Like January 1970 or some such. Then I looked around and saw that date/time for the router was wrong. ("Current Router Time"). So i set up Enable NTP Server (Tools->Time->AUTOMATIC TIME CONFIGURATION).Ever since doing that I haven't had a single loss of wireless connectivity. Rock solid. For weeks now.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am trying to track down a problem I am having with one laptop. Other wireless devices on the network are not showing the same problem. Connecting to the router by ethernet resolves the problem.Over a 120 second period, the wireless connection drops and reconnects several times. Each time it drops it almost immediately picks up and re-connects. The "down time" is usually between 5 and 20 seconds.I have updated the driver for the wireless card (it was out of date) but this did not resolve.
Reading posts here - I see you typically need to see a WiFi inspector screen shot - which I have attached. You can see a couple of "drops" on the graph.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT54GL that I bought about 2 months ago, and I've had nothing but problems with the wi-fi since I started using it. It works as normal about 90% of the time, but usually 50+ times per day, I won't be able to connect to the router wirelessly (with ANY device, no matter how close I am to the router) for 1 to 2 minutes. The fact that I can't connect to the router with ANY devices during these times leads me to believe that the problem lies with the router itself. Another thing to note is that the wired connection to the router works just fine during these wireless outages.
I've tried changing channels and upgrading the firmware, but nothing has changed. Did I just get a bad router?
Have a MacBook and using Firefox. All lights on the router and modem are green. Does the same thing no matter what distance laptop is from router/modem. Seems to do it in 2-3 minute intervals.

Most network clients don't notice the drop because it reconnects, but the X11 windows server running over a VPN drops the session and I have to re-establish it. Also, at the same time I experience a 15-20 second silence gap on my VoIP phone connected to vonage (not over VPN). Never happened on my Linksys router, but it happens many times a day on the rv220w. When the drop happens I get the errors listed below in the router log:

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have two PCs with the same problem. The ethernet port on the motherboard does not recognize an Internet connection. I'm running Win 7 64 bit Pro on both. My older PC needs to have the enternet cable disconnected before Windows boots, then once the OS is all booted, I plug the ethernet cable back in and I get an internet connection. On my new PC, I had to go into Device Manager and delete the ethernet card ( not the drivers) then reboot. Windows then recognized the card and connection and the Internet works. What is causing this? One PC is an Intel I-7 quad core, the new one is an Intel I-7 six core. Both hardwired to the Belkin N router. My old XP PCs do not have this problem.

The other computers in the house aren't having a problem getting on the web. This has happened once before, but I can't remember exactly how I fixed it at that time, naturally. The blinking light on the right side of the keyboard that indicates the network adaptor and modem are working isn't blinking today. It is a solid light. i am trying to configure Cisco 861 router for simple internet access using my broadband connection. despite of all my efforts, I am not able to browse any site from my directly connected PC having IP address 192.168.1.254/24. but I can ping all internet destinations from router prompt. I believe, I am having problem in NAT becuase I do not see any stats or translations. I have attached the output of running configuration, sh version, sh ip nat stat, sh ip nat trans and sh ip route.

Everything will be working fine but as soon as I try to load two things at once (or sometimes even one big thing) it will show that little yellow exclamation mark and say no access to internet even though it is still connected to the network. The other computers connected to the wireless work fine with no access issues so I know it is not the router. Also this happened in my previous home where I used wireless but from a different provider so it is definitely something wrong with the computer. Every time it goes to no internet access if I disconnect and then reconnect it works again.

My wireless internet constantly disconnects and then reconnects right away for seemingly no reason. I can't find a pattern, sometimes I have no dropouts for 6 hours, sometimes it happens every 20-30 seconds for a few minutes. I've checked online and i tried to do some research on it but i couldnt find an answer, i remember typing something into the cmd and it said that something was disables, just cant remember what i typed into the cmd. Also, when my ISP raises the network speed, my router or whatever it is can't handle it so i disconnect and have to call them to set it down.

Instead, I have a quick question - there are 7 computers in this house (excluding iphones etc), and the speed we pay for is up-to 50MBPS. Am I correct in thinking that this should be more than enough speed for all computers to be active on the internet without issue - including using Skype/Streaming TV etc? How exactly does a router distribute the broadband connection? This one is mainly out of curiosity, but occasionally I will find that the computer next to me has no issues streaming a TV program, but that my own computer won't even load the page.

I've been having a hassle trying to get my connection stable.At first I thought it was because the DHCP was causing anything connected to the router to conflict, so I set one of the PCs on the network outside the DHCP range with a static IP and gave it the Google DNS, while this worked for my PS3(connected wirelessly) it did not solve the problem with this PC. I've looked around on the internet for the past few days trying to fix it, and tried several things, but no avail. I'm beginning to think I may need to just buy a whole new router from another company, because after reading reviews on this router I got, it seems to be a big problem for a lot of people, while it seems to happen on a number of other brand routers as well, so I don't want to give up on this thing just yet.
