Broadband :: Suddenly Cannot Change IP Address Anymore
Jan 6, 2011
I have not changed ISPs.Yes, I have contacted my ISP about the matter, but, as expected, to no avail. No, I am not using a new modem. To my knowledge, I have made no network related changes whatsoever since the problem arose. This will certainly raise the question "Why do you need to change your IP, anyway?" Well, to be perfectly honest, the game site that I frequent has a newly implemented hacking detection system that temporarily bans a user from entering all game rooms if it detects any suspicious activity on the user's part. This system is quite fallible and hence results in many unwarranted bans daily. In the event that I am unlucky enough to fall victim to the ban hammer, I simply change my IP and continue playing.
Bought an Acer Aspire One 522 netbook 3 days ago. It's got Windows 7 Starter installed as an OS. Had no problem connecting to my home network via wireless router, but yesterday all of a sudden it stopped working. Ever since my home network no longer shows up in the "Wireless Network Connections" list at the bottom right of the taskbar. I have 2 flatmates they both have no problem connecting and my iphone 4 also finds and connects without a problem. Also I can connect via LAN cable without a problem (hence me being able to type this..) It shows all other available networks but just not the one I need.. Very strange.2. Reinstalling device driver for Broadcom802.11 Network Adapter3. Deleting saved internet wireless profile4. Entering the wireless profile manually

Today my router stops working. There is no internet on wifi even on lan. I thought my ISP is the problem but when I plugged in the wan cable to my laptop there's an internet. I tried to switch off the router and when I turned it on, there's an internet for about 15 seconds then after that there's no internet again. I also restore the router to its default setting but it doesn't solve the problem. This is the first time it happens to my router. I'm not using static ip address
A customer contacted us that he can't connect his devices via web since he changed the IP address. Ok, big laugh "type the correct IP" but no. Even if you use the correct IP, no user can't connect anymore to the device. Also via CLI!The only thing that worked was the password recovery procedure. After that everything worked fine. The customer and me tried it again with another 2960, maybe there went something wrong when he did it last time and it was an accident. Nice thought but no: another device same error, no login possible.
I have a Linksys WRT54GL version 1.1. The firmware is 4.30.11 (European version). In the Basic Wireless Settings I can't change the Wireless Channel. It remains at channel 1, and I simply can't alter it.This is strange, because in earlier firmware versions, I was able to change the channel without any problems at all. I would like to continue to use this firmware version. How can I solve this problem?

Now its around 268-320 in same server. But i have 160 ping in another Japanese server. But the server i have low ping goes to Singapore then to Japan. My question is can i change the route of my connection so my first server doesn't take the route of Italy?

when i was on the computer last night, i noticed someone else's address at the upper right hand corner nest to "sign in". The person's address was Jaydogwalker45@yahoo.com. I also noticed a green circle next to the address, so i clicked it and i had the option of signing him out, so i did.
My IP address continually changes on my AVR 412 DVR, why? I then have to go to my remote agent and change the address to match the one that changed, to make it usable.

I'm wondering is there a way that i could actually change the IP address of a computer based on its MAC Address that is connected to a network via switch only ? By running some bat file ? I only manage to change a target computer ip,dns, subnet via running the bat file on the physical computer but not through a network with switch.
My IP address was stolen. Someone sent me a file that I was expecting. It had a very misconcieving title. I opened it and it wouldn't work, but I let it slide. A week or two later I found pictures of myself on a forum from a hacker. The file I had opened had been a virus that hacked into my webcam. This creep told me that this had spread to 1000+ people and they all had my IP address. I am so scared! If everyone has my IP address anything could happen. How do I change my IP address without it messing up other settings in my computer and how do I remove this virus from my computer?
Have a computer running windows xp. Whenever I plug in my internet cable it says 'Acquiring Network Address'. I have left it for over and hour but it still says the same thing. I have connected other computers to the router with the same cable and they work perfectly. I have also tried channging the linkspeed for the network connection, renewing my ip address, repairing the network connection and disabling and enabling the connection.
