View 2 RepliesIt seems like after a certain amount of time, maybe a few days... my E3000 gets slowww.. I'm talking dog slow. And it's not just the internet, I have a media server connected to it, and usually when I put something on it, the transfer rate is about 3.5MB/s (not bits, bytes). But everything is slow, I top out at speed of maybe 1/6 normal on the internet as well.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have FiOS and their supplied wireless router Actiontec #MI424WR. I have home theater equipment that uses the newer N signal so I purchased a Linksys E3000 Wireless-N Router. I have one of the LAN outputs on the Actiontec feeding the Linksys input and Wi-Fi turned off on the Actiontec. This is working good for my wireless home theater equipment but I am having problems with my wired speed. It has gone from averaging anywhere from 20 to 30 mbps on numerous test sites when plugged into the Actiontec to averaging around 10 mbps when plugged into the Linksys.
1) Is my wireless N speed going to top out at 10mbps or less since that is all the router is showing on wired? Shouldnt N be broadcasting a faster speed if given the ability?
2) I have my computer currently plugged directly into the Linksys verses the Actiontec. This makes it easier to program the Linksys router. Since I am no longer using the wireless part of the Actiontec there really is no need to be plugged into it. Is there anything I can do get the speed higher on the Linksys, a setting I can change? Will I have to plug the computer back into the Actiontec to get the higher speed and then move it every time I may need to make a change to the Linksys?
Operated 802.11N connection between Linksys E3000 and Atheros AR9825 at 150Mkbs? Can't get faster than 65Mkbs. AR9825 is in Sony Vaio laptop, have used multiple drivers that produce maximum of either 54 or 65 Mkbs. E3000 has current firmware (1.04). AR9825 uses only 2.4Ghz frequency, claims max speed of 150 Mkbs. Running Windows 7 SP1.

It worked fine until one day it just gave up. It's connected to DSL Modem with Ethernet To a Apple Mac G5 power PC There are two other older macs connected via Ethernet, same problem. When I took the router out of the chain, and connected G5 directly to modem, normal internet speed. My firmware is up to date. Both wireless bands work great. When I look at Cisco Connect, everything looks normal. factory settings.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an E-3000 and when I log into the user interface it seems changing pages and saving settings takes forever. I click on a section in the router menu and it takes what seems like 30 seconds for the page to change or accept the new settings. It's not my browser it's definitely a Linksys Router issue. I updated to the latest firmware and latest Cisco Connect software as well. Is this slow user interface a normal thing with these routers?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having very slow file transfer speeds between the 2 computers on my network. One is a gigabit pc wired (cat6) to the e3000. The other is a wireless N laptop. Both computers running Win7. Speeds are like 1.5 - 2 MB/s. when I connect the laptop to the router with a cable (cat6) I get proper high speed. Trying to figure out if it's a problem with the router or windows or what. Speedtest.net says I'm getting 16 MB/s DL wirelessly to my laptop. Shouldn't wireless N be capable of higher speeds than 1.5 MB/s?? Tests are done approx 10 feet from the router.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWill this router ever see a firmware update so that we can have some additional functionality? The version of Twonky Media server that was bundled with this router was old to begin with, and now we are stuck with it? I tried the E4200 but it just kept spinning my drive that's parked in a ThermalTake BlackX, at least the 3000 doesn't do that, but when can we expect some new firmware, it's been 8 months. I used to love Linksys, but with this kind of support I may have to move to a different brand, and I bet I am not alone. it doesn't break the E3000 like you broke the 4200.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had a Linksys Wireless-G router for a long time and had very good luck with it. However, I ended up getting a couple of Wireless-N devices and wanted to get a different router. I bought the Linksys E3000. I got it home and set it up, and at first it worked. Then it would all of a sudden drop everything connected to it. I would restart the router, and in short order it would drop all connections again. This completely baffled me for awhile, until I actually touched the bottom of the router, and it was quite hot. I had it laying flat on a a table, so I could never understand why it was getting so hot. Anyway...I stood it up on it's side and it worked for awhile. Then it would randomly drop various things connected to it. The last straw was when I was listening to internet on the Apple TV, while viewing the internet on my PC and it started dropping the connection every five minutes. Anyway, I have now hooked my Wireless-G Linksys back up and it is working great.
is Wireless-N even needed? I live in a small place, so I don't need it to reach a long distance, and I don't transfer a tremendous amount of date wirelessly, so that doesn't really matter. Should I even try to fix this router? I looked on the Linksys page and I am running the newest firmware.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tested QoS on the new E3000? Whenever I add an application (e.g. Voice Device) and set priority to Medium or High, my upstream bandwidth for everything else is immediately cut significantly, even when I'm not using the priority application.
For example, with QoS disabled, I can consistently get 10Mb upstream (speedtest.comcast.net). As soon as I enable QoS, upstream is capped to exactly 2Mb! On my old router, there was an option to set the total upstream bandwidth -- but on the E3000 there is no such option that I can find.
