D-Link DCS-942L :: Emails Blocked As SPAM?
Jan 30, 2013Yesterday I had the snapshots setup to be sent to my gmail account and now they've been blocked as spam. Is there anyway to get around this? The motion detection area is set to 90% so I see why I'm getting a bunch of snapshots. Is there a setting I can change on my gmail account or is the only option to reduce the percentage? I'd prefer to get all of the emails.

Buy it about 1 month ago with firmware 1002, link to ISP by simple LAN with DHCP IP lising without any method of identification like PPOE or other. 2 days ago tech support of ISP call me nd say that my router send bad packet to their hardware and all LAN collups include DNS server. I disconnect all device from router but same thing happened. I update firware to 1003 but this action work for 1 day, and again tech support call me. What wrong with router or may be with ISP technician's hands?

On average there are 6 devices running at once, but only two of which do anything that takes up a significant amount of bandwidth and the router is a good distance away from my computer and my brothers (we do online computer gaming). Sep 10, 2012So lately this week, one rogue user from the boarding house has been downloading(possibly torrenting)/streaming to his/her heart's content resulting in extremely slow connections for everyone else. I've been using an Android app to list all devices connected to the network, and one-by-one, manually disconnected each one to find the problematic, bandwidth-hogging IP. I've found that said user continued to use up bandwidth even up to the wee hours of the morning.
I managed to find his/her IP address, I know I could just block sites/ports via the router's control panel but I guess it's not that simple because: a.) Whoever setup the wireless on our floor forgot the username/password combo(not even the landlady knows) b.) I've asked management about asking for access to the router. Being the IT student on the floor, I guess I'll take the responsibility of at least limiting the rogue user's bandwidth so everyone else on our floor has a fair share.
So my question is: is there a way to limit an IP/application's bandwidth usage via a non-router control panel method, without having to do a hard reset on the router? I have tried in vain to use the Android app I used, but all it takes is a router reboot to disable it (said user knows how to reset the router). It's been days since we've had a stable connection for legitimate schoolwork usage because of this one IP that's using up all the resources.
The router on our floor is a Linksys WRT54G2 and my operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.

Cisco VPN :: Tunnel Gets Idle For Arbitrary Amount Of Time Rv110w
Oct 15, 2012I have set up 2 RV110w firewall/vpn/routers at remote locations and an ipsec tunnel between them. Once the tunnel gets established everything works fine until it has been idle for some arbitrary amount of time. (Maybe a half hour or less.) at which point we lose server access and can no longer ping across the tunnel. To fix this I have had to dissconnect and reopen the tunnel again, I even went so far as to install an autopinger on the remote end to keep traffic on the tunnel which seems to work but is not going to be a viable long term solution.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1841 Large Amount Of Ip Exclusions For Servers
Jan 12, 2012I have an 1841 and started to run into an issue which can be resolved but looking to see what you guys prefer to do in this situation. We allow users to connect the laptop via ethernet and wireless to our network at the same time as well as an iPad or any other wireless technology. With that said, for the most part each user has two IP's at any given point. The issue comes in is that I have a large amount of IP exclusions for servers, printers, switches, etc on the exclude list. I am starting to see that the 255 address are not enough to make a long story short. I am also using the 1841 to handle another range for the voice network, which has no isues. What is the best way to fix this issue? Can I run a virtual VLAN off that 1841 for everyone to use and then have the servers, switches, printers, etc on another one? I want to assume no, as both interfaces are used on the back of the 1841 for the two VLANS running now. Or is the only way to handle this with this device to say that as a policy you can only connect assigned company hardware to the network?

May 5, 2011I am currently at a standstill when it comes to our desired set up for the following:Originally we purchased an iPad app called Luminair, which works as a DMX board. The idea was to be able to control a set of light fixtures hard lined into a Linksys WRT54G router, which would then allow us to control the lights with the iPad and the Luminair App.After quite a long time and a lot of different settings, I've found myself at this point:We recently were able to connect and control our lights from DMX Workshop, an application running on a Windows 7 64bit connected directly to the fixture through a standard ethernet cord. Both the computer and fixture are set at a 2.x.x.x IP address and a 255.0.0.0 subnet. To allow the two systems to connect andw work with each other, the speed had to be throttled from 100Mb to 10Mb.
I've now tried to introduce the Linksys WRT54G router in between the computer and the fixture hard lined with ethernet cables. My hope is to establish a connection with this setup, and then swap the computer for the iPad.Is it possible to set up the Linksys to a 255.0.0.0 subnet? And do you think it needs to be at this subnet and a 2.x.x.x IP to allow it to work?Also, is it possible to throttle the speed in the router to 10Mb as well, because if it is trying to connect at 100mbps, I am confident it will not work.

I work for my college/student and i am the assistant admin, my teacher gave me full admin privileges. Feb 10, 2012I have some iMacs that I manage for, in addition to my primary PC computers, such as my Toshiba Windows 7 laptop, which is what I am currently most concerned with. What I would like to do, is Remote Desktop Control (I'll abbreviate that as RDC) these mac computers through the network from my Windows PC. I am aware that this is possible with either Google Chrome, or by checking an OSX setting that will allow for VNC applications to connect, but I would prefer it if there was some way to RDC these iMacs from my Windows laptop without needing to change their settings or install software-something like how Mac-Mac RDC connections work, where I can just select a computer from the network, type a password, and go.

I am wondering about a technological aid. She has a WIFI network at her home. If there was a way I could set up a MONITOR on the wall that could display say a diary or calendar that I could update and change remotely?. I'd need a PC set up there to run the display, and then connect to that over the internet and control what it shows.Either way it needs to be something I initiate and control as needed, so she doesn't have to do anything like send a remote assistance request, because she can't really manage that.
