View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a new wireless configuration on a 5508 WLC. the controller is licensed for 12 AP's. I have plugged 8 AP's into the wireless vlan and 6 out of 8 come up with IP address and connect to the controller, broadcast two configured SSID's all seems good with them, but i have two AP's that do not get IP addresses. they are in the correct vlan i can plug a laptop into the group of ports in the val and get an IP address. So it seems to be just the AP's that don't. if i look at the consol of the AP it says: Waiting for PHY to auto negotiate . then it say timed out and continues to "boot with errors" then it continues to complain that it has no ip address. I have rebooted a few times and changed ports, and patch cables.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just had Comcast setup my internet and it is really fast. 30 down, 10 up, 40 ping, my connection to my computer (wireless) is very fast and my online gaming (wired) is not laggy at all.The problem lies with the connection dropping when I am online gaming. I connected directly to the modem and there's no problem at all. I connect to my Linksys EA3500 and once I start playing in an online game, I disconnect from Xbox Live and am dropped from the game... anywhere from right away until about 10-15 minutes into the game. This is the only time where my connection falters at all, otherwise it is great. But I play online a lot, and competitively, so I obviously need a stable connection.I have not had this issue with my previous ISP in New York, Time Warner and that connection was much worse. I'm thinking it must be a setting on the router that is causing this, but I can't pinpoint what. I tried automatic AND static connections from my xbox to the router. On the static connection, I even put a DMZ on it, but to no avail.

It has the latest firmware. I spent about three hours on the phone with Cisco tech support about this. They uninstalled and re-installed the router - it still doesn't work!
I gave this old router (DGL-4300) to someone far away and couldnt get it work over the phone.Normally, I would just connect it to my cable modem and it detects all the WAN IPs (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS Server, Secondary DNS Server). However, she lives in a building and her internet comes from the wall where she attaches her Macbook to it via Ethernet. When she connects the router to the wall, the WAN IPs remain at 0.0.0.0.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust the other day, I had to restore my laptop to it's factory conditions. Ever since then I have not been able to connect to the router, before I restored my laptop though I was already having trouble with my Internet connections. I have tried troubleshooting but it cannot detect anything wrong with anything. I know it's not the router since I am still able to connect to it via other devices. I restarted the router just in case but that has done nothing.

My fianc just reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition last night as his computer was virus-ridden and it was becoming impossible to use. It took a couple times for the computer to even pick up the Windows disc, but fourth time lucky and it was good to go. Once reinstalled we tried to get everything checked and download some anti-spyware etc, but it wouldn't pick up the router. The router is wireless, but connects to his computer via a cable. The router is a Netgear 54 MPBS Wireless Router, DG834G v3. We have been told that the computer should just automatically pick up the router, but the only way it will allow us to try and connect is via a dial up connection.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a DSL connection which is established using a dial-up (PPPoE) modem. I recently bought a wifi router, and I found that when I plug the cable to one of the LAN ports and the laptop, it seems as if it wasn't connected at all (not detected on either side).I tried to format the system running on XP and I installed windows 7 but the problem persists. The only thing I can think of right now is using a crossover cable, but I somehow doubt that it should work since I tried plugging the router to my netbook (using a normal cable) and it worked like a charm. But maybe the fact that it's a quite old laptop (PB MV51-101) has something to do?

We have been having a problem with one computer on our network unable to detect our network, or when it rarely does connect, it only has one bar and barely works. The files we attached are one of the times it could connect, when we finally caught it at the right time.We have a total of five computers/laptops on our network connected at different times. We recently updated the router and we've updated the drivers for the network adapter on the problem computer.Neither has worked. The computer was moved here a few months ago and because of condensation the graphics card was destroyed. We took it to a computer repair shop (which is how we found this out) and they installed a new graphics card. It hasn't worked since it got here. That computer was traditionally used for gaming (before it moved here) but if we can get into an online game, our ping is really high, in the 100s.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a D-link N750 DB running smoothly for about a year now. Suddenly the other day, for no apparent reason, it dropped its connection to the modem and refuses to acknowledge it anymore. The router still broadcasts the network ESSID and accepts external connections.
First, the cable modem appears to work just fine, as I'm able to hard wire with a laptop and get consistent internet service. Second, when in the router settings, the ethernet connection status reads not detected, so it seems to me that the router hardware has no idea its got anything plugged into it.
I've tried the standard power cycling methods in various orders about a dozen times. I've replaced cables and done a hard reset of router settings. No dice.

I have the port fowarded for the ATA but when I go to canyouseeme.org it comes up as "Connection timed out"...becuase I think it can't see the ATA behind the Router.

My problem started when I could not create any new folders through finder. I had to store new files in the root folder. Every time I entered the admin password, I got a message saying I did not have sufficient permission to perform such a task. And now my HDD is not detected at all.

I have reliance ZTE AC2726 modem and i am trying to connect it with using the latest firmware version 121123. Router is able to detect the modem but when it tries to dial the connection is not established and reset the router after retrying 2-3 times. It was working perfectly fine earlier when i was on 120309 firmware version. So i tried downgrading my firmware version to 120309 and again it started working. I am not sure why the latest firmware version is not working with this device. Ideally the new firmware versions for a router should fix the existing issues and all the modems which were working earlier should work.

Recently I bought a new laptop (Sony Vaio SVE1511HFXW) and I haven't been able to connect it to the internet wirelessly. I previously was working on a Sony Vaio VGN-NR series laptop that I had no problem setting up a wireless connection for. I ran my router set up disc on the new machine and basically everything got ruined. My other laptop lost it's wireless connection and connecting it with an ethernet cable didn't work either. So now both computers were not connected. Actually, all devices can't pick up the wireless anyway (I tried to get on netflix with my Wii and it didn't work) I restarted the router several times, reset it once and nothing happened. I could only connect with the cable after I reset the modem and router, but it's still saying it "can't detect an internet connection." When I ping the router I get an answer back.

We have a Sonicwall NSA 3500. We have a seperate interface for LAN and WLAN. The WLAN is set up on a Sonicpoint. Right now, the LAN gives out 10.10.99.x addresses, the WLAN gives out 10.10.100.x addresses. What is the best way to get these two interfaces to give out addresses on the same scheme, ie both LAN and WLAN giving out 10.10.99.x addresses?
