Cisco Routers :: Linksys Wireless-g Broadband Wrt54g Wifi Protected Setup

Apr 10, 2012

I am using a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router(Model WRT54G). I am trying to set up a desktop computer to have a wireless usb adapter running so I can connect to the Wireless-G Broadband Router. When I run the setup CD for the wireless usb adapter it asks me to push the Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button on the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router.

I have looked at the Linksys router found an obscure button on the front with the Cisco Systems Copyright logo on it.  I pushed this but the wireless usb adapter failed to locate the wireless network.  There is also another button on the back of the Linksys Router that is a Reset button.

Laptop Won't Connect To Wifi When Network Is Protected

Apr 23, 2011

I am unable to get my laptop to connect to the internet when my wifi network has any type of security option or authentication selected. i want to password protect my network and it shows that the network name and passphrase i selected are correct on the router setup page. I can connect to wifi just fine when there is no authentication set on the network, but when I change it to WPA2 or WEP or any type of security on the router setup page, my laptop is able to find the network and connect with local only access. it gives me the option to reset the network adapter or generate a new ip address, but the problem still persists, and the connection only works when there is no password. is it my laptop or the router that is the problem. it has worked previously with a different router with password security.

TP LINK TD 8812 - Protected Object And Can't Connect To Modem's Gateway

Jun 27, 2012

I have somthing to ask about the ADSL modem and wifi router. (I am using Windows Xp) I have 1 ADSL modem, TP LINK TD 8812, with 2 port, LAN and USB, on the modem has 5 blinking lights, USB, LAN, ADSL, Internet and Power, I use USB port for my laptop, so that 4 lights were turned on, except the LAN's, I also have a wifi router, TENDA w316r, which is connect to the modem by LAN port, when it's connected, the LAN's light in the moden will turn on. That's what it usually works. But now, when I connect the router to the moden, the LAN's ligh on the modem just flashing then turn off right away, it works fine on different machine. I don't know why, I think it's software problem. What do you guy's think about that ? About the gateway, the modem has 1 gateway, the router has 1 gateway, too. At first, when I connect the router, I can only access to the router's gateway, when I disconnect the router, I'm back to the moden's router, how to fix that ? I want to sefl control which gateway I can connect. And now, I just can't connect to any of the 2 gateway, the router's gateway, since the LAN's light on the moden not turned on, I think that's where it begins. But the modem's gateway ? I can connect to the internet as usually but I can't access to the modem's gateway, whenever I type "" (modem's default gateway) a window appears (Authentication Required) then I fill the username and password with the right infomation, then click ok but it still appears after and after and after that, when I click cancel, then browser says "Protected Object" and I can't connect to modem's gateway.

My understanding is that for ASA 8.4.1 and prior, there's a vulnerability that opening many ssh sessions and one of them times out, the firewalls crashes!
As we have many customers with ASA using 8.2.5(26) (for example) I'd like a confirmation that for fixing that bug I need to upgrade my ASA image to at least 8.4.x.Case that, I believe that all the former firewall configuration must be reviewed because 8.2.x version has many different commands that 8.4.x (for example, NAT)

Since we are running SubPackages, do we need to upgrade all SubPackages (I.E. complete IOS upgrade) of can we just upgrade the vulnerable SubPackage? How do you determine which SubPackage contains the SSHv2 application?

When this software is point to switch, the process of the switch will next to 100% and reset. The software only do a listening on the ports to see what ports are opened and the switch should not reset because this. Bellow is the log os switch on the moment of test; we note that the processess 'HTTP' rise moments before the switch reset. I disable the HTTP service on switch but the problem persist. The network itself isn't password-protected, so this is a problem within MY computer. Allow me to reiterate my issue in case there was any ambiguity. I accidentally checked some box that put a password on a normally non-password-protected network.

Cable Modem: Need To Be Protected

Aug 21, 2012

I was wondering is it OK if I leave on my cable modem constantly? I have it plugged in to a surge protector as well as other things including my laptops accessories as well. I work from home so I need to be protected, anyway I read from one source that you should keep the cable modem on as it is too much of a hassle to turn it off and then turn it on as the network could get delayed for a couple minutes or something? Also I read as well though that you should turn off the cable modem once a month or something to clear out memory? Is that correct? I leave my computer laptop on all the time with an exception of one day a week. I turn it off for 8 hours supposedly I read it is good for cleaning out memory etc.

Cisco :: How To Force Tunnel

May 30, 2012

I have my Router, not asa, with IOS Easy VPN Server established. If I use split tunneling my clients can access the net all day long and access hosts and resources over the VPN on the other side of the network as if it were plugged into the lan. The hard part I cant figure out is how to force tunnel. I want all internet access to go through the router and not to split tunnel in addition I want to retain the ability to access local resources as if I were plugged into the LAN. I have security reasons for doing this and I am not worried about a little extra load on the router. Let me know where to start looking. I can provide configs if necessary. If I do be warned I am trying to learn what all this nifty Cisco Config Pro GUI can do so my config is gonna be full of all kind of stuff that is messy. I wont post unless asked.
