I have a reliance netconnect + broadband connection (usb device) which I use to connect my laptop. Is there any device/ software which will convert this to WIFI so that I can use the same connection for my other WIFI enabled devices?
Half of the time i have to stay at hotel due to business trip. The hotel i stay will provide free internet broadband with cable but no WIFI. Can i set up WIFI if i have router?
My computer has developed a habit of spontaneously having no internet connection even though it says the signal is as strong as it can be. When I began to investigate the issue I ran some diagnostics and the Internet IP ping test failed. I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. I did do a ipconfig/all on a c prompt and have the results I can post if anybody wants to see that. Beyond this I can't lend much more except to say that when it happens I can click on the troubleshooting and while it is trying to determine what the problem is (usually takes at most 30 seconds) the issue resolves itself and I can resume doing what I was doing. Last night was the worst it ever has been I had to restart my computer completely but once it had gone through the boot process and was in Windows again it was fine.
I have a guest house in the back. I access the net there through my Dell laptop using WiFi. I have a television there that needs to have its operating system upgraded through the internet. All it has is a LAN connector. How do I get my Laptop to convert the WiFi to LAN so all I need to do is connect a LAN cable between my laptop and the TV? Or do I need to buy something cheap to convert WiFi to LAN?
I have a cable internet. There is no other hardware that connects to the Cable. There is no modem or router.Just the RJ45 cable that I plug in to my laptop and go online. Now,I want to convert this to wifi.what router/modem will I require and possibly with the model number and something thats low in price.I will use only one laptop and no intention of multiple user.I dont intend to use printers either.I am using windows 7.The network adapters that are installed in my laptop are: Intel Centrino wireless N 1030.Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter and Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter #2,RealtekPCIe FE Family Controller?

My daughter is 10,000 miles from home taking classes in South Africa and her laptop is having issues! She can connect fine via wifi at the local internet cafe and it works just fine....but from her flat she has to connect wifi first then sign into broadband. She can get the wifi connection but her modem just sits there saying dialing and never gets anywhereWe have tried updating the modem driver to no avail, there is no static IP set up in her network connections, modem status says its ok.
My laptop was working fine but has suddenly stopped connecting to the wifi. All other devices in the house are still connecting, so the router is fine. The laptop can see that the router is there (it comes up in the list of available wireless networks) but just won't connect.

I have a wired broadband connection with a modem. My internet service provider does not have Wi-Fi. Can I convert it myself into wi-fi by connecting it to a router. If possible how?
Currently I am hosting a 7 day mountain retreat, for about 90+ people. Clearly they are dependent on the internet teet as am I I am trying very hard to provide internet to our friends, but I just can't seem to figure it out I have a Mobile Broadband Router (MBBR) which limits connected devices to 6, so I figured that if connect a home router with wifi (WIFI) that allows 253 connections problem solved right? So I put a short LAN cable from the LAN port on the MBBR to the WAN port on the WIFI and presto! The WIFI gets a IP address, but does not allow other users of the WIFI to get internet. I've even killed all security on the WIFI and put the WIFIs IP in the DMZ on the MBBR. I noticed the DNS was the same as the gateway on the WIFI, so I changed that to the DNS on the MBBR still nothing.
PS Yes I have a connection on the MBBR I am on it now.Connecting the LAN cable from the MBBRs LAN to the WIFIs LAN extends the range, and grants internet to the WIFI users... but uses the MBBRs DHCP to give IP addresses, which limits to 6.I guess the goal here is bypass the limitation of the MBBR by using the WIFIs DHCP to issue IPs?
I have a god-knows-which brand broadband router through which I access the net. This router has 4 ethernet ports. I have 2 laptops (with wifi obviously) & a desktop connected to the router by the standard LAN cable. I was wondering if I could network all the three through the router
I am using a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router(Model WRT54G). I am trying to set up a desktop computer to have a wireless usb adapter running so I can connect to the Wireless-G Broadband Router. When I run the setup CD for the wireless usb adapter it asks me to push the Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button on the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router.
I have looked at the Linksys router found an obscure button on the front with the Cisco Systems Copyright logo on it. I pushed this but the wireless usb adapter failed to locate the wireless network. There is also another button on the back of the Linksys Router that is a Reset button.
Sky router setup in the living room, with a NAS, TV, PS3 connected to it.In my office (separate room), i have 2 laptops and a desktop PC.My question is:If i want to connect all of the equipment in my office so that it shares the broadband connection am i right in thinking i would need to by some form of switch? where the switch would be connected to the phone socket in the wall, and the 2 laptops and desktop PC would be connected directly to the switch.?
