May 9, 2012I am testing out some inspection options on an ASA 5505, and I am running into a situation in which applying a http inspection is dropping all outbound http traffic. I get a "protocol violation" error in the logs.
Here is the setup: I'm not sure why the web traffic is getting dropped.

Jun 25, 2012I am trying to confgure a VPN connection on a Cisco ASA 5505, and I am supposed to translate the inside network from 10.200 76.0 to host 10.1.4.204, and then from that scheme establish a VPN with the host 66.179.80.108 on network 192.168.50.0/24. I was told that this Cisco ASA appliace would be able to translate the network address as a mask in order to make the necessary connection with the other site connection.

Mar 1, 2011I have Site(s) Ani....i=1,..10 sites which communicate with site B to access a website/application. That's simple enough. However, the traffic is http well we primarily don't need https on ipsec tunnel right?. But since attacks related to eavesdropping of traffic come a real reality once it gets terminated by the ipsec device on both side.I have two options either to purchase a third-party ssl certificate to encrypt the traffic between two nodes or use a custom made one.I don't want to use a custom made one because this make the browser prompt an ugly untrusted certificate message; its ugly not from security perspective but for clients inconvenience and assuring users confidence in our systems is a critical issue for us. ?
a) How its possible to remove ugly certifcate message from user screen? Does the company need to register its certificate to some kind of CA body? or what ...
b) Due to some tcp acceleration issues, ssl traffic slows down the traffic between the nodes so we only require the encryption to stand just during the initial handshake when the username and password are being validated ; after that we want to revert back to http?

Feb 5, 2013Since a few days, when I go on Web with my cable connection, the pages of sites stay on a blank page and that does not connect. Having made diagnose, I had the following message:The distant ring road(peripheral) or the resource does not accept the connection.The ring road(peripheral) or the resource [URL] is not configured to accept the connections on the port " Web Service (HTTP) ".I phoned at my FAI ( Videotron) and having discussed for a long time, it happened at the conclusion that it was a problem of router (when I connect the computer directly on the modem, that works very well).Of an other one quoted(esteemed), a connection Wireless telegraphy works with no problem at all, fortunately because I shall not be here.I am to go to my router D-Link Dir-835 and I returned to the former(old) protection(saving) of the configuration. And now that re-works again. But the enjoyment was short-lived because this morning, the problem returned.What do you think about it? I Should make a reset of my router even if it means re-configuring everything again?

Jun 8, 2011I am configuring a new ASA 5510 to replace a SonicWall and I have a problem with an HTTP Connection inside my LAN.PC from the LAN ( using ASA LAN interface as gateway) can't Connect to a Camera video Web Server (192.168.4.20) on Port 80 whereas I can Ping it.
ADSM logs show :
106015# Deny TCP (no connection) from ip1 to ip2 Flags RST on Interface LAN.The adaptive security appliance discarded a TCP Packet that has no Associated connection in the adaptive security appliance Connection table.
- I Enabled command "same-security-traffic permit intra-interface"
- HTTP inspection is disabled.
I used Capture feature on the Ingress Interface, I joined the Logs and a part of my ASA Running Config.
Cisco Firewall :: 5510 - Http Connection With Video Flow
May 4, 2011I am using ASA 5510 and I have a specific problem with Http Connection to receive a video Flow ( RSTP protocol ) in the LAN. Some Pc users (192.168.1.133,in the log) with ASA Lan Interface as gateway can ping the Camera but don't receveive the video flow.Some Pc users (192.168.1.116,in the log) using another gateway can ping and receive the video flow. I used Whireshark to capture traffic between camera and Pc using the 2 gateway. I joined Logs with this message.It seems to be a problem of TCP segments on the ASA, I try to changed some TCP options but it's still the same:- Disable Force Maximum Segment Size- Enable Force TCP Connection to Linger in TIME_WAIT State for at Least 15 Second.

Mar 7, 2012I have seen this at two sites now: after migrating the site T1 to 10-Mbps Opt-E-MAN and replacing old 10/100 switches with 10/100/1000 switches, users frequently get http connection errors. The error goes away if the user reloads the page--sometimes they have to reload more than once. They never had this problem before.I thought it was due to the large number of 5-port desktop switches infesting the networks (I'm getting rid of them as fast as I can) but it happens even on a PC directly connected to one of the new GigE switches. It does not happen when accessing internal web pages. It looks like a DNS failure -- but nothing has changed in our DNS setup, except that users have a fatter pipe to our DNS servers.

Mar 10, 2013We have ASA5520 and we want to configure a VPN IPSEC profile so that a partner of ours can access only a server and only on HTTP port.I've tried configuring split tunneling with an Extended ACL but probably I'm missing something. I just configured the ACL so that it included any source to our server's IP on HTTP port but when testing, it didn't work.
However, if I configure a Standard ACL on the split tunneling I can access the server and all the services it provides.Do you know if I'm missing anything on the Extended ACL configuration?
Should I configure this any other way?

It connects fine, and I can ping anything, and I can also access websites with HTTPS, but when trying to access any website with HTTP, it doesn't work.There's no load balancing going on, and it's the same whether we have the Firewall turned on or off, and everything else is pretty much as default.

I have looked at the BT Home Hub Wireless set up page and the settings are Using WPA and WPA2 and the correct wireless encryption key is there. Channel selection is automatic. I have changed that to 3 other suggested channels, no result. Frankly it is all Greek to me and I do not know what I am looking at. how I reconnect the Kindle by wireless and the internet radio? (I know I can use a USB to connect the Kindle, but not the radio).
