I've had a Belkin N+ wireless router for about 5 months. I reset the router recently (using the reset option on the router itself) and now it doesn't boot up. The lights at the front flash as if its going through its boot sequence but it never stops. I left it for 2 hours while I went out and when I came back it was still going through the boot sequence.
We have owned a this router for nearly a year now, and recently it has been acting up.Today I added a static connection or something of the like for my Xbox, with the correct ip gateway and subnet mask. Since the restart it has never stopped cycling the boot sequence without end. The download lights cycle and the router light flashes constantly. And I am unable to connect to the router page at 192.168.2.1 So I cannot reset the router, the hardware reset button just momentarily pauses the endless booting process.
I just bought a N750 DB router. On boot up, the 5Ghz side will show up for about 20-30 seconds and then it just "disappears". I was even able to connect to it @ 300mb with my laptop. The 2.4Ghz shows up just fine.
I have an Acer Aspire 5517 with Windows 7 Home Premium connected wirelessly to a Linksys E1000 which is connected to a surfboard modem connected to Comcast cable internet. I just picked up an HP Proliant DL360 server with no OS and no optical drive. It tries to PXE network boot when I turn it on. How do I use my Laptop to install a linux image via the network?I have read extensively about this subject for a couple of days now and jacked up my IP settings in my router as well as my network adapter a couple of times now. Everything is backed up and my original settings are written down. I have asked for advice from Microsoft and HP as well.
I have a 2 computers connected to a Linksys BEFSR41 router which is connected to a Verizon Westell DSL/Cable modem. From time to time the Ethernet link between the modem and the router spontaneously disconnects. I can reconnect the link by going to the setup menu on the router with a browser @ 192.168.1.1 Sometimes I have to do an ipconfig/release and renew to fix the link. Sometimes I have to power cycle the PC and the modem and the router.Currently this disconnect problem has gotten much worse. It occurs about every 15-20 minutes while I'm connected to the net. It also occurs when either computer is booted or turned off (I see the link light on both the modem and the router flash red for a moment).
I recently obtained a 2851 and have been battling this issue for a week now. An odd set of circumstances happen with the bootstrap startup process. If the router has loss of power or when reloaded; it fails to read the CF card and boots to rommon. I can tftp an image to it (tftpdnld -r) and IOS CAN read the flash card along with any saved configuration. In fact once in IOS, I can wr mem and print the hardware details of the CF card. Once I reload the router it goes to rommon, fails to open the flash, then sits until i tftp the image back. When the router load IOS, it also loads the startup config.I don't think it's a problem with the CF card as IOS can read it. I've tried formatting the card from IOS and from my pc as FAT, FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS - it didn't make a different. I updated the ROMMON to allow for USB booting but haven't purchased a USB Drive yet for testing. The upgrade didn't resolve this issue either. It almost seems like a firmware problem with the EPROM.
Cisco router 3945 when unpacked from the box and powered on , it was not able to find boot loader image and booted in ROMMON mode. tried to boot from the external flash and tftp but still not able to.
We replaced router chassis 2 times and both the times faced the same problem.
Getting message, cannot open "flash:" on 1841 evdo router, how do I reinstall flash? I am currently consoled into the router, the prompt is coming up as rommon 1>
I've got a 2621XM that has not been used for a while.Completely stripped of any modules and configuration files, the router will continually cycle the startup process without actually booting from the IOS.
The cycle displays the following :
System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(8r) [cmong 8r], RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) Copyright (c) 2003 by cisco Systems, Inc.
program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x10034ec
What I've tried:
1) Downloading another IOS image (c2600-is-mz.123-20.bin) via Xmodem and running "confreg 0x2102" from the rommon. All that did is change the last message to "program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x10fa95c"
2) Running the command "boot flash:c2600-is-mz.123-20.bin". If I enable the diagnostics via rommon, the cycle expands to:
System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(8r) [cmong 8r], RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) Copyright (c) 2003 by cisco Systems, Inc. program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x10fa95c Testing lower main memory - data equals address Testing lower main memory - checkerboard

If it wasn't for the lack of error messages, I would assume it was a hardware issue. If the image was corrupted, I would expect a message indicating that the image couldn't be read.
When I look at the local area connection the status is acquiring network address and just sits there. When I try to repair, it states that windows couldn't finishing repairing because it can't renew my IP address.
Last night we had some pretty bad lightning and thunder and our Linksys WAG160N appears to have had a bit of a fright. As I was going round unplugging items in case of a hit (this was after a flash or two, relatively nearby), all the lights on the router were off except for the ethernet light (plugged into a Linksys homeplug adaptor). Now the router doesn't appear to boot. When powered on, the power light doesn't flash or anything to indicate booting up, all you get is the ethernet light (if connected) after a few seconds, but no activity. I'm presuming something has been fried or corrupted? I'm not sure if we did have a power spike either through the mains or phone line as all other equipment seems to be fine, but I'm wondering the the homeplug connection might of had something to do with it after reading a few posts from others on the subject.I've held in the reset button while starting and it doesn't appear to have done anything. I will try the 30/30/30 reset tonight.
I recently received these routers and after the first reboot I changed the user id and password so it does not lock out...After configuring my routers for installation, upon bootup I am getting this message scroll down my screen

I've inherited a 7206VXR router and it takes very long to boot. It outputs READonly ROMMON initialized to the console and 14 minutes later it continues the boot process. After 17+ minutes the boot is complete with the correct full image. The processing engine I have is the NPE-G1 and I'm looking for an upgradeable ROMMON image or a reason why the boot is taking this long.
What would happen if I installed a 32MB (MEM870-32F=) flash upgrade card in to a Cisco 871 router that already had 28MB flash on-board already? Would the router boot seeing 52MB (the max this router can have) or would it fail completely since the combined total would be over 52MB?
I know you can get a 24MB upgrade card but they are quite expensive.
How do I upgrade the boot rom version on the 7200 router? I am running IOS Version 12.4(22)T and when I plug in the serial ds3 card in my router it keeps rebooting with a watch dog error ( see below). Also, what version should I upgrade to?

I lost the WEP key for my Belkin N+ wireless router.I bought a new wireless printer and cannot connect it through the router without the WEP key.How can I get the WEP key #.
I'm on talktalk and have been for a few years. They supplied me with a speedtouch 330 modem which has worked brilliantly, but now i am wanting to set up a router so i can connect to xbox live. I have a Belkin ADSl modem with wireless G router which i have tried to set up a number of times without success. I am trying to set the router up so that it has an ethernet connection to the computer and another ethernet connection to the xbox but i can't set the router up with the internet at all. To start with i am trying to set just the pc up. On the router, the power light is on, the ethernet port light is on, as is the wireless and the phone line one, but the internet light isn't on at all.
my Belkin routers wireless wont work. I tried unplugging it, resetting it, but nothing working. Ethernet is working fine, but I need wireless back ASAP.
I have had this same problem. When I clicked to connect on the wireless router with a new computer, instead of asking for the password (as most routers would) it asks for the PIN. The it takes me through to a strange page where it asks me to enter the name of the network and suggests the name of my computer as the name of the network. Once I chose a name it then connected locally buy not to the Internet and then disconnected my other computer from the Internet too. I tried thecomputerguy's suggestion but when I click on Wi-Fi Protected Set Up" it asks me for a password before I can access custom settings. It then won't accept the router password i had originally created, the pin or any of the other codes on the bottom of the router. It was weird-almost as if entering the router pin from my new computer overwrite the previous settings. The router has an installation cd which I didn't use when trying to connect the new computer-not sure if this has caused the problem?
I tried to upgrade the cisco boorloader pf WLC 4402 from version 4 to 7.2. I updated ER.Aes FOR 7.2 (EARLY RELEASE.aes). It was updated perfectly and then I rebooted controller....now i can only see blank screen from connected console.I tried the flash of other lan controller but its not working because the issue is in the ROM as the boadloader file is in the ROM which is corrupted now i want the solution to upgrade the boatloader file inside the ROM.
I've been configuring hundreds of 3602i APs via Prime without incident, but I've encountered 2 APs that get to the ap: prompt and doesn't proceed further. If I type boot, then they'll complete the boot process.
How do I configure these 2 APs so they will automatically boot fully?
I've got a Belkin G wireless router.I've got my Vaio with windows 7 , my other emachines with vista and another acer laptop in the house also on vista/All laptops can connect to the router and internet fine but when I password protect the WI-FI the ACER aspire won't connect to the router, while the other 2 and also a ps3 all connect with the password no problems.
My computer crashed the other day and HDD failed. i finally got it back up and running but ive been using a usb wireless adapter. i do not have the disk anymore to install the drivers, nor will my computer install them from the internet because i dont have an internet connection on my desktop. what are my options to have them installed?
I have a Belkin wireless router attached to my computer. It was set up as an access point, with an IP address of 192.168.0.254. I had some problems with the network today and could not access this unit by typing in the IP in my browser. I feel certain that is the IP address I put in it when setting it up, as I have a record I kept of all the settings. Is there a way to retrieve the IP address to verify that is what it is set to?
