Broadband :: Cannot Access Internet And Network With Any Program

I have two windows.Windows XP and seven.My Windows XP cant connect to the internet.I was downloading a file With IE when my ISP experienced problems and my internet was shut down.Internet explorer was not responding and finally crashed my whole computer.from then on no programs like IE ,Google Chrome , Firefox or even VPN and Dial-up connections can get me connected to the internet. I installed windows seven and internet works fine there but MANY of my programs are on the xp and i'm more familiar with that windows. How to connect that to the internet? [code]

connect new computer running windows 7 to small peer to peer network...modem to connect to interenet is speadstream 5660...network works fine but cannot access internet...i works great in my office with a different modem...i can access the windows 7 computer remotely using go to assist also...trying to find out if there are issues with windows 7 and the speedstream 5660 modem...

I am a part of small IT company and I need to know if there's a good program I can get to control file access on the network.
Here is my scenario : 5 users on a network with their own workstations, IT Technicians, Sales and Marketing, Admin, HR and Manager...All these users need to access different files on the network so here is what I want, I need for the IT guy to log on into his PC and only see files that he needs on his account and the same thing should apply for other users on their accounts..They should only see files and folders that are relevant to them.
Which program can I get to ensure I achieve this?

I have two PCs with the same problem. The ethernet port on the motherboard does not recognize an Internet connection. I'm running Win 7 64 bit Pro on both. My older PC needs to have the enternet cable disconnected before Windows boots, then once the OS is all booted, I plug the ethernet cable back in and I get an internet connection. On my new PC, I had to go into Device Manager and delete the ethernet card ( not the drivers) then reboot. Windows then recognized the card and connection and the Internet works. What is causing this? One PC is an Intel I-7 quad core, the new one is an Intel I-7 six core. Both hardwired to the Belkin N router. My old XP PCs do not have this problem.

I was able to go onto the internet with no problem. I've been searching forums trying to solve my problem but to no avail. I have Windows XP installed, I can connect to the LAN network but I cannot go online. I can ping the gateway but not the DNS as well as other address name or ip address. This is the output of ipconfig /all:

laptop access (via wireless router) to program data resident on my PC. The subject program is installed (frequently updated) on my PC (Windows XP). Laptop (also Windows XP) use of this data for viewing and printing is the objective -- without also installing the program on the laptop. (The catch is frequent updates.)
Both units have access to broadband; direct for PC and wireless router for the laptop. Have no problem also installing program on laptop, if needed: laptop access to current data is the issue. Even doing so via internet would be great. It seems that LAN and Broadband networks are both in play though I don't quite grasp any inherent conflicts.

I have owned my Acer Aspire 6920 for about a year. Today, it will not access the internet on our wireless setup. The other computers in the house aren't having a problem getting on the web. This has happened once before, but I can't remember exactly how I fixed it at that time, naturally. The blinking light on the right side of the keyboard that indicates the network adaptor and modem are working isn't blinking today. It is a solid light. I have tried rebooting, shutting down for a while, etc., with no luck.

I have a Airtel Internet Broadband connection and I have a lan having around 10 workstations. I have another computer which I want to use as a server through which all the internet traffic will pass. The server has two lan cards(one on motherboard and other one is usb).I have connected broadband modem to lancard1(on motherboard) and have connected the lancard2(usb) to the lan switch.Now how to proceed further, so that internet service is available on all the workstations connected to the lan switch.

I fought with trying to hang two old BEFSR41 routers on an incoming TWC cable internet. I have a couple of streams going out and one coming in... and I think there are some collissions going on that cause little Urps in the streams. I thought I could put them on two different subnets. Ha. No luck at all so far. The scheme they gave me used a fixed IP and a subnet of 255.255.255.252... now I think I understand why TWC assigned a subnet of 255....252 - so I could only use ONE router. Their little toy is still routing, mine does it's thing.. that's it. In order to add another router and a totally different group of PC's on the same bandwidth... I'd have to get into their box and change the subnet scheme to something more open.. 255.....248, or maybe back down to 255...255.0 I guess..

i have a BSNL Broadband connection (1st Connection- input via RJ11-telephone line) thru ADSL2 + modem and now i have another Internet connection provided by another ISP(2nd Connection input via DSL - RJ45) thru Asus RT-N10E WireLess router for backup in case 1st ISP fails. now when 1st fails i have to switch to 2nd one manualy.s there a way by which my computer could switch over automatically to 2nd or visa versa to have a seemless connection.2nd issue related to it is that i have my n/w sharedrive and n/w printer connected (Wired) thru 1st Connection. when i switch to 2nd Connection i can only access internet connection but the n/w printer and shared drive are not available.

I have am unable to access the Internet via my modem and router. My computer recognized the connection from my router. My modem is a Motorola 12DVC. My router is a Linksys Broadband Wireless-B BEFW11S4 version 4. I tried several things, including changes via 192.168.1.1. I am using an AT&T DSL connection. The router has only been used one time.

i am trying to configure Cisco 861 router for simple internet access using my broadband connection. despite of all my efforts, I am not able to browse any site from my directly connected PC having IP address 192.168.1.254/24. but I can ping all internet destinations from router prompt. I believe, I am having problem in NAT becuase I do not see any stats or translations. I have attached the output of running configuration, sh version, sh ip nat stat, sh ip nat trans and sh ip route.

I have a program Eric's Movie Data Base. It needs to go to IMDB to update very often.On my XP there is no problem, it connects quickly every timeHowever I need to run it on my laptop with vista with a wireless connection.Using Vista the program EMDB runs ok but cannot connect to the IMDB site via the program.I have checked and firewall is off, and UAC also.As xp has no problem ( both are usin the same router) I can only assume Vista is blocking it.The request is reaching my modem, and the router is not using any port forwarding.Error message in log isFIREWALL replay check (1 of 24): Protocol: ICMP Src ip: 94.64.148.77 Dst ip: 58.166.25.196 Type: Destination Unreachable Code: Port UnreacheableI have contacted the developer who says the program is using the IE engine.

recommendations on a hardware/software inventory tool that comes with an agent.I manage a windows network of about 150 machines and would like to be able to install the agent on each machine and then get an overview of all the machines on the network with list all their installed hardware and software. Also we have laptops that leave the network. I would like them to "phone home" once in a while to check in.The reason I'm looking for an agent vs agent-less is I don't want to have to poke hole in the local firewalls or have to configure remote access per machine. Just looking to deploy the agent. Spiceworks almost does all this but doesn't have a stable agent yet as far as I know.

I have 4 computers (3 laptops, 1 desktop) in a shared office. We get internet access using their wireless network. All works fine. However, I need to share a printer amongst all of the computers. The printer is LAN enabled and I would normally just put all the PCs on a hub, together with the printer and share it that way. BUT my question is can we access the internet using the wireless network and the printer using a separate wired network at the same time?

I am connected to my network wirelessly and I have Internet acces (according to the symbol at the bottom right) bu the Internet doesn't work. At the moment it keeps fluctuating between giving me interne and not I am using Skype to tell me if I have Internet ( when it's green I do when it's grey I don't) I have tried many things on forums like obtaining ip automatically or obtaining a fixed ip. I have been using a laptop to stream videos through my xbox for over 2years until recently. I setup a wireless network in the house to do this. All was fine until 3 days ago.I use a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7. I have a Dell Wireless 1397 Minicard, a cisco router (model #2425). Since my laptop was infected by Malware, my network has not worked since. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware to get rid of it and it appeared to work. I got internet access back. However, I still cannot connect to my network (visible in the Available Network list as normal) or stream any media.Windows Media Centre also has stopped opening and gives me the small box saying 'windows is checking for a solution', then closes with nothing. I can however open WMC if I right click and 'run as administrator'?! I have disabled all other network adaptors, only the Dell minicad is enabled and also tried disabling and enabling this main one with no effect. All problems point to the fact that my laptop can no longer connect to the home network but I cant figure out why?!Another (possibly unrelated) problem is occuring at boot up where I get an error message saying 'Bluetooth Software License not found. [2]' - Again this never happened before the Malware infection.
