I have F9K1112 router(#1) connected to my Mototola SB6120-Modem. I connected a F7D6301 V3 router(#2) to router #1 To extend the network. But it does not work. What settings do i need to set on router number 2 for it to provide me extended service?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded my internet provider to BT and received a BT Home Hub 3 as the new wireless router.Previous to this I was using a wireless Belkin G + MIMO ADSL router (model number F5D9630-4).There are places in the house where the wireless signal is very poor. Connecting to the internet using either of these routers is difficult in these spots. However, since the Belkin is now spare, I've been thinking about trying to use it as a low cost repeater (i.e. free) to extend the wireless range in the house.There are several good articles that I've found on this site which address the connection of two routers together (e.g. John Will's article on connecting two SOHO routers is a good example), but they rely on an ethernet connection between the two routers. Any way to establish a wireless link between the two routers to extend the range of the current wireless network.

I had to change something, im not sure what it was. it was like WPA or WAP. now it wont let me go to my router settings 192.168.2.1 in the address bar is how i have been getting to it. now it just takes me to a OOPS google chrome cannot open this web page..... I just want to restore the router to it factory default settings. it will let this laptop on and another one in the house but not an older one we have which runs Windows XP. View 1 Replies View RelatedAm running firmware ver 1.00.19. Set up DDNS with DynDns.Org and all is well. Set up virtual server with DDNS info. Trying to connect to an IPcam (Foscam 8905W). IPcam is set up with static IP with ip outside Belkins DHCP range.
Problem: When trying to access the IPcam through the internet (DynDns) Belkin takes me right to the Belkin router Setup screen, not to the virtual server settings (IPcam). I was able to do it a couple of months ago,but not now. I may have upgraded my firmware in that time from 1.00.12.
Recently switched DSL providers and now have Cisco modem DPC3008. Able to connect to internet directly thru modem. Able to connect wired or wireless to router. Unable to get router to connect to internet via modem. Tried restart, reset, and new set-up. Called ISP (Charter) - no way, said contact Belkin.

We had a 2nd router laying around as well as a 2nd wireless adapter so we set up a 2nd network that was not connected to the internet for strictly media streaming.I attempted to change the network settings so the internet connection appeared as a public network so that streaming of media was hopefully diverted to the non internet wireless adapter.I want a faster way of transferring large video files from my laptop to my desktop. I recently bought a crossover cable to do this through direct connection.Both use the same user name and password as well as run the same win 7 pro however the desktop is the 64 bit version. I set up both ipv4 with the same addresses.When it has worked I am only getting a connection speed of just over 10mb and once I connect the crossover cable between the computers it knocks out my internet connection on the wireless card.

When the router is restarted using the menu software it will run quicker, but only for 20-30 second then back to a slow speed. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have wireless router F5D9230-4. I use this every day to connect to my employer's corporate network from my home, using a VPN connection via Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client.
Just about every day my VPN connection is interrupted and, although it "thinks" it is connected, it loses connectivity to my company's corporate resources. This occurs even though I'm connected to my router using a Cat5 cable. While this VPN connection is lost, my Internet connection keeps working.
When I use the same computer, even wireless, connected through other networks outside of my home, the VPN connection is never lost (or at least never that I remember).
When I wire my computer directly to my cable modem, this problem does not occur and my VPN connection stays connected throughout the day.
Note that I reset my wireless router to all default settings other than the password to access its management utility, to avoid any "weird settings" coming into play.
I wonder if this has to do with "VPN Passthrough" or the windows 7 firewall conflicting with my router's firewall?
I've been working with the IT department at my job for weeks on this and a resolution doesn't seem to be coming from that direction. I'm on calls every day that use this VPN connection and it's to the point where these VPN connection losses are embarrassing to me.
My N150 wireless router sees 25mb+ speed from my internet connection but my wireless connects at 1mb. Why is the WiFi being resricted?

I can successfully connect to the internet directly from the modem or if I connect to the modem to the router and then to my computer via ethernet cable. I cannot for the life of me connect wirelessly with any devices. The router previously worked when it was hooked up to comcast internet, but it was moden->router->my router. When I connect wirelessly on my Windows 7 laptop, it says I connect and that there is internet access. But when I try to load a page it takes me direclty to this website: url.. Comcast says that it is my router that needs configuring properly with xfinity and wants to charge me $39 to provide this wonderful service.

View 0 Replies View RelatedN600DB - Currently configured with primary computer hardwired to router, 1 laptop via WiFi, a Network booster used by iPhone/iPads and every time I wake the primary computer I get the Router Monitor alert that my internet connection has failed. By the way, I am currently using the primary computer to post this and the Belkin Router Monitor still says my "internet connection has failed" and An Internet connection cannot be established at this time. Re-booting your router may solve this problem, but you will temporarily lose your connection during the reboot.
