUB for sharing data within the university local network. We have addresses of the form 172.31.*.*. These addressed are accessible within the university bu non routable outside on the internet. My plan is to setup a local HUB for DC++ for sharing data within the university intranet. So even if internet is unavailable data can be exchanged through LAN. This HUB must not be accessable outsied the university network.how should I do this all..implementing network sharing other than DC++. My basic idea is that everybody can share their data and the data is searchable from one common interface( Web interface is better option, if possible). And data featching should prefferably be from many hosts, using multiple connections so that speed can be improved..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a home network running all Mac computers (though can run Windows VM if necessary) and a pair of USB printers. The wireless router and cable modem are in one room, but the printers are in another. I'd like to find the most practical way to add the printers to the local wireless network without sharing them from a computer. I've tried that for a while, but don't want to leave a laptop connected 24/7 just to enable wireless printing (rather defeats the purpose of a portable computer). I don't have any wired network lines in the home, and am not excited by the idea of running any cables.

I just purchased a WAP 321 and followed the setup wizard. Its powered by a poe switch. The issue I have is no clients can connect to it. I updated the firmware. I reset to factory and tried setting it up manually till no one can connect. I dont understand what im doing wrong here. Unless its a bad unit. I will have about 10 to 15 clients connecting to it. Its the only ap in the building.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically, yesterday while hanging some 3602's going to a different controller, I started getting task reports of wireless phones not working. However, due to the area of complaint I mistakenly assumed it was due to me causing havoc in the area with AP replacements. Then the issues started to spread with Carts and Cow's and other various devices not able to connect until it started affecting me. I was not able to connect to any SSID at all, kind of nerve racking when you talking ICU/NICU area's in a hospital. Once I got to a wired device, my first thought was to move the AP's to a different controller to at least try and get things back up and then work on the controller to see what was going on. However, in trying to get the AP's to move, most of them wouldn't. In hind sight, I wish I had just shut off the etherchannel port on the 6500 that this wlc is on and force the AP's to move that way, but with people standing over me I ended up just rebooting the controller. Of course, once it came back up the AP's reattached to it but everything was working fine. I went ahead and moved the AP's off of it to another controller for now but am searching for answers. About to start digging into bug reports, but am concerned with this line of code causing the issue and worried about moving to 7.2.110.

There is a device which is connected to the PC via Lan. I have an exe file which is supposed to get connected to that device and perform some operations. However, the problem is, the exe file tries to connect to the local host ip address 127.0.0.1 and i cant change the ip since it's been coded. So, I'm wondering if i can use the device connection (which already has a different ip like 169....) as a local host connection. So whenever it tries to connect to the loopback 127... it automatically connects to the external device.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi purchased vaio with win8. Under network icon, I can not see any other computers in the local network therefore not able to access shares unless i explicitly map the shares which is tedious.
On other computers running win7 and xp, each of them can see each other under network icon. However that is not the case with my laptop running 8. Actually i have seen once or twice all pc-s show up but most of the time, they dont appear.
I read somewhere that following service need to be checked to make sure they are running: upnp, ssdp in services. I checked those and they are all running.
I also enabled "turn on network discovery" under network and sharing->advanced sharing. setting. To make it more complicated there are private and public and all network setting. I enabled all items as follows:
1. Private Turn on network discovery is checked along with Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices Turn on file and printer sharing is selected Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections is selected.
2. Guest or public Turn on network discovery is selected Turn on file and printer sharing is selected.
With these settings I still dont see the local computers and their shares. Do I need to check anything else?
I have a Netgear WNDR4500 running the stock firmware, acting as a router for my home. I also have 2 routers that are flashed with DD-WRT (Linksys WRT54G and Asus WL-520GU) running as client bridges. The Netgear is 192.168.1.1 and the other 2 client bridges are 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.10.3. The Netgear router is performing DHCP giving addresses from 192.168.10.100 to 192.168.10.254. I have numerous machines connected to the Netgear, wirelessly and wired, and numerous machines wired to each client bridge. All machines have IP addresses that are 192.168.10.100, 192.168.10.101, 192.168.10.102, etc... Everything is working fine, but I have one question: When I access the Netgear router, it shows the client bridges as clients, machines that are wired and wireless to the Netgear router are listed as clients, but the client list does not show any clients that are connected to the client bridges. I assumed that since the router is performing DHCP that all clients would show up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to know why all my wifi client connect only in G protocol, even if the wireless card supports N, even if all the AP in one of my buildings is AP3500. In the WCS config for my two WISM controller the 802.11a network status is disable, the 802.11n network status is enable and the 802.11b/g Network status is enable and 802.11g support is enable. even in that part of config the 802.11n is enable.
In the High throughput 802.11n section all the rates is check to be supported.
What config I'm missing to get my 802.11N client to get connected with this protocol and not on G protocol.
I have an ASA 5505 that has had a working configuration with several AnyConnect clients using dual authentication for weeks now. My normal process for adding new users has been to configure the user in both authentication databases and the onboard certificate authority, have the user connect to the outside IP of our firewall with IE, download the P12 cert after entering their OTP and then connecting once the cert's imported to download AnyConnect.
I had to add a new user a couple days ago and curiously IE (8) on their computer could not connect to the outside interface of our firewall, as if the laptop had no internet connectivity. I could telnet to port 443 from a command-line, and could even hit it with Firefox (which I ended up doing to download the P12 cert...). I can hit other SSL-enabled and standard websites from IE as well as Firefox. In addition, because AnyConnect seems to rely on the same mechanism to connect as IE does, AnyConnect can't connect either.
I then tested using a previously working laptop fully configured with AnyConnect and a certificate and now it can't connect. There are other previously working laptops that still work, which only makes the issue more clouded.
In watching the logs on the firewall, when one of these non-working computers attempts to connect they hit the firewall, a connection is opened and the SSL handshake is started, but it's never finished and the connection is torn down. Working computers complete the handshake as expected and a tunnel is opened.
I've checked IE forums for this issue and none of the fixes found therein seem to apply or work. Since this issue seems to only affect IE and AnyConnect's ability to connect to my firewall I have to assume the issue is there.
What's wrong with this config ? Clients can see the wireless ssid's but cant connect.

I have a 4402 which is connected to a 4506 Switch int Gig 3/1 via a trunk port. The Managment and AP-manger interfaces are on vlan 6 [code] I have a 1142N AP also connected to the switch and it pulls a DHCP IP Address and configs etc and registers to the WLC. It too is on Vlan 6 and it is connected to the 4506 on int gig 4/33 which is an access port. [code] I am doing local authentication, so i have added users to the WLC.. My problem is that the first client that connected was able to get an IP address and connect to anything internal and external.I then connected another client on another laptop and that client could connect but not get an IP address, it just self assigned. When i look at the clients i can see the MAC address of both Clients on the WLC, but doing a show mac address-table dynamic i only see the MAC of the client that works properly. The client that doesnt get an IP has no entry in the 4506 switch.I am stumped, from what I understand, is that the 2nd clients traffic is being trunked to the WLC , hence it has the MAC address. But I dont know why its not getting a DHCP assigned IP address.
