I fought with trying to hang two old BEFSR41 routers on an incoming TWC cable internet. I have a couple of streams going out and one coming in... and I think there are some collissions going on that cause little Urps in the streams. I thought I could put them on two different subnets. Ha. No luck at all so far. The scheme they gave me used a fixed IP and a subnet of 255.255.255.252... now I think I understand why TWC assigned a subnet of 255....252 - so I could only use ONE router. Their little toy is still routing, mine does it's thing.. that's it. In order to add another router and a totally different group of PC's on the same bandwidth... I'd have to get into their box and change the subnet scheme to something more open.. 255.....248, or maybe back down to 255...255.0 I guess..
Can I have 2 Internet providers?I've been with Orange broadband for a few months and it's been unusably slow, so we're cancelling the contract and changing to Sky. Orange are making us trouble-shoot before this can happen, so the preference would be to install Sky, leave the Orange router unplugged and ignore it until the contract ends. Is this realistic? I know both couldn't use the line at the same time, but could we just unplug our Orange router or would it create slow down or not work at all?
I just upgraded my ACS v4.0 to the latest available version v4.2(1) build 15 patch 2 and I've got some trouble with the CSLog service. I performed a successive upgrade first to v4.2 then to v4.2.1 and finally applied the two patches. Everything is working fine, I'm using both radius and tacacs services and they doing great like they were in v4.0. The only problem I have is with Cslog service which doesn't start. To be accurate, it starts but stops just after. I've uploaded some logs from cslog.log in cslog/logs directory.
I have a problem with my home network/internet - I have a working wireless network that I have used for some time now and it works just fine. the problem is that internet restrictions where I live require me to register each unit to the building network before I can gain access to the internet. My caretaker told me today that normally, I only should register my primary computer and the wireless router to be able to use the internet freely. However when a new laptop appears( I have a guest), I can easily connect it to my own wireless, but it can't use the internet, as if it needed to be registered again. I ran out of registration codes and I really would like to have freedom i connection opportunities. The caretaker said that the system gives every registered unit a "fake" IP, so after giving it to mu router, all other units connected through that router should have unlimited access. Is my network configured in a wrong way? I don't know how to ask this in a more simple way... I just want to be able to connect a friends laptop to the net with just my local password, which isn't happening.
I've been able to duplicate my problem by using another WinXp computers instead of a USB drive plugged into my router. Same exact problem. So, the bottom line is that I can access (and modify) the files across the network if I'm doing so manually, but my Windows service fails when trying to do the same thing. If I run the program through Visual Studio, it works. If I run that same exact code as a Windows service, it fails.
I've created a Windows service that needs to access a common network location. To test it at home, I plugged a USB drive into my Netgear N600 WNDR3400 router. The USB storage settings show the workgroup name as Workgroup, and the file path is. [code]
So, I have this router at home a WRT150N. I put in access restrictions so my siblings won't stray onto unwanted pages.I enabled SPI Firewall Protection and what do you know, it worked. The next day though, we didn't have an internet connection.I checked everything with the modem (power cycles, etc.) and then I tried the router. Upon disabling SPI Firewall Protection, the internet connection came back.I tested it yet again, to see if it really was the SPI. Enabled and bam, no internet access again. I made sure to select "Allow" in the Access Restrictions for "Internet access during selected days and hours" making sure also that "Everyday" and "24 Hours" are selected. Now my question is, what do I need to do in order to enable my Access Restrictions without having to lose internet connection via the SPI Firewall?
I have done a ADSSO config. Following all the steps in the guide with the specifics steps for windows 7 to modify the krb.txt and the strattomcat.I restart services activate the "Enable Agent-Based Windows Single Sign-On with Active Directory (Kerberos)" option on the NAM.Then, the ADSSO service start on the NAS.I modify the local policy according to the guide allowing all encryption except the one for future use. Then the NAC client say "User unknown" contact your network administrator.
I have two NAC appliances version 4.8.2, one Manager and one Server, I want to know if the “nacagentsetup-win-18.104.22.168.tar.gz” software exists in my appliance or it’s CD or not? Should I download it?
When my client wants to download the software by clicking on “download Clean Access Agent 4.8.2” button this error appears “Failed to download (states=-2)”. I guess I should upload the software first but I don’t know how or where it is?
We have NAC 4.0.5 and windows active directory domain the clients log on to the client to access the network with their domain credentials and they used to get the "Certificate is issued from an untrusted." until I installed the url.. certificate to the local certificate store.
I seem to have done something on the NAC manager that messed up something, cause now the client considers the certificate issued from a trusted source, BUT a warning stating that the name on the certificate does not match the name.
I can't access anything on the network. The computer is a Dell running Windows Vista Home Premium. All attempts to access the network fail (ping, local shares, http) and other machines cannot access this one. Network & Sharing Center shows a fault between the Home Network and the internet, however I am unable to Ping or be Pinged by other computers on the Home Network. Other machines on the network are working fine both wired and wireless, although the machine in question is wired only (no wireless NIC).
The following items have been attempted, some many times, in no particular order, all producing no change in symptoms (not a complete list).
Network & Sharing diagnose & repair/reset NIC card. Cold boot. Last known good. Safe mode with networking support. Disable/stop all non-essential services & applications including firewall and antivirus. Upgrade network drivers.

I have a Belkin Wireless router and an Arris high speed modem from Brighthouse. recommendations on a hardware/software inventory tool that comes with an agent.I manage a windows network of about 150 machines and would like to be able to install the agent on each machine and then get an overview of all the machines on the network with list all their installed hardware and software. Also we have laptops that leave the network. I would like them to "phone home" once in a while to check in.The reason I'm looking for an agent vs agent-less is I don't want to have to poke hole in the local firewalls or have to configure remote access per machine. Just looking to deploy the agent. Spiceworks almost does all this but doesn't have a stable agent yet as far as I know.
configuring DHCP on access point, i have cisco 1142N access point, in my network.. working in autonomous mode, i have assigned a static ip to access point with default gateway.. from AP i'm able to reach internet and user connecting to access point are not able to get ip.. i have DHCP server in my network. how to make access point to fetch ip from my dhcp server and assign the saem to client.

I'm working with a 1113 ACS device running the 22.214.171.124 software. I'm trying to get multiple network device groups to use an existing Remote Agent set up for authentication against our Windows domain. For instance, we want our infrastructure switches to authenticate agains the local Active Directory and our WLC to authenticate users agains the same Active Directory. When I try and set both network device groups to use the same remote agent, it fails and reports either the host name is already in use or the IP address overlaps with an existing remote agent.
The question is:
Can I have multiple network device groups use the same remote agent? Or do I have to install the remote agent software on separate Windows servers in order to have different types of devices authenticate against the Windows AD?
When I create a service object or group and add the object to a new rule it never works.I mean the traffic match not the rule. I see not hits.I placed the rule on top of my access list to check if I do somethink wrong but it is not working. When I place only a service for example tcp/23 it is working.
We have a situation where services are stopped on the real servers. The probes fail and we confirm the services are not running on the server. We cannot access the ports from the ACE directly. We can still however acces the VIP on the TCP port (L4 VIP class-map). So we can still telnet to the VIP on the port from thr Client side of the network. This is on ACE 20 Modules deployed in Routed mode. The version of software is A2(3.3).
Tried removing multi-match and loadbalance policies as well as class-map and re-applying then re-appyling the service policy to interface. Same behavior,This is a problem at another level as some services are being monitored by GSS via TCP keep-Alive and this obviuosly causes a problem as the service then never goes off-line.
My HP laptop was working perfectly using wireless Internet but after an update of the SERVICE PACK 1 it now isn't working. It connects to the Internet but it says 'LIMITED ACCESS'. It's clearly something to do with that update as the Internet works perfectly on all over devices in the house
I have a 4402 and recently I have not been able to access the device via the service-port interface. The service-port has an IP Address and it is connected to an access port in the Vlan which I am coming from, however it cannot even ping it's gateway, which as mentioned is within the same network. When I am at the console of the controller I can ping the service-port interface IP that I have assigned, just nothing else.
