Huawei 521i Router - Can Connect With Ethernet Cable But Not Wifi
Oct 15, 2012
I have a huawei 521i router that I recently reset back to factory settings. I have been trying to set up my wifi but something is wrong. I can connect with my ethernet cable but not wifi. I have set up my wireless connection and I can see it in the list.
I have an arris broadband modem combo and the wifi signal in the basement is poor I tryed to connect a netgear n 300 wireless router (wnr2000v3) to extend the wifi with an ethernet cable but the neatgear router does not have an internet connection.
I have an Acer aspire one netbook, model D255 which operates on Windows 7.Having trouble connecting to wifi connections. It worked fine initially, I tried turning the wifi switch on and off, it tells me that there are no wifi connections available, however everyone else Is able to connect via Wifi on their computers and myself without a problem on other devices. On troubleshooting it's says - that an Ethernet cable is broken or not plugged in properly, and is unable to fix the problem, as obviously I am not connected via any cable.I looked in network and it says that the Ethernet cable is unplugged and does not show any available networks.
I have only one computer right now.Had two, and got very weak signal to laptop (since discarded) upstairs from Linksys g 54Mbits downstairs at main desktop computer desktop.I have tried three different kinds of 54Mbits wifi routers, all with no success.I'm going to get my wife a new wifi laptop for Christmas, and she wants to be able to use it all over the house. The 54Mbits will cover the downstairs, but, based on previous efforts, I am thinking of putting my modem in the garage, where the cable enters my house, and using a splitter on the cable coming out of the modem to make two IN cables, using one cable for my comp and a 54Mbits router (for downstairs coverage), and putting a second wifi router on the end of the upstairs cable, to cover the upstairs rooms. My house has cable outlets in every room, so I won't have to do any wiring.
I plan to leave the routers on all the time (at this time) subject to how much of a bandwidth drop they cause. I have a 100 Mbps connection, and I play games, so I'd like to retain as much bandwidth as possible. I assume the two "on" wifi routers will pull zero bandwidth as long as the laptop is off. (??)Or maybe I should just try an "n" wifi router, since they get twice the distance, and forget the cable splitter idea.
I currently own 2 wifi routers which have 4 lan ports on the back. In my room i have two desktops without wireless capability. I was wondering is it possible to have one router in my room which my desktops plug into - and then the router to ""Bridge" with the one downstairs to give me wireless capability. I believe its called bridging but i have had no hopen as of yet. Huawei HG520b and Huawei HG532 are my two routers. I know this can be done by purchasing a wire - but i cannot afford a 100m cable and i am not particularly interested in purchasing an adapter for my desktops.
I have internet through my cable company and currently use their wireless netgear router. I purchased a Netgear Router N600 but it does not have a port for the cable connection. Can you recommend the correct wireless router
I picked a threeHUAWEI E586, but after that i found this on mobile2wifi.co.uk that's fully unlocked, so that i wanna to do unlocked solution for mine, it could be compatible with more network
I have idea netsetter(huawei dongle e1732) and i had unlocked it and now i am using tata docomo sim card on it.now i want to use this dongle in wifi router 3g usb modems.but i am not sure that the dongle can work on router modems or not?i wanna make hotspot at home using dongle in router modem.
I want to be able to connect my Canon MX700 printer via ethernet cable to my Linksys Router - WRT54G2, with the ultimate goal of having only the printer and router on, and able to print wirelessly from my iPad, MacBook and/or iPhone.
My WinXP Home PC won't connect properly (limited connectivity/no internet) via ethernet cable to my router (Belkin N150). Ipconfig /all shows the IP address as 169.254.117.71 but this is determined by an entry in the registry at HLMSYSTEMCurre....'DhcpIPAddress' - REG_SZ - 169.254.117.71. Also listed at 'IPAutoconfigurationAddress'. My laptop connects fine plugged into the same port getting it's IP automatically (192.168.2.2) and getting internet fine. I've tried adding a DWORD entry 'IPAutoconfigurationEnabled' = 0, also tried deleting the 2 values.Tried setting the IP manually to 192.168.2.6 - limited connectivity goes away but I get no internet connection from the router nor file sharing.

in the past my laptop has been able to connect directly to the internet using an Cat5e cable, but recently when I have been trying to direct connect, I have been unable to, and not sure when the problem started because I always used WiFi and it worked great. I do a lot of messing around, not only with my network, but with my laptop settings also, so something might have gone bunko. I have done much troubleshooitng, such as trying to update drivers, checking to see if the hardware was disabled, etc...
I'm trying to share my wifi internet from my pc to my old mac ive connected them via ethernet cable, from my understanding the mac has been assigned an ip address, but I can not use the internet on it.
I have set up my linksys in my main hall, i get a decent wifi signal in my room. But i get very very poor signals on my phones (bb9780 and Samsung S2). I bought a Huawei WS320 wifi repeater. how to connect these two so that i can get a strong enough signal in my room ?
I would like to connect my USB WIFI dongle directly to my wired router, this would enable me to have wifi access without having my PC switched on all the time, is this possible and if so what kind of adapter do I need? I think I need USB A Female to Ethernet RJ45 Male Router Adapter.
I have been using my laptop since a year now and yesterday suddenly my internet stopped working. On top of the connectivity bar a yellow sign appeared. Now my internet status is "No internet access" but when i connect my ethernet cable the internet starts working and i can see the "Internet access" status. I have re-installed my wi-fi driver too from the orignal CD that i got with my laptop, but still no luck also i did not install anything in past 1 week and the only anti-virus i have is Avast (tried disabling it too). I plugged out the cables from my router and plugged them again but that dint work too. There are 2 other laptops (running on windows 7 just like mine) on which the wifi connection is working but on mine it is not working.
I am running a rather old Dell Inspiron 6400 on Vista. Recently Virgin installed their latest Hub / wireless router for me and since then i cannot make a wireless connection to the internet. Before that I use to be able to connect to my old router (Linksys Wireless-G 2.4Ghz) no problem! I can connect via the ethernet cable no problems. The WiFi is on and even when I disconnect the ethernet cable, the bottom right hand corner symbol says that I am connected but I cannot load the internet and keeps giving me this message:"The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded."The Virgin Media support team ran a check and told me that my wirless adaptor is out of date and needs updating so I went on Dell Support, downloaded and installed the follwoing drivers but still no joy!
I have also ran a wireless WLAN utility diagnostic check through the control panel. In the Connection diagnostics, the Gateway IP Ping 'failed' and I think as result of that the Internet IP Ping, DNS IP ping and internet website domain name ping all 'skipped' but all else passed.
I have Lenovo laptop and my internet works just fine when the cable is connected but Wifi does not work. It shows that i have excellent signal on the side but it just wont connect. When i type in password it says " Windows cannot connect to XYZ ". I use Windows 7 and my wireless network adapter is Atheros AR9285.

Is there a difference in an ethernet cable and an Ethernet networking cable? I have an Ethernet cable and a 6 port splitter I am trying to connect. I have 4 ports in the router that are in use. When I connect them to the splitter nothing s working.
I have a WAG160N wireless gateway . Yesterday when i tried to power it on after a couple of seconds the power led was solid green and the Ethernet leds were blinking with no Ethernet cable attached to the router . The ethernet leds would keep blinking for minutes . I tried to use a screwdriver to do a hardware reset ( with power on ) and i noticed that the power led would start blinking green/red for minutes . I tried to use another wired router which i have for backup and it could connect to the internet normally without a problem.
What the green / red blinking power led means ( power led is green and then changes to red and then it starts over ) ?
I just reinstalled Windows 7 on my computer again and appear to be having trouble connecting to the internet with my ethernet cable. I've only ever used a wired connection on this computer, but am completely unable to do so at the moment.
I am trying to connect my two laptops with one Ethernet cable without any internet to a Network. However, just one of the laptops is identifying the connection, the other doesn't recognize that it has been connected to another laptop. Obviously, the cable itself is working (because one laptop identifies the connection), but what might be the problem that the other laptop doesn't recognize any connections?
I'm trying to connect to the internet via the ethernet cable available in my office at the university but it won't work. I'm able to see other computers connected to the network, share printers and have access to shared files but have no internet access. I know that the problem is not the cable or socket because my old XP computer connects to the internet just fine.
I had a similar problem back at home but I just restarted the modem and was able to connect.
Can I connect WIN98SE to DSL via ethernet cable? I'm trying to upgrade the OS to windows XP from the windows website. But I can't connect to the internet.
For some reason, i cannot connect to the internet using my current ethernet cable. I am 100% positive that adapter is working fine, as i had maintenance come into my room and check it out, but my computer won't connect to their internet through my cable. [code]
