When I look at the local area connection the status is acquiring network address and just sits there. When I try to repair, it states that windows couldn't finishing repairing because it can't renew my IP address.
View 7 RepliesMy pc is windows xp an has service pack 3, the adaptor is realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. I have 3 gig of memory and a very larg nvidia card. OK my pc has worked absolutely fine until this weekend when my sister came and her son was on my pc when everyone was in bed. He attempted to print of not less than 88!! pictures he had acquired from different sites but i had disconnected the printer so it didnt take place. When they left earlier today i switched on my pc and there was a virus alert so i ran a scan. These got put into the chest. I then attemtpted to close down the programmes that had come back up when i switched on and this is when it happened. The pc told me it was going to shut down and when it restarted i had not internet connection. I checked the modem and the ethernet light is out.

One of the main fixes (that i havnt managed to get to work) is ipconfig /release/renew, both come up with "an error occurred while releasing interface loopback pseudo-interface : the system cannot find the file specified file" and "an error occurred while renewing interface local area connection : an address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint"?

I recently installed a Dell 5324 switch as my main switch and it's my first time using a managed switch at home. One thing I've seen as an issue in a corporate environment, and now here, is that managed switches tend to take a bit longer for a port to be active. Ex: a PC is turned off, I turn it on but if the PC boots up very fast the port may not be ready. All mounts fail. This is the issue I am facing with my HTPC. It runs Linux and has a SSD, and it has no UEFI bios to slow it down (which is good, I hate UEFI for that) so it's up and running within 5-10 seconds of pushing the power button. The network mappings fail because the port is not ready by the time it gets to the script that mounts everything.

I have installed an Aironet 1130AG and utilized a power injector for the power source. I have the settings configured correctly in IOS, but the AP takes about 7 minutes to come on (illuminate LED status lights) once the Ethernet cable is connected. Is this 7 minute power-on delay normal when using POE? I am used to the instanteous "on" that usually comes with Cisco products being connected directly to the AC adapter.

I have a WUSB600N version 1, with the newest driver (offical 3.0.10.0), my Windows 7 Ultimate installation has the proper regional settings, and within the driver setting the Linksys device has the correct country region (#1, 1-13).However, I am unable to scan and connect to channels higher than 11. as tested with the network manager in windows plus inSSID scanner. My other devices on the same network see the higher channels.

After checking device manager I now have little yellow exclamation marks next to my Ethernet Controller, WAN miniport, and my Nvidia network controller.
I tried a registry clean to no avail.
I am running Windows 7 - 64 bit on my laptop. I currently have Avast Internet Security installed and I have tried to uninstall the Avast software as I wish to change my antivirus software. I have tried uninstalling in safe mode using the Avast Clear utility. Unfortunately after using this utility the Avast program still remains on my hard drive in Program Files which I then have to delete manually. After doing so and restarting my computer I have no internet connection and the only way I can restore my internet connection is by copying the Avast program back into my Program Files.

i just bought a sony lcd tv and this model can be controlled by a smartphone via an app called mediaremote. The app should scan the local network and find the tv and than, after pairing, you can use the smartphone as remote controller over Wi-Fi.
My problem is that the router block the network scan and the app can't find the tv; is there somethig i can chack in the configuration or that else to permit the local network scan?
I tried to connect tv and smartphone to the neighbour wifi and the app woks perfect so i'm sure that is a my network problem.
I added some files to the hard drive which is connected to EA4500 by USB. I went to the Storage--Media Server Tab and clicked Scan All. I turned on the TV and pointed the DLNA Media Server at the hard drive.
The new files did not show up. They did show up a few hours later. Does the Scan button do anything?
Just finished the setup for Canon MP780 USB printer to work with EA4500. Printer goes online only while it prints the pages. When I try to scan the document with MP Navigator it cannot communicate with the scanner as printer is essentially offline. How to setup the printer in order to perform the scan of the documents?

So I am having issues connecting to the internet. I can connect during safe mode but not on normal boot. I ran a diagnostic and it said that the IP Gateway failed. I read a previous post and did the command promp "ipconfig/all" and this is what it said:

Only thing I could do was to restart in safe mode and run a full AVG scan which did show viruses that were sent to virus vault. Once I restarted into normal windows mode, the computer seems to be working fine with no freezing, etc.....but my LAN connection won't work.
