Loaned old laptop when hard-drive went out of my own. I knew it would need some maintenance ie defrags, cleanups, updates etc. and have been trying to do so... in the process I am having a very difficult time as all of my browsers (that I thought were updated) are slow, hanging, crashing and causing my entire pc to freeze or hang.
Slow browser speed on all browsers, but the downloading and uploading speed are normal according to speedtest.net. Ping is a bit high. Other computers in the house are fine.Already contacted ISP (Time Warner), modem is not the problem Contacted Linksys router support, router is fine. anti virus plus malware byte.
I have many WiSM WLC's running 7.0.116.0. One WLC was rebooted few days ago but there was no crash file and nothing in logs say why this issue happened. There was a power problem at the same time the WLC rebooted (some switches and PE's was rebooted as well) but if it is a power issue why only one WLC inside the WiSM rebooted and the other WLC is still working fine with no reboot?I have 5 WiSM modules connected to the same 6500 box, only one WLC was rebooted which indicates a crash but no crash file registered for it.Is there anyway I can find the reason why that WLC was rebooted?
Using webvpn on a 2811 w/ adv ent 12.4(20)THTTP sites work fine (in the url-list)
But when we try to use an HTTPS site, clicking on that site just hangs forever. Debugs show the connection is making it, and the servers are getting the connections...
The destination servers are using self-signed certs, as well as the router. They are not requiring client certs.
I have DSL line that gives 7mb down and 768k up. I have 2 users running win7 RDP session and after a few hours the session is unusable its so slow and then eventually it hangs . don't know where to start.
I've noticed that when using the range command to configure multiple interfaces on a 3750 the SSH session oftens hangs. It's seems the more interfaces in the range command the more often it hangs. I have a feeling it also spikes up the CPU. Doesn't seem to be related to a specific version of code.
One of the companies I work for uses a DIR 655 router. I'm having some trouble using FTP there.Initially the problem was that FTP software would hang or give errors when trying to change directories on the remote server. This problem went away when I switched from passive FTP to Active FTP.Now using Active FTP, the files appear to be uploaded with no problem. However, on closer inspection, the uploaded file has 0 bytes on the remote server.
We are uploading from a Windows 7 machine and uploading to our Web Hosting Company's Windows Server. I've actually written the one piece of software that is showing this problem but it uses a widely known open-source FTP library written in .NET. I've never encountered either of these problems with my software until I encountered the DIR-655.The other FTP software client I've tried is FileZilla. It has the same problem, 0 bytes files when using Active FTP.
One solution I've seen on DSLReports was to disable the Stateful Packet Inspection part of the firewall (known as SPI). This is really not a good solution for two reasons. Number one, I do not have access to the router's firmware/ configuration. Number 2, the company has a DIR-655 because they want the additional security. If we're going to disable SPI it just defeats one of the major purposes of owning the DIR-655.
Was building a small network in Cisco Packet Tracer and ran in to an issue. I have 4 routers running OSPF, and off one of the routers I have 5 3560 Multilayer switches. The router that the switches hang off of, I have a sub-interface with dot1q encapsulation, set for vlan 10 and an IP Address. 10.14.16.1/24. The switches have interface vlan 10 configures, and have IPs in the same subnet. From that router, I can ping/telnet to all the switches without issue. My problem arises when I try and reach those switches from any other router. OSPF is set to redistribute static and connected subnets. The routing table is populated correctly on all the routers. When I ping and trace the packet, it looks like it makes it all the way to the respective switch, but the packet never makes it back. I've played with the default route on the switches to no avail. Am I trying to implement this incorrectly, or am I just missing something?
On setup 1 I have;Using 2 WAN, 1 from fiber 5mbps symetric fixed public IP and other is DSL private dynamic dhcp address 3mbps/900kbps
On setup 2 i have:Using 1 WAN, from fiber 5mbps symetric fixed public ip Both router have exact same firewall configuration, subnet and port forwarding and we have the seccont backup DSL coming in a few day for setup 2.on both setup, the RV082 is the main internet gateway/firewall for a set of server...
Setup 1 work perfectly and been online for 2 week (since install) without issue
Setup 2 worked for 2 day then had to reboot, then work for few days then need reboot, now it look like it need to be rebooted every day. the internet just stop working and a simple reboot does the trick... also, when that happen I can stil remote in server that have port forwarded in the router or connect to router management port, but internet on the server is down... I tried opendns and google dns on both WAN connection and still no luck.I have followed instruction on various support forum;
-more reliable dns server -lower MTU -failover vs load balance -disabling SPI and DoS protection
at this point I'm about to swap both router to see if it not a defective hardware or disconnect DSL WAN on setup 1 to see if its more stable but the whole point of installing this router was for Internet redundancy which so far dosent work as expected.
I encountered an issue while trying to boot Catalys WS-C4948-S switch. I power on the switch and I'm able to see the boot messages thourgh serial console cable. But it gets stuck at line "Image text-base: 0x1000000, data-base: ..... ". Also I can enter into rommon mode. I tried to use different kinds of IOS images, tried to boot from tftp but with no luck, the issue is the same.
There are no erros on the screen, it just gets stuck when it enters into IOS, so I don't see the IOS prompt.
We have Cisco 4507-R installed at customer site which got hang twice and became normal after getting booted.I have analyzed show tech-support for this switch after reboting but not found relevant logs for hang issue,
I have Cisco 2811 secure router in my network. Seven day before it has been hanging every 3-4 hour. i have updated "c2800nm-advsecurityk9-mz.124-17.bin" IOS in the router. After that it giving some error and every 7-10 hour network has been delay in LAN as well as WAN and not pinging.
We having a VSS switch (9 slot chasis) with ios "s72033_rp-ADVENTERPRISEK9_WAN-M), Version 12.2(33)SXI4", slot 7-9 are currently free. We wanted to install WS-X6708-10G-3C module on slot 7. Once we installed the module it didnt come, after waiting for 15-20min again we removed and inserted, but module didnt come up and we could see following logs on the console:
Jan 12 08:57:40.146: %ISSU-SW2_CFC2-3-ERP_AGENT_SEND_MSG: client/entity send failed; error code is timeout *Jan 12 08:57:40.330: %ISSU-SW2_SPSTBY-3-ERP_AGENT_SEND_MSG: client/entity send failed; error code is timeout Jan 12 08:57:40.146: %ISSU_ERROR-SW2_CFC2-3-START_NEGO_FAILED: ISSU NTI Client(2040): failed to start negotiation (ISSU_RC_CLIENT_ENTITY_DOES_NOT_EXIST_IN_PEER)
[code]....
Afer some time VSS switch didnt response to console commands and all the users in access switches were not able to reach the gateway (VSS). Then the problem disappeared once we rebooted both the switches in VSS.why the VSS switch become non-responsive?
i have facing problem in my Cisco Secure router 2811. It hanging every 5 to 10 minutes and restart. IOS of cisco router is 12.4 ipsecurity. I have attached the error log and configuration file of my router. Kindly see the log and let me the problem in my router.
I had my exisiting Huawei 3G Dongle replaced with a new LTE USB Dongle Huawei E392 from M1 Singapore. The router dectects it and I was able to get on to the Internet. But every after few mins, the connection will just hang and I have to go into the router to re-establish the connection.
In my customer having 3750 switch and they have simply assign IP address for vlan and enable telnet in switch and other things are same as default switch. In this switch they have connected 8 cisco layer 2 switches(6 managed and 2 unmanged switch) and approximately 5 servers connected in this switch. In a particular interval, users accessing File server are connected to 3750 switch become hanged for few min. This happen for some particular interval.users accessing this server becomes entirely hanged for few min, then i have configured port monitor cmd and i have installed one wildshark tool to host connected directly to that switch.
We have just got our daughter a brand new Dell laptop for her birthday, it is fine apart from she cant get into half the websites she wants to. On these websites internet explorer just hangs.
Examples of hanging websites are:Argos, Travel Republic, Easy Jet, Vue Cinemas, Bin weevils, National Rail, Expedia, Ebookers
The laptop has Windows 7 and Internet Exolorer 9.I suspect it is something to do with the dreaded Flash but the laptop has Adobe Shockwave Flash Object enabled and any attempt to download Adobe Flash Player results in a 12% timeout download (always 12%)
Funnily enough I have an old Dimension 5000 which behaves in exactly the same way including the 12% download but I expected a brand new laptop to work..Is this a known bug with Dell products ie. you cant access half the websites on the internet without a load of grief ?
I live on residence at college. I started having internet problems (slow, choppy, cutting out) that eventually stopped a few days ago. Then recently (yesterday) The internet stopped working for everything but my browsers and Norton Internet Security. Steam, DC++, even Adobe updater can't connect. I have booted in safe mode (with networking) and had the same problem.
They all just decide to not load pages fairly often. It happens on my netbook and PC, has been going on for like a year. Formatted each pc at least once since it started. It's really annoying. It's been awhile since I used firefox so I dont remember that error message but Chrome gives me the sad face with the x's in it's eyes and says oops I cannot load the page. On pages that auto refresh it happens ALOT. Once I click the refresh button once or twice it loads it fine. My HTC EVO doesnt have any trouble with the internet when I have it connected to my router. The operating system is Windows 7.
During the upgrade of my itunes/iphone to ios and iCloud, IE suddenly stopped working and hasn't worked since. I keep getting a message saying there is a problem with it and if Windows finds a solution, i will be notified. It's hard to troubleshoot because I can't get on the internet with that PC.It's running Windows 7.
It started a week or so so ago, whenever I tried to connect to a site the page would run very slowly (but once initially connected would run fine). Then today, I haven't gotten a response from any websites; there is just an infinite blank loading screen. I use Google Chrome, and tried switching to the already installed Internet Explorer but my my results were the same. I have been able to make calls on Skype without issue and even downloaded a game from the Microsoft store since the issue started. I am also using the wifi with my phone to post this, so I know it's not a connection issue. Everything using the Internet is working fine, just not the browsers. I am running Windows 8 with Kapersky Internet security (which has never given me an issue). I, also, scanned the computer and manually searched it for any signs of viruses or malware to the best of my ability and found nothing.
After installing a new windows update, none of my browsers will connect to the internet. Not IE, not Chrome, nor newly installed firefox. Strangely enough, I can use MSN and Skype, but Steam won't connect.I've tried to system restore just to the point before I installed the update, but it failed. Windows blamed it on an anti-virus program. Turned it off, and system restore still won't work. Uninstalled the new updates, but nothing has changed.
Recently, I've been getting problems where my internet browser is unable to connect to the server it's looking for or gets timed out. It happens intermittently (probably every five to seven web pages I try to visit), and refreshing after a few seconds always allows it to connect fine. It happens at some point on every web site I try to visit. This began occurring rather suddenly on both of my home computers. All other connections on these computers seem to be working fine. I use Chrome as the primary browser on both computers, but have tried using Firefox and it still seems to occur. What can I do to figure out what the problem is? I'm not even sure if it's a browser issue or a network issue, but we have never had this problem before
Any of the internet browsers I have installed on my pc won't launch.
- programs like skype or Y!Messenger work fine - I did a system restore and nothing - I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox (that's my main browser, but IE and chrome don't launch either) - the process shows up for a few seconds in task manager and then just disappears - sometimes the browser opens but closes itself in less than a second - I ran a scan with Malwarebyte&Antimalware and nothing shows up
I have 2 internet connections, 1 wifi and another lan. Can I assign them to different browsers to perform different downloads at the same time to increase my download speed. Are there any softwares to manage 2 connections for such.
The past month or so Facebook has been incredibly spotty. I downloaded Chrome (originally using Firefox) which is slightly more reliable but never that great. I don't have a big scary firewall up, nothing has changed with my network at all!
The problem is with my tower that i hadn't used in a while. I tried to use it recently and nothing will connect to the internet except internet browsers. I have norton 360 on this computer and I am using windows 7.
I have a weird problem with my home network that I'm unable to fix:I have 2 laptops (Lenovo and HP) both connect to the wireless network and show up as Local & Internet connected on the Windows 7 OS. Both can ping to an outside network with domain names but no pages open on the browser. There's no error displayed on the browser, the page just tries to keep loading. When I connect both these laptops over the wire, I'm able to browse through all pages easily. I also have 2 phones connected to the same wireless network and I can browse over internet without any problems.
I'm having trouble getting any web browser to work/recognize my connection. I've confirmed that I am indeed connected to the internet (I know this because, for example, I have no problem at all downloading games via Steam). For some reason, though, when it comes to surfing the web using a browser it's as if I'm not connected (even Steam can't load the Store page, I can only download games via the Library).I moved an infection a week or two ago, and I suspect it altered something that is causing this issue. I did get some advice to open the browser and go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings and make sure "Automatically detect settings" was checked, and "Use proxy server for your LAN" was not checked.I did this, and in fact "Use proxy server" WAS checked while Automatically detect settings" WAS NOT checked.
Does a VPN like Hotspot Shield (which installs to your hard drive) also obscure your public IP for running processes that connect to the web, or does it just work for web browsers?
