I'm trying to configure ACS 5.4 as radius server for network access (PPP connections).In monitoring and reports the users have green color , but the clients cannot send data. Auth method is CHAP/MD5.
Allowed protocols are set to CHAP and PAP only.
I am attempting to configure Radius authentication accross a site-to-site VPN for my ASA 5510-01 for remote access.
ASA5510-1 currently has a live site to site to ASA5510-2.
ASA 5510-1 - 10.192.0.253
ASA 5510-2 - 172.16.102.1
DC - 172.16.102.10
ASA5510-01 can ping the DC and vica versa but is unable to authticate when i perform a test. ASA5510-01 can authenticate to a DC on it;s own LAN but not on the remote LAN that DC sits on.
I have double checked the 'Server Secret Key' and ports as well as various users which all work locallly. ASA5510-02 authenticates to DC with no problems.
I need to configure the ACS 5.1 to meet the following requirement :-
1. ACS 5.1 will point to a RSA SecurID as the first authentication mechanism for the validation of user credential
2. In the event that RSA SecurID is not reachable, the ACS 5.1 shall point to its local user database.
I had no problem configuring for Point (1), but I am not able to let it failover to the local user database.
I'm trying to configure IP pool selection by RADIUS on ACS 5-3-0-40-7.So, I went to configuring the cisco-assign-ip-pool (Cisco VSA 218) attribute within some test authorization profile but discovered that cisco-assign-ip-pool is an integer (?!) and (therefore) accepts digits only.
As far as I can remember, we used to put pool *names* within ip:addr-pool
(something along those lines: cisco-avpair = "ip:addr-pool=test-pool-1").
So how should we configure the values for this attribute in ACS 5?

I have a Cisco 5508 WLC running 7.0.116.0 code hosting a WLAN configured for WPA2 with 802.1x for authentication. I have two Windows NPS servers configured as the RADIUS servers for EAP-TLS authentication. Via debug info on the WLC I can see the 802.1x handshake take place with the wireless client and the WLC as well as a successful transmission of an Authentication Packet from the WLC to one of the RADIUS servers. However on the WLC I see repeated RADIUS server x.x.x.x:1812 deactivated in global list and on the NPS server I'm seeing event log errors indicating "The Network Policy Server discarded the request for a user" along with the pertinent auth request info that I would expect the NPS server to receive from the WLC. Based on the WLC debug info I'm never actually getting to the EAP-TLS certificate authentication part. It seems the NPS servers don't like the format of the initial RADIUS authentication request coming from the WLC and so don't respond whcih in turn casues to WLC to switch to the other NPS server which produces the same issue.
Is there any way to set up our ISE to provide Radius instead of acting as Radius Proxy? In our Company we use ACS 4.2 to provide AAA via Tacacs+ and this works proper with all our Cisco-Switches. Now we are testing the ISE 1.1.1 as NAC-Solution.
I know how to set up the ISE as 'Radius Proxy', configuring the Sequences and Policies, but till now we are using only Tacacs+ for AAA. The current version of ISE does not support Tacacs+ and I don't want to set up a Radius-enviroment in ACS if not necessary. Somewhere ( I think the specs) I read, the ISE is a merge of ACS and NAC. So in my Opinion there should be a way to provide AAA via Radius on the ISE without ACS and without 'Radius Proxy'.
Wondering if it's possible to send a VSA from my radius server to my ASA-5505 that will instruct the ASA to use one of several split tunnel lists I have created, based on the user name supplied in the Radius request.For example, I can send a VSA of "ip:inacl#1=permit ..." and the ASA will dynamically create an access-list for that user.Is there a similar VSA for split tunnel?

RADIUS IETF Dictionnary is used for every device. all others Cisco Devices authenticate and are well authorized.

We have configured following commands on switch to fallback to local Vlan if both radius server (policy persona's) is found dead. For test purpose we shutdown both servers (policy persona's) but fallback didn't work. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco ASA 5510. I have configured Cisco Anyconnect to authenticate via Windows IAS. We had an outage of that server recently and I tried to remote in via anyconnect and could not. Once the IAS server came up I could get back into the network.
Is there a command that I'm missing that will let me use Anyconnect to connect into the network even if my AAA server is down?

my customer has FreeRadius, and I'm trying to get the server to assign a network admin role to a 5K running 5.0.3 code.This is based on the example given in this document: url...The server authenticates the user name, but will only put the user into the network operator role. This is confirmed by checking the output of show user-account and debug security user-db.The Radius test using the same credentials passes the authentication test. I'm sure the problem is that the N5K dosent understand the VSA format of the attribute, and that this is a simple syntax problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use 802.1x to authenticate clients on my network with dynamic VLAN assignment from RADIUS. We have IP-Phones(powered by PoE) that only supports EAP-MD5, and we would rather use MAB(it also uses LLDP-MED for some settings) to authenticate the phones using the MAC-range from the phones vendor. The following scenario works perfect:Connect the phone and let it boot up(takes a while) and authenticate with MAB.Connect a computer in the phones data-port and let it authenticate with 802.1x(or fail and reach guest-vlan) However, the following scenario doesn't work:The computer is already connected to the phoneThe phone is then connected to the switch What happends now is that the computer is authenticated using 802.1x before the phone boots up and get's authenticated with MAB. When the phone is ready, it's authenticated with MAB and everything works. However, after a short period(let's say a minute), using `debug authentication all`, we see a "NEW LL MAC: phones mac" message(which is weird since the mac has already been MAB-authenticated), and then we are unable to contact the phone using ping. When I check `show mac address-table` it has now moved the mac from `Port Gi 0/12` to `Port Drop`. However, if I check `show mab interface Gi 0/12` or `show authentication sessions` it lists the phones-mac as `mab auth sucess `.why the first scenario works, and not the second?

I had insatalled the ACS 5.2 on Vmware . As per my requirement i need to configure a user to restricted privilege so that he should be able to execute only the below commands on the switch .
-Show ver
-Show interfaces
-Show ip Interface Brief
-Configure terminal
-Interface <interface name >
-Shutdown
-No shutdown
The users should not be authorized to execute any other commands than above listed one .After the configuration i was not able to restrict the config mode commands . Once the user is authoized for Configure terminal access he will have full access on the device. How to configure the command set only to allow interface access and he should be able to apply Shutdown and No shutdown command .
I am new to ACS 5.1.I need to configure the ACS to act as the 802.1x authentication Server, as well as, act as the Radius Server for the authentication and authorization process when I access the switch.
I had created Two rules (under the Access policy) to cater for the two scenario, it will always "stuck" at the 1st rule. For e.g. Rule-1 is meant for the 802.1x, Rule 2 is meant for the AAA process. When I tested with 802.1x, it worked perfectly. But when I tested to login to the switch, it always failed. Based on the log, Rule1 is not able to fulfill my requirement (of course it can't). I thought the rules check process will proceed with Rule-2, but apparently it did not.
I have an auditor wanting a screenshot of all users that have acces to configure our firewall, I am unfamiliar with 5.1. Is there a way of running such a report on a paticular device?

Im not sure whats going on. I have two routers(cisco 2600 series) plus my 2509 cisco router I am going to use for a access server. I have a two switches 2950 series and I have the access server connected to all of them via a octal cable.
