When the Wrt600N came out, it was said that the "Reserved" button would be enabled by a future firmware upgrade to support WiFi Protected Setup. Surely in the three or so years this has come to pass.Does anyone have a link to information on using WPS with the WRT600n?
Is WRTU54G-TM affected by Wi-Fi Protected Setup security vulnerability? Device is not mentioned on this list: url..If yes, can it be fixed or is device bricked?
I have bought a new WRT54G2 router since the old one broke down. When I log into the 192.168...and click wireless, it takes me to this window that says Searching for your Client Device....If you haven't clicked wi-fi protected setup button please do so now. It's stuck at 98% and I click on the bottom middle button with the 2 arrows constantly and nothing is happening.
I am using a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router(Model WRT54G). I am trying to set up a desktop computer to have a wireless usb adapter running so I can connect to the Wireless-G Broadband Router. When I run the setup CD for the wireless usb adapter it asks me to push the Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button on the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router.
I have looked at the Linksys router found an obscure button on the front with the Cisco Systems Copyright logo on it. I pushed this but the wireless usb adapter failed to locate the wireless network. There is also another button on the back of the Linksys Router that is a Reset button.
My DSL Modem connected right now to Linksys Model: WRT600N (Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router) to give a wireless internet access in my house. I have TWO spare Linksys Wireless Router (WRT350N-Wireless-N Gigabit Router) and (WRT54G2-Wireless-G Broadband Router) that I need to use to expand my wireless network at home.
How can i connect the two routers to became an access point or range expander to existing router. It is possible the two spare routers became an access pt or expander? How can i configure that? Cable configuration?
When adding a device that has a web protected setup button, can I use the web protected setup button on my Linksys E2000 router to set up the device even though I setup up my router using the Manual setup on the Web Interface configuration?
WiFi Protected Setup is turned ON.I would like to know if it is affected by the new disclosed vulnerability described here:[URL] Also, turning WiFi Protected Setup OFF may not assist to mitigate this vulnerability?
On Page 16 of my N600 DB manual it says that below the "Router Status Light" and above the "WPS" letters there is a "Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) Light and Button". When I look at my router all I see in this space is a raised rectangular plastic strip. Should I have a light and button there?
I have a WRT600N dual band router and have only been able to connect to the 5Ghz when it's network mode was set to mixed. I also have a Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card. When setting the Network mode on my router to Wireless N-Only I am unable to connect to the network. I have been searching all over the internet for how to fix this, but none of the answers suit me. I have my network security set to WPA2 with an AES encryption, like people keep saying so I know that is not the problem. Others say that I need to set my wireless adapter to N-Only as well, but I have not been able to find anything in Google that shows me how this is done. The driver version for my adapter is 5.60.48.18 and is up to date according to Windows.
I try to connect my mac via WiFi I got connection timeout; with my android it keeps trying to connect without success (I didn't change passwords or anything these days). If I choose to connect via guest network everything goes fine. The only way to make it work as expected is to reboot the router.it's a X2000 with latest firmware (2.0.3)?
I have been using a Lenovo W510 laptop with an Intel wireless adapter (Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN). The download speed has been 15-18 mbps on my home network. I just bought a new Lenovo W520 with a Lenovo wireless adapter. The download speed is about 1 to 1.5 mbps. What changes should I make to the router settings so that it communicates properly with the Lenovo wireless adapter?
I have a Telus modem, that is hard wired to a siemens wireless router. The telus modem assigns addresses to the siemens router in 192.168.254.* address range. There are a lot of other siemens routers operating in my neighbourhood and I keep getting kicked off.So I want to connect my MacBook Pro wirlessly through the linksys WRT600N on the 5GHz band.I've disabled the 2.4Ghz band.
I'm having problems with the access restrictions feature on the WRT600N. I do have the latest firmware upgrade, which was released in 2008 I believe. Anyways whenever I totally block a PC from the internet either by MAC or by IP, it affects the internet on the rest of the house. Logins to sites do not work right. Logouts from do not work right. Different features of different sites will not work properly. There also will be a lag sometimes when entering the url for a new site. But as soon as I turn the access restriction off, everything goes immediately back to how it should be working.
I have a WRT600N router. I have one PC that is connected to the router via a wired connection. I also have an iPad (3rd generation) that is connected to the router via a wireless connection. On my PC, I went to speedtest.net and determined that I am receiving like 20MB downloads via the wired connection. However, my iPad only gets approximately less than 2 MB download speeds. I have tried reseting the router and I do have what I believe to be the latest firmware update (Firmware Version: 1.01.36 build 4). I also receive the slow download speeds when I try connecting the other wireless devices. I assume my problem has to do with some sort of configuration setting found in the router configuration page (http://192.168.1.1/). The router is only a few feet away from my iPad so the signal strength is strong. I just don't understand why I'm receiving such slow wireless download speeds.
I cannot upload files through http (e-mail attachments, send images to Facebook, send file to virustotal.com) with Linksys WRT600N router. When I remove connection cable from router and place directly in a computer, everything works just fine. I am using last firmware upgrade.
I fought my ISP (frontier) for weeks trying to get their 7500 DSL/modem/router configured in bridge and working into the WRT600N. Finally gave up and put a new Engenius EVR100 behind the 7500 bridge and it came up fine in 10 mins. Now I would like to use my old WRT600N downstairs as a second router and run it in the range of the Engenius DHCP, with DHCP turned off in the WRT600N.
My question is this ... Do I set the WRT600N as a static IP address and use an address in the range issued by the EVR100?And, if so, what would the sub-net mask, default gateway and DNS numbers be? Also would the router address itself (lets say I use 192.168.0.120 from the EVR100 range) be different then the static IP address?
I am using a linksys wrt600N with easylink advisor version 1.6.0042. I am trying to install a video camera and the instruction manual says under "known issues": LinkSys routers have a factory default setting in the firewall menu called "filter anonymous internet requests". If you want to access your camera from the internet you have to uncheck this option."I see this option in the WRT600N manual, but it references a software choice that I don't have.I have gone to the website and downloaded the latest compatible software version, and I still don't have the choice to uncheck this option.
I have the latest flash installed. I am making use of all the options available to this router. USB drive set up as a file server, both radio bands have devices which attach. All wifi security is wpa2 with a complex key string. Also have pc’s attached to all lan ports. I also have all the wireless devices registered on the mac address filter for access set to enable/allow. I have a total of 9 mac address in the list. One lan device is on the DMZ. One address is reserved. Not sure what other details you need.Router is used for online gaming, video streaming, and typical internet browsing.
The standard Verizon router doesn't have Wireless N capability, so I got the WRT600N (first floor) a while back and connected it to one of the ports on the Verizon router (basement). I have the wireless turned off on Verizon router. My problem is that anything connecting to the WRT600N has extremely intermittent connectivity.
Ok, so I reset the router but i still can't login to the setup using the factory password (admin/admin) (blank/admin) (admin/blank). Now I have an unencrypted network and no access to the setup... I even tried using the setup CD but it doesn't recognize the router.
Let's say I have 3 APs, all connected to a WLC 5508,Each AP has a computer that is connected to it, Computer A, B and C, all on the same Vlan with same SSID
Is it possible to configure so
A and B can not talk to each other but both can talk to C ?
Something like "protected port" feature in the switch world.
I just installed my Linksys E1000 and it seemed really easy. I allows the Guest Option, named the Network and put in a network Password. When I try to connect the phone, I don't get the screen on the phone that asks for the PW. I can connect as a guest, but it does connect with out even asking the guest password.
i have a E2000 rounter . It's brand new. But i can't setup to use wifi. the software cisco connect can't find rounter. When i plug blue cab from e2000 to my ethernet port on my laptop , icon's network appearen " limit ".
Model wrt54gsWindows xpI got the wireless network setup and password protected and my computer and phone can sign o the wireless network, but when I try to go to a website it doesn't work. If I connect te computer directly to the modem then it works.
My E4200 settings show both the 5.8GHZ and 2.4GHZ channels to be active, with SSID's displayed. However, when I look for available networks via my laptop(s)/tablets, etc, only the 2.8GHZ channel is visible. I've tried changing various settings and even updated the firmware but nothing has changed.
In addition my "guest" portal displays as not being password protected, even though it is setup for password protection in the E4200 menu.I've rebooted the router several times, but nothing has changed. The 5.8GHZ channel is not visible. The router is also performing frequent random disconnects, but that appears to be a separate issue, based on other posts.
I bought wrt54g2 several years ago and everything worked fine until this week. I got trouble with this router now.All the computers at my home couldn't access to this router even just connect to router's setup page at 192.168.1.1. The only way go to setup page through LAN Cable .I'm afraid maybe there's interference channel with my neighbor, then I did some change to router channel already, but the result same. I still couldn't access to the router through WIFI
Fyi, I did upgrade the firmware with the latest one and all the computers distance to the router not more then 5 m and in the clear area
i have a Linksys modem BEFSR81 v.3 and am trying to reset my wifi password for secure connection. When i log into the the admin page, to my surprise, I could not find the security feature to create WPA or WEP password. i'm stumped. This has never occurred to me before on this modem.
I am unable to get my laptop to connect to the internet when my wifi network has any type of security option or authentication selected. i want to password protect my network and it shows that the network name and passphrase i selected are correct on the router setup page. I can connect to wifi just fine when there is no authentication set on the network, but when I change it to WPA2 or WEP or any type of security on the router setup page, my laptop is able to find the network and connect with local only access. it gives me the option to reset the network adapter or generate a new ip address, but the problem still persists, and the connection only works when there is no password. is it my laptop or the router that is the problem. it has worked previously with a different router with password security.
I am using 3G to access the internet on my PC. I have a 3G modem connected, and want to setup my Linksys WRT54GL router to enable wi-fi, so other devices can access the internet as well.
The router was working fine when it was setup but was disconnected for a short while. There is now no recognition of the router and the install cd was misplaced...
I have a existing WiFi ADSL router and I have a WAG120N lying spare in my closet. I recently shifted to my room a floor above. I wanted to amplify signals as the current router is not able to beam signals that far. Hence I wanted to set this up as a WiFi repeater to have a complete coverage. I tried N number of ways but could not succeed.
