Intel GT 1000 NIC / XP Pro SP3 PC - Driver Update Fail
Nov 12, 2011I have an Intel GT 1000 NIC installed in my XP Pro SP3 PC.I downloaded the driver update file for this NIC: "PROWin32.exe", version 16.6, dated 9/30/2011 for Windows XP 32 bit.The install failed with the following error message: I emailed these details to Intel Tech Support but have not yet heard back from them.
I searched my PC for "VC90_CRT_x86" and found it in many *.cab files but not as a single file anywhere else on my computer. How to get the new driver to install? I'm using the GT 1000 because the Realtek NIC that is on my MOBO failed a couple of years ago.

Feb 23, 2013I have done a firmware update at my repeater F5D8233-4. But now I have no access to the webGUI of the repeater. The SSID can be found and I can access the network. But I cannot connect a 2nd repeater now. How can I reset the old firmware?

The IE screen mentioned update was ok(Firmware update successful:The camera will now reboot, please wait for 0 seconds) but my IP camera never come back after reboot! the red light in front never goes off. The camera is connected to my Windows 7 PC directly through a a network cable. no able to rest the camera as well .

Jan 2, 2012I encountered a similar problem of no internet after virus removal.
a) IE shows "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
b) MSN and Skype do not seem to respond as well
c) My laptop is connected to a router and I'm able to access other PC on the LAN, but not anything requires internet access
d) The LAN icon on the taskbar shows my PC is connected to both the router and the internet (but internet just somehow doesnt work)
e) Proxy option isn't enabled
f) Booted my Win Vista in Safe Mode with Networking, internet doesnt work as well
g) output from ipconfig seems ok; able to ping gateway ip
h) checked the list of network services posted on this thread; they're all started
i) Removed my antivirus program and disabled windows firewall; to no avail as well
j) MSN repair suggests that there's firewall/ dns issue that causes MSN couldnt connect
k) Both wired and wireless connections used to work; but both not working now
l) Other PCs on the LAN are able to connect to internet

May 18, 2011my computer cannot access Internet at all. It finds all the wireless routers and can connect to them, but says that the router cannot access Internet. However, it can. All other devices connected to the router have full Internet access. I've tries rebooting computer, rebooting router, reconnecting to router, reinstalling wireless Internet driver, but still nothing

May 24, 2011SG200-08 and SG200-08P fail to hold or update Date/Time.(New installation for a UC320 setup.)I've got both an SG200-08 and SG200-08P that are failing to maintain date/time when set with "Use Local Settings". Every restart/powercycle causes them to reset to Dec 31 1969. Other settings save fine.I first tried to set time via SNTP Unicast using a variety of public time server addresses including the 3 hard coded to the SG200-08 firmware:
Sadly though it always just shows "Active Server Server Host Address: 0.0.0.0" and continues having 12/31/1969 as the date. Both after a config save and a reboot.I can ping the NTP servers just fine from the switches either by IP or by hostname.At this point I've decided that I must be missing something simple. At least I hope so... otherwise it's a firmware bug which means waiting for a fix.Other devices behind the same firewall/gateway (RVS4000) are updating NTP

Aug 11, 2011My computer's virus protection expired so I Googled a free one and downloaded it without doing much research on it. It contained a virus and now it's disrupting my computer. I ran Microsoft essentials security and found malware and it removed all threats. The virus is disrupting my connection to the Google server. I cannot use google web, images, or mail but I can maps. Wireless Connection Quit Working After Windows Update?
Aug 19, 2012My wife's computer was working fine. Two nights ago, a Windows update was automatically installed. Now, it will not connect to the internet. The map shows it connected to the network. We have several other devices on our network both wired and wireless and all of them are working fine.
I was able to use system restore yesterday to roll back the update. It still did not work. However, I tried connecting to a neighbor's wireless. It said something about refreshing the adapter and then it connected to our network and was working fine. Unfortunately, when she shut down last night, the windows update was reapplied. I turned off automatic updates and tried using system restore. It did not work this time. I removed every update that was applied in the last 48 hours but I still cannot get the computer to connect to the internet. However, it does connect to the internet when I bring it up in Safe Mode.

Feb 22, 2012We have two Cisco 2960 TT-L switches. I'd like to reduce single points of failure and have dual servers for most tasks. For example, two firewall servers and two web servers. Should one server fail the other will act as a failover.I'd like to extend the redundancy to the switches, and am thinking of connecting one web server to one switch, and one to the other. In the event a switch failed a set of servers would still run, and be able to talk to each other.I'd like to run two VLANs, one for the LAN, and one of the WAN, and connect the two VLANs on each of the switches with the associated VLAN on the other switch.

May 23, 2011I am trying to configure a Cisco ASA 5505 for Remote Clients.I am using ASDM interface and used the startup and ipsec wizards for my configuration but im hitting a stumbling block.For the last 2 days i have tried a number of configuration changes in attempt to make this work but failed, so i have done a factory reset and gone through the wizards again, so i have a clean configuration. Currently i have a Static Public IP Address 81.137.x.x and i am using a Netgear ADSL router, which is forwarding VPN traffic (UDP 500) to 192.168.171.35 (the wan port on the ASA 5505).The Cisco ASA has a default address of 192.168.1.1 I am using Cisco Client 5.0.06.0160.I have configured the client to use Group Authentication with the same credentials as setup through the wizard and im using Transparent Tunneling IPSec over UDP.I have attached 2 documents running_config.txt - which is shows the current ASA configuration Log-View.txt - showing error messages displayed in the real-time log viewer when i try to connect from the remote client.Im not sure whether i need to do any additional configurations for my setup other than simply run the wizards.

Other problem is that when I tried to update the firmware, it simple don’t update. I’ve downloaded the last firmware file from Cisco’s page.

My friend who has an HP on Win7 was able to connect. I asked him how and he said something about changing the properties of the network card so it was on cisco. May 5, 2012I have "ESPRIMO Mobile V6555" Laptop, running Windows XP SP3, with which the wireless network adapter worked fine before. Now, after I bought a new router (TBLink) my laptop cannot access internet through this router wirless netowrk, and cannot even make ping command to the router address.I tried many things to work around this problem: reinstall the driver of Wireless adapter, change the connection setting on both router and computer, cleaning ARP Cash ...etc.
1) the router works fine for other wireless devices like my HTC widows mobile phone and other laptop running Windows 7.
2) When I assign a static IP for my laptop it can connect to the network but still could not make the ping command to the router or reach any network resources.
3) I have Bitdefender Internet Security running and up to date.

May 28, 2012, I am trying to change the default IP address in vlan 1 on a cisco 861 but everything I do so my connection via SSH hangs and all ssh/telnet attempts are refused.
my commands are as followed:
int vlan 1
ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
[hangs]
my current vlan 1 address is 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
my vlan1pool on dhcp
is an address range of 192.168.1.0/24
do i need to update something in the authenication to allow connections from 192.168.1.0/24 instead of 10.10.10.0/24
No Internet After Virus
Dec 11, 2011I'm having is I used to have a virus on my computer, until running a number of scanners to get it off. I'm pretty sure it's clean at this point, but now I've ran into the problem of not getting any internet from my ethernet cord. I've tried plugging in another and it gave me the same problem. I've tried running WinSock hoping it was just a registry problem I could fix, but that didn't seem to work. I also tried running "ipconfig /all" in my command prompt and got this error: [code] I'm running Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2.I'm at the point where I'm considering just reinstalling Windows, but I figured I might as well ask someone who knows better than I do of a better alternative.

Sep 22, 2011using virus scanner over the network and this is related to my workplace. a pc with win xp can share all drives (including c:) over the network with another pc with win xp as well. let's say pc1 and pc2 (both with win xp). i can scan pc2 from pc1 once i hv shared all the drives. but for win vista n 7, i found out that it is not possible to share c:...yes, there are some ways to share it but the entire c: cannot be shared. n i also know that c: cannot be shared entirely due to security purposes. but can i bypass this only for virus scanning purpose? i know many will juz ask me to install the anti virus on the infected pc, but if possible i want to scan it over the network. if i hv to scan 20 PCs at the same time i find it easier to do it from a single pc than to install the anti-virus at every single pc.

Sep 27, 2011After getting virus and cleaning the system as requested, including all of the registry items not required, I have been unable to get onto the internet.Bad Image Error.I have a Mesh PC, running XP SP3.The motherboard is MS-7207 ver2.I've tried reinstalling the ethenet drivers but to no avail.I can see the network adapter in the control panel and it says the drivers are installed OK.The green light comes on when the cable is plugged in but not the yellow data lamp.I have a second hard drive from an old PC that I reinstalled windows on booted from, I updated the drivers and successfully connected to the internet, which proves all the hardware and drivers do work, but just not on my main hard drive containing my proper windows install.I'm logging this fault on my work laptop as its the only way I can get on line. (My work laptop works at home over the same broadband connection I have used previously.
