I've had a D-link N750 DB running smoothly for about a year now. Suddenly the other day, for no apparent reason, it dropped its connection to the modem and refuses to acknowledge it anymore. The router still broadcasts the network ESSID and accepts external connections.
First, the cable modem appears to work just fine, as I'm able to hard wire with a laptop and get consistent internet service. Second, when in the router settings, the ethernet connection status reads not detected, so it seems to me that the router hardware has no idea its got anything plugged into it.
I've tried the standard power cycling methods in various orders about a dozen times. I've replaced cables and done a hard reset of router settings. No dice.
I currently have a N750 router running alongside a Motorola Surfboard DOCSIS modem from Charter Communications. To the extent of my knowledge, the router had lost its connection and self-restarted, if not a high ping spike, and I could no longer connect to 198.168.1.1 in my web browser, Google Chrome (also, I cannot connect to my modem through 198.168.1.100, it says that the webpage is not available). I just bought the TP Link MR 3020 and tried connecting my Tata Photon Whiz USB (Huawei EC121) modem with it. The TP Link cannot identify the modem. It goes forever into identifying mode. I next tried a Huawei E173 with Reliance 3g sim in it but again no results. The TP Link goes into identifying mode forever. I have installed the latest firmware for the device but am not able to set it up.
I have a dell inspiron laptop with windows vista installed. I have been traveling all over Germany and automatically detecting internet wherever I go however I cannot detect the dlink wireless access point directly across from me. My work computer is detecting and connecting just fine. I see other wireless networks just not the one I have a password for so I cannot connect. I have reset and seperately restarted the wireless access point but no luck. I am in desperate need of this wireless access. There is no line I can plug into manually either. I have also tried to manually set up the network and that either did not work or I did not go about it correctly.
My ZyXEL modem/router does not detect my ethernet cables. it has one that runs to the main computer and i have a cable connected to my xbox. the light does not turn on when i try to use the internet for my xbox and the xbox does not detect ethernet. the other port works fine for the computer.

I'm using the TL-MR3220 hardware version 2.0. Firmware version 3.13.12 Build 120703 Rel.58323n. I'm using D-Link DWM-156 3.75G HSUPA USB Adapter. The problem I'm encountering is the router does not auto detect the 3G USB adapter when I power up the router. The router will detect the 3G adapter only when I plug out and plug in the 3G USB adapter. I used to have the same router but version 1.2. Version 1.2 does not have this problem.

I have reliance ZTE AC2726 modem and i am trying to connect it with using the latest firmware version 121123. Router is able to detect the modem but when it tries to dial the connection is not established and reset the router after retrying 2-3 times. It was working perfectly fine earlier when i was on 120309 firmware version. So i tried downgrading my firmware version to 120309 and again it started working. I am not sure why the latest firmware version is not working with this device. Ideally the new firmware versions for a router should fix the existing issues and all the modems which were working earlier should work.
We setup a home network in our new house but we have a problem with limited connectivity in specific configuration.
There is few situations to describe the problem :
1. If I connect my computer directly to the modem I can access to the internet. (modem --> computer = internet OK)
2. If i connect the ethernet cable (in the wall) between my modem and RJ45 jack in the living room and connect my computer directly to the RJ45 I can access to the internet. (modem --> cat6 cable in the wall --> computer = internet ok)
3. If I connect my router directly (without the cat6 cable in the wall) to the modem and my computer to the the router I can access to the internet. (modem --> router --> computer = internet ok)
4. If i connect the ethernet cable (in the wall) between my modem and RJ45 jack in the living room and connect to router to the RJ45 and my computer to the router I CANNOT access to the internet. (modem --> cat6 cable in the wall --> router --> computer = internet access problem)
5. If i connect the ethernet cable (in the wall) between my modem and RJ45 jack in the living room and connect to a swith to the RJ45 and my computer to the switch I can access to the internet. (modem --> cat6 cable in the wall --> switch --> computer = internet OK)
With those tests I am not able to figured out what is the problem... router is working in situation #3. cable in the wall is ok in situations #2 and 5. How to make my router working when connected to the RJ45 jack in the living room.
There is my component : Router --> D-Link WBR-2310 Switch --> Trendnet TE100-S5 Modem --> Thomson DCM475 Cable in the wall --> Homemade with 568A standard in both end.
we were happily getting along with our RCN cable Motorola modem and DLink wireless 655 until the last couple of weeks. The internet would intermittently not be available, without warning. First couple of times we power cycled the modem and router, and it worked, but then stopped being available altogether. I got some support from RCN, the cable provider (they own the modem and it's old, so naturally that was my first thought). I now have a new modem and the situation is exactly the same. The error message that I get is that the IP address for the network cannot be found.
I got internet access by bypassing the router, connecting the modem directly to my (Windows XP) PC, releasing and renewing the IP address, and power cycling the modem. However, the internet still intermittently shuts down, and of course turning off the computer necessitates the whole procedure again. And now we have no wireless. Should we assume it's the router, and a new one would solve our problem? Of do we just need to reset the IP address of the router?
have wireless d-link adsl modem router which usually use for adsl connection sharing, but i have a cable internet connection, so my question is can i share my cable internet connection with this router?
my dlink dsl-520b dls modem is using 192.168.1.1 and is plugged into the WAN port on my dlink wireless router.the wireless router is 192.168.0.1. (these are both in the main building which is remote from my shop). Then i have a netgear wireless access point This spreads the signal properly, and I can get connectivity on all my computers -although i do have to specify a default route on the computers on my shop side of the access point.I noticed that the internet light on my modem is red which indicates no internet connection. I am still able to access the internet fine, but i would like to be able to log into the modem from my network. I was able to do this before by setting a computer with a netmask of 255.255.0.0.
We are using a Westell 7500 wireless modem/router from Frontier without any problemsI have two d-link wireless n300 routers that I want to add to network so I can add them to our DirecTV DVR's. I have tried using the D-link CD and instructions without any success. Everytime it prompts me for my 1st router's (the Westell's) login/password, it says it's invalid. If I then click to continue w/o the logon and password, it then gives me an error when it is trying to add the d-link. I have tried everything. My Westell IP is 192.168.1.1. How can I access and add the d-link routers? Is there an easier way?
Recently switched DSL providers and now have Cisco modem DPC3008. Able to connect to internet directly thru modem. Able to connect wired or wireless to router. i have a adsl modem tp link td 8840, and i had this up and running well for about 3 days. then we decided to get a router cause my little sis got a ipad2.the router is dlink dir 61.so basically i followed all the instructions and the internet was working fine.then for some reason ign site stopped working, i thought that it was down for some reason and didn't think much of it and today when i tryed to go into hotmail or facebook it doesn't work either. so i can get into the log in pages of both, but when i put in the id and password, the screen goes blank and just says waiting for .... on the bottom (using google chrome).and it never loads.i tryed with other internet browsers and it din't work so i took out the router and re wired the adsl modem only and voila. all the sites started working again.i want to use my router but i don't know why i can't acess some sites when i have it connected.
At home I have a D Link DSL-2640R wireless adsl router/modem in my downstairs office.I would like to use the cable which goes to upstairs of the house to link to some sort of extra router or switch in order to provide more network ports upstairs.
My new housemate from France has arrived and was going to connect wirelessly to my network. But when he clicks to join the network we are waiting for like 30 mins for the computer to connect. Then when we change the settings for WPA, it doesn't accept the WPA key. We've tried everything and dont know what we might be doing wrong or what settings. He has a Toshiba Satellite and Windows XP.
I need to reset my DLink wireless modem all over again, can't get it to recognise the router, so thought that it would need to reset to factory defaut, how can I do this. Tried just hitting reset on the router, but nothing is happening.
I have an RV110W, there's internet access directly from my DSL modem, but when i connect my router it doesn't see the internet connection. I've changed the network cable and also confirmed the correct configuration in the router.
I have a D Link WL-2100 AP, I connected my PC to AP with ethernet cable, then I tried to connect the AP to my wireless modem but I couldn't do.How can I make the AP recognize wireless modem?
I have 2 mbps line with D-link modem shared by 2 persons through wire. Sometime I feel that my client is using more band width than me so I want to know is there is any way I can control the speed of my client.
I have a DLink D604T wireless modem. It has been working fine for the past 5 years but today the connection to my netbook computer kept dropping out.I can fix it temporarily by going into Network Connections, right clicking the modem, selecting wireless networks, clicking the modem, going to properties and retyping the network password. I then have to set the firewal to advanced connection settings and typing in my family network password, and changing the Windows firewall settings from On to Off.However, the connection drops out again after just a few minutes. If I then turn the firewall back on, it comes back on again for 5 minutes, but then drops out again. Then I have to repeat the whole process.
I'm using Linksys WAG160N - ADSL Modem/Router on one Desktop with Linksys WUSB Adapter. This connection is working fine.Recently I decided to add another Desktop wirelessly to share network, files and internet access. The second desktop is located in another room (approx. dist. is 30 Ft.)The second desktop detects the Modem but it fails to connect and it shows limited or no connectivity.
1. Allow Internet Access to both the desktops without loosing connectivity or without comporomising on speed.
2. Allow file/disk haring of desktop 2 with desktop 1.

I would like to upgrade my older router to a new one that I can connect my laser printer and storage via USB. I was looking at the Belkin N750, but it seems to get bad reviews. Is there another router that someone would recommend that has 2 USB ports (one for printer and one for storage)?
