Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2800 Series To Set Static Routes Per Vlan

Aug 3, 2012

Is there a way to set static routes per VLAN?Example VLAN 100 sends all traffic to 192.168.1.1 and VLAN 200 sends all traffic to 10.1.1.1. (2800 Series RTR)I have 5 networks that have their own gateway to the Internet via satellite link. Those networks run over the same infrastructure on separate VLANs. They frequently send traffic to each other, which gets sent over a slow SAT link. I introduced a router to the network and would like to set all my hosts default gateway to the local routers sub-interface then have a static route that send all traffic that is not on one of my 5 networks back to that VLANs respective SAT modem to get routed out over the Internet.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E200 How To Configure Static Routes

Mar 30, 2012

how to configure it. So far googling and using the router's built-in help feature hasn't been of use. First off, here's my setup:NETWORK A with default gateway of 192.168.0.1 and a subnet of 255.255.255.0

NETWORK B  with default gateway of 10.10.100.1 and a subnet of 255.255.255.0

I want B to connect to A since that's where I have my domain setup with active directory.

Now from my understanding the Destination LAN IP should be the network I want to connect to, in this case 192.168.0.1. The subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway should be 10.10.100.1. However, when I do this, the LinksysE200 throws out an 'Invalid Static Route" error. What am I doing wrong? Also, here is the routing table as given by the E200:

Cisco WAN :: Configure Backup Links On 2800?

Oct 16, 2011

I currently admin a WAN link between two international sites.  I have a 2800 at each end. The primary connection between the two sites is 20MB Ethernet PIP MPLS BGP circuit.  I also have a pair of T1's in a PPP multilink that I switch over to in the event the primary circuit goes down.  I currently am doing the switch over manually.  It takes me about 15 minutes to complete it, but I know there must be a way to make this an automatic process.

So a couple questions:

1) Is there a way to create an "enhanced multilink" with the 2 T1's and the Ethernet circuit in the same bundle, in effect giving me 23MBps bandwidth while still being able to maintain connectivity if one of the 3 links goes down?  This is my preferred solution

and if 1 is not possible then

2) Is there a way to configure the router so if the Ethernet circuit goes down, all traffic will be automatically directed over the T1's, and then come back to the Ethernet when it's back online?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: WS-C3750G-24T-S / Configure Independent Routes For A Specific Network

Nov 1, 2012

I have a  WS-C3750G-24T-S layer 3 switch and I need to configure independent routes for a specific network, I'm trying to use VRF but it is not working for me. I tried using route-map but it seems the switch doesn't support that, so I'm stuck with VRF, but I think I'm not doing it right. The topology is as follows:

I have a network directly connected to a vlan and I need to forward all the traffic I get on this VLAN using a tunnel to a router. I think the problem is that in order to use the tunnel I need to utilize another VLAN which isn't part of that VRF. I attach the configuration I'm using to better understand what I'm trying to do:

layer-3 switch:

ip vrf TEST
rd 1:1
interface Tunnel1
ip vrf forwarding TEST
ip address 172.17.0.1 255.255.255.252
tunnel source 10.245.0.9
tunnel destination 10.250.4.31

[Code]....

And this is how my routing table looks on this router:

     172.17.0.0/30 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C  172.17.0.0 is directly connected, Tunnel4
C  10.250.4.0/24 is directly connected, Vlan404
S   10.245.0.8/29 [1/0] via 10.250.4.1
S*   0.0.0.0/0 [1/0] via 10.1.60.15

Properly Configure Home Network With Two Routers?

Mar 29, 2013

I have a bit of an unusual networking situation here in my home and need proper configuration, so I stop losing my web connection on a daily basis. The reason I'm forced to have the 2nd router is that my wife telecommutes and the 1st (primary router) is provided by her company. For whatever reasons, her company will not allow the wireless radio in their router to be turned ON - which forces me to add the 2nd wireless router for our 3 computers that require wireless access.

1 - Since the primary router has DHCP enabled, I am assuming that I should Disable DHCP on my wireless router. Am I correct?

2 - What other settings on the wireless router do I need to pay particular attention to in this situation?

Cisco WAN :: EIGRP 101 - Prefer External Routes Versus Internal Routes?

Apr 8, 2011

Is there a way in EIGRP to prefer external routes versus internal routes. EIGRP always picks up internal routes as long as they are available, no matter if external routes have better metric. Our Scenario is that we have DMVPN hub and spoke topology running EIGRP 101. The Core routers also on EIGRP 101 prefer EIGRP 101 routes. We have the new MPLS network running BGP and redistributing these BGP routes into EIGRP 101. The core routers prefer EIGRP 101 routes (internal) to redistributed BGP (external) routes.

Cisco WAN :: 2800 Setup Router To Resolve Both Internal / External DNS Requests

Jun 3, 2012

I have a 2800 with one Gigabit interface connection to our Lan and the other interface connected to the internet with a public IP address. Now I'd like to setup the router to resolve both internal and external DNS requests. Thus requests like www.google.co.za and LocalLanPcName should be resolved to their public and private IP's respectively. [code] When I ping any name the only DNS server that is ever queried is 192.168.1.200 (it does resolve internal name correctly though).

None of the other servers are attempted to resolve the name. It does not matter if I specify a FQDN or not.

How do I setup the router so that my internal resolution is handled by 192.168.1.200 and .201, while external resolution is handled by 41.160.36 and .37. Or alternatively, how do I configure it to at least try all 4 specified name-servers for resolution, and not fail after trying the first one unsuccessfully.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600N - System FW Not Include Enough Info To Properly Configure / Use This Device

May 4, 2010

I've purchased a wmp600n pci adapter january this year and installed it with no problems and did not encoutner a single problem with it until today. I use windows 7 64bit.

I've just came back from a 3 week absence and turned on my computer for the first time since i left. I notice that I have no wireless connection. So i go to network connections and realize that my wireless adapter dosent even show up..only my lan card. So i check my device manager, and under network adapters, i can see my wireless adapter, but with an exclamation mark next to it. I check the properties, and under the status box, it gives me this message.Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).

So i do what it says, and flash my bios to the latest version. After the update, I check the device manager, and the error message is still there. I check my wireless adapter driver version and it is v3.0.2, which is the latest version according to the linksys driver download webpage. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the adapter but no luck there. I also checked to see if maybe there was a problem with my pci slot and that was not the problem because I was able to use my older wireless adapter.

Cisco VPN :: Configure Setup With 2 Srp527 At Office And Home

Sep 2, 2012

I have recently managed to configure a setup where I have 2 srp527's one at office one at home.Have 1 fixed IP at the office and 1 fixed ip at home.I have configured the srp at work to be a vpn server and have configured the group and 2 user profiles. This allows me to have 2 concurrent sessions over the vpn to my office from desktop and laptop at the same time. Connections fire up perfectly no problems. From the desktop, I connect using vpn client with user profile 1 Once connected, I then connect to my workstation machine at the office using remote desktop. This gets me super fast access to office files and large spreadsheets without downloading the whole file over the vpn and is working perfectly.

If I then additionally connect from the laptop using the vpn client with user profile 2 the remote desktop connection drops.Disconnect the laptop connection, remote desktop comes back.Have isolated this to being 2 connections arriving at the srp at the office from the same external ip. If I connect my laptop to my phone as a hotspot rather than using my home LAN, both connections are made and remote desktop has no interruptions. Is there a way I can overcome this through re-configuration of the srp at the office or is this a limitation with the srp?

Cisco Routers :: 800 - Possible To Configure Multi-NAT Using Router Web Setup

Sep 11, 2011

I have a small business network with multiple systems on a local lan.  I would like to expose two of these machine on the Internet using static IPs provided by my ISP. Both of these machines provide web services over ports 80 and 443, and thus port forwarding will not meet my needs.  The way I have addressed this issue in the past is to use a router with "multi-NAT" or "many-to-many NAT" support. Alas, the router I was using is no longer working and the company no longer provides a similar offering. In speaking with CISCO customer service today, they suggested that one of the routers in the CISCO 800 series should meet my need.

So my questions are:

1. Is any out there using an 800 series router to address a similar scenario?
2. If so, is it possible to configure this scenario (e.g. Multi-nat) using the Cisco Router Web Setup (CRWS) Tool?  I'm not familiar with IOS and would prefer to skip the learning curve.

Cisco :: BGP Routes Not In Routing Table?

Feb 4, 2013

We have a BGP / OSPF configuration as shown in the topology picture. When the connection towards Internet is taken down, we expect the traffic to be forwarded toward WAN 2 (preferred) or WAN 1. The problem is that the BGP learned routes disappears when the Internet connection is taken down. The IP routing table on R2 only shows internal networks and the networks between R2 and WAN 1 and 2. No routes to internet is shown. We run "show ip bgp neighbors <ip-to-wan-1-router> received-routes" it contain internet routes. And when we run "show ip bgp neighbors <ip-to-wan-1-router> routes" it contains no routes at all.

Cisco VPN :: ASA 5510 Not Advertising Routes

Feb 15, 2011

I have an ASA 5510 that is configured for a remote access VPN

When users login, they are given an address from a locally defined pool (172.16.101.1-254 /24). Users can log in fine.

I have enabled EIGRP on the ASA and I have configured the following to be advertised:

1. 0.0.0.0 (default)
2. 172.16.100.0 /24 (dmz network)
3. 172.16.101.0 /24 (vpn pool)

I have also enabled reverse-route injection.

The problem I am having is that the VPN pool network is not being advertised via EIGRP, but the other networks are.

The other issue I am having is that even though I have created access-lists that allow the inside network (10.0.0.0) to ping the DMZ interface (172.16.101.1) on the ASA, the ASA is not allowing it. I have also created an ACL that allows the DMZ interface to ping inside, but this fails as well.

Cisco VPN :: ASA 8.4(3) Dynamic VPN And Static Routes?

May 20, 2012

I am running an ASA with 8.4(3) and am trying to setup a dynamic VPN tunnel.  We are having a business reason to establish a VPN tunnel to customers who do not have nailed down IP addresses.  Now I found a number of documents that outline the steps involved.  It seems the basic steps were to Establish a regular tunnelAdd dynamic crypto mapAssign the dynamic crypto map to the tunnel created under step 1. While this sounds pretty straight forward and simple, while prepping for doing just this I hot a road block while thinking it through. In order for my ASA to put anything into the tunnel it has to have a route to the remote network pointing at my VPN peer at the  end of the tunnel.  How do I do this in a dynamic tunnel?  How do I add a dynamic route so the ASA knows which tunnel to stuff the traffic into?  How do I stop the traffic from just being send to the Internet?

Cisco WAN :: Setting Up Routes On ASA 5505?

Dec 12, 2012

I'm trying to set up a Cisco ASA 5505. I'm mainly setting things up through ASDM but I also have console access. Right now while I'm setting it up I have the outside/Vlan2 port attached to my existing network and a laptop connected to the inside/Vlan1 port. More info about that:

interface Vlan1
nameif inside
security-level 100

[Code]....

Before I added that last "0.0.0.0" entry, the ASA would not see anything on the internet. Now I can ping any external IP address from the router's console. However, the laptop I have connected to the 'inside' port still cannot reach any IP address outside the 10.10.153.0 network. Every time I try to add a similar route for the 'inside' interface, I get the following error: "You have another route configured for this network any which has same gateway 10.10.152.1 and same metric 1. You cannot add a duplicate route." I know I'm misunderstanding something here. In order to make devices connected to the 'inside' port connect to the internet, I need to set up a new route that will direct these devices to 10.10.152.1, right?
