I recently got multiple messages from Avast Virus giving me this message.Object: Infection URL:Mal, Process: CWINDOWSsystem32svhost.exe I have run Malewarebytes and a full boot scan with Avast and and I have not been able to get the message to stop showing up. how to stop this?
View 2 RepliesI had a hard time getting rid of Avast anti virus after the trial ran out. After finally manually deleting everything my internet gave out.
After checking device manager I now have little yellow exclamation marks next to my Ethernet Controller, WAN miniport, and my Nvidia network controller.
I tried a registry clean to no avail.
I had some issues so installed Avast, ran a scan and everything went wrong from there, suddenly dropped internet, tried system restores which failed and automatically deleted the restore points. One of the main fixes (that i havnt managed to get to work) is ipconfig /release/renew, both come up with "an error occurred while releasing interface loopback pseudo-interface : the system cannot find the file specified file" and "an error occurred while renewing interface local area connection : an address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint"?

I currently have Avast Internet Security installed and I have tried to uninstall the Avast software as I wish to change my antivirus software. I have tried uninstalling in safe mode using the Avast Clear utility. Unfortunately after using this utility the Avast program still remains on my hard drive in Program Files which I then have to delete manually. After doing so and restarting my computer I have no internet connection and the only way I can restore my internet connection is by copying the Avast program back into my Program Files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy pc is windows xp an has service pack 3, the adaptor is realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. I have 3 gig of memory and a very larg nvidia card. OK my pc has worked absolutely fine until this weekend when my sister came and her son was on my pc when everyone was in bed. He attempted to print of not less than 88!! pictures he had acquired from different sites but i had disconnected the printer so it didnt take place. When they left earlier today i switched on my pc and there was a virus alert so i ran a scan. These got put into the chest. I then attemtpted to close down the programmes that had come back up when i switched on and this is when it happened. The pc told me it was going to shut down and when it restarted i had not internet connection. I checked the modem and the ethernet light is out.

I'm pretty sure it's clean at this point, but now I've ran into the problem of not getting any internet from my ethernet cord. I've tried plugging in another and it gave me the same problem. I've tried running WinSock hoping it was just a registry problem I could fix, but that didn't seem to work. View 5 Replies View Relatedusing virus scanner over the network and this is related to my workplace. a pc with win xp can share all drives (including c:) over the network with another pc with win xp as well. let's say pc1 and pc2 (both with win xp). i can scan pc2 from pc1 once i hv shared all the drives. but for win vista n 7, i found out that it is not possible to share c:...yes, there are some ways to share it but the entire c: cannot be shared. n i also know that c: cannot be shared entirely due to security purposes. but can i bypass this only for virus scanning purpose? i know many will juz ask me to install the anti virus on the infected pc, but if possible i want to scan it over the network. if i hv to scan 20 PCs at the same time i find it easier to do it from a single pc than to install the anti-virus at every single pc.

I called my internet provider and we spent hours trying to figure it out and it wouldnt work. So they told me it was the computer. my daughter got a new laptop and we plugged the cable into her computer and the internet worked perfectly. I contacted emachines but they charge me for customer service.

Computer is now showing nonsigns of the virus but Internet is unable to connect to the wireless. My regular virus protection isn't working well either, it won't let me scan my computer and real-time scanning keeps turning off after I set it on.

a) IE shows "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
b) MSN and Skype do not seem to respond as well
c) My laptop is connected to a router and I'm able to access other PC on the LAN, but not anything requires internet access
d) The LAN icon on the taskbar shows my PC is connected to both the router and the internet (but internet just somehow doesnt work)
e) Proxy option isn't enabled
f) Booted my Win Vista in Safe Mode with Networking, internet doesnt work as well
g) output from ipconfig seems ok; able to ping gateway ip
h) checked the list of network services posted on this thread; they're all started
i) Removed my antivirus program and disabled windows firewall; to no avail as well
j) MSN repair suggests that there's firewall/ dns issue that causes MSN couldnt connect
k) Both wired and wireless connections used to work; but both not working now
l) Other PCs on the LAN are able to connect to internet
I had virus called Anti Malaware Doctor. Its a nasty trojan virus. Managed to clear up with Malaware bites and Hijack this but now the internet is down. Some drivers seems to be mising

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter getting virus and cleaning the system as requested, including all of the registry items not required, I have been unable to get onto the internet.Bad Image Error.I have a Mesh PC, running XP SP3.The motherboard is MS-7207 ver2.I've tried reinstalling the ethenet drivers but to no avail.I can see the network adapter in the control panel and it says the drivers are installed OK.The green light comes on when the cable is plugged in but not the yellow data lamp.I have a second hard drive from an old PC that I reinstalled windows on booted from, I updated the drivers and successfully connected to the internet, which proves all the hardware and drivers do work, but just not on my main hard drive containing my proper windows install.I'm logging this fault on my work laptop as its the only way I can get on line. (My work laptop works at home over the same broadband connection I have used previously.

So I had a virus that was making it impossible for me to open a web browser without it starting a fake security scan and spamming my screen with multiple browsers. I had no other choice but to do a system restore since I had this problem in the past and a system restore fixed my computer. But, after the system restore, I can connect to the network using a wireless, but when I try to open any browser(firefox/internet explorer) it says internet explorer cannot display the webpage or server not found on firefox. I've tried resetting my internet settings, but no luck. I also don't have an internet security anymore since I was trying to install Kaspersky, but kept having trouble installing it properly.

After running my malware anti-virus and removing all the virus, my Local Area Connection keeps saying network cable unplugged. I checked the network adapters and everything is fine. View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I updated an adobe flash and it installed McAfee Security Scan Plus on my computer. My wife used my computer to access her work email and gmail. This morning I woke up and uninstalled McAfee and now my internet is not working. Seems I am still connected to the network and all other computers connect just fine to my internet, like this laptop I am using now, just not my desktop. The first thing I noticed was that bitdefender was saying "svchost.exe has been terminated because it was deemed harmful by Active Virus Control". Upon investigating this, I ran an ipconfig release and renew. Now the yellow triangle with exclamation mark is gone and my Wireless Network Connection shows I am connected "with internet" however, I cannot use the internet. Even my weather gadget does not work.I found this website and looked at some of the suggestions.
