I know there has already been a couple of threads on this but rather than add my question to the bottom of one of those I thought I would try afresh.
We have an 857W connected to the internet via ADSL. All works very well, however if I ping from an attached PC the first one always times out. If i ping from the router (ping { URL}source 192.168.18.1) I get !!!!! every time. Back to the PC and 'Request timed out' on the first.
The only way I have been able to resolve this is by using no ip cef. It then works as expected, first ping and all. The problem is after much reading, it is not ideal to disable cef.

I have an issue that websites take a few seconds before they start loading, despite about 20Mbps download speeds.I've traced the problem to my E3200: when I ping a website, the first ping times out and only subsequent pings return. If I immediately ping the website again then everything is fine. After a few minutes the problem would resurface (per the specific website). This does NOT happen when I connect directly to my cable modem. This does happen both from wired and wireless devices. Happens on both Mac and Windows.

I am running a Linksys WRT54G wireless router but have my primary computer hard wired to it while my laptop connects wirelessly. In both cases, when I ping my IP's speed test site, I get a solid ping rate of approximately 17-20ms but i also get about 5% failed: timeout's. Now I've seen posts here that suggest wireless interference could be an issue but since my desktop is hardwired into the router, that source would seem to have been eliminated. When I connect my desktop direct to the cable modem the problem doesn't occur.

I have an Cisco EA2700 router and a Motorola SB6121 modem. If I'm connected to the router wirelessly or through any of the lan ports, I can't visit the modem's diagnostics page at 192.168.100.1. If I connect directly to the modem, it works fine. Also I cannot ping the modem through the router, just get a timeout. My ISP is Comcast.

I have a 5505 for a small business that has one web server. The web server has a static NAT entry to an IP address and not an interface. There is an access rule allowing any HTTP traffic to the outside IP of the web server. From the web server I can't access the Internet.
All other computers on the network can access the Internet using a dynamic nat rule that uses the outside interface. The web server is accessible from a computer behind the firewall.
If I delete the static NAT entry for the web server I can get on the Internet.
I have turned debugging on and see that an outbound connection is built and then 30 seconds later the connection is torn down with the bytes 0 SYN Timeout message.
I am running 8.0(5).

I was checking out the config on my ASA and noticed a bunch of static routes configured when I did a show route. With the exception of two that I expect to be there, the remainder point traffic destined for specific internal hosts to the outside interface, i.e.
S private_ip 255.255.255.255 [1/0] via public_ip, outside
I verified that I cannot ping those hosts from the firewall. I logged in to the ASDM. When I check the Configuration>Device Setup>Routing>Static Routes it only shows two static routes, the ones I expect to see. If I look under Monitoring>Routing>Routes, I see the same output as I did on the CLI. I looked around to see if I was missing a key location for this information, and I was able to see the same static routes output in Monitoring>Routing>Routes. Since this is under monitoring though there's no way to delete these routes, and I still don't know where they were configured originally. Then I happened to check under Monitoring>VPN>VPN Statistics>Sessions, and I see several of the private IPs used in the static routes being used by VPN users, including my own! I know I didn't assign myself a static IP for VPN use or anything like that. So, what are these static IP routes? Why do I see them in the CLI and not under the Configuration tab? I mean, I know I can delete them from the CLI but I'm trying to figure out why the info is not synced. Am I seeing dynamically created content based on the VPN connections?

I am trying to set up a lan to lan vpn access with 2 asa5505's but I cannot ping, traceroute or connect from either side. I can connect to both ASA 5505's from the internet, and connect to the internet FROM both 5505's, just not one to the other. I can ping the network GATEWAYS to the routers, just not the routers themselves.
Both of these machines have been configured for previous VPNs but that configuration has been removed.

I've been called upon to fix the SSL VPN issues in our ASA5505. The issue I am having is that I am able to log into the vpn, access the internet, but I'm unable to access anything on the LAN. I can't use ping or use DNS.
I'm using ASDM v. 6.2(1) and ASA verison 8.2(1). I'm not comfortable using the CLI and prefer the GUI.

We want to use an ASA as a pure routing device. Our network has several internal subnets (10.1.x.0/24), and we want to be able to reach them from outside and to allow access between them.
We have a defined a VLAN for each subnet range with the same security-level, added it to an Ethernet port and made the Ethernet that acts as outside as a trunk, and defined it as the global routing.
We cannot ping any of the subnet IPs defined in the ASA from outside nor we can ping it from the internal IP addresses.
Configuration:

ASA Version 8.2(1)

I am trying to configure Nat on a clean ASA 5505, but can't get it to work. I ran the commands below. On the ASA I can ping the internet and inside vlan ip. On my laptop I can ping the ASA inside vlan ip, but I can't ping the outside vlan ip. From another network I can ping the ASA outside public ip. Is there an access-list that denies inside from accessing outside?
I am running version 8.4(3) and I erased the existing configuration.
ASA(config)# interface vlan 1
ASA(config-if)# ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0
ASA(config-if)# nameif inside

I have been tasked with replacing our company eSoft router with a Cisco ASA 5505 with the upgraded security license. I have been working on the configuration for a couple of weeks now, after reading hundreds of forum posts, watching youtube videos, and endless google searching, and despite my best efforts I am still having an issue I can’t figure out.
I have a couple of subnets, that when the ASA is connected, I cannot ping, nor can they get to the internet or our Exchange server. At this point I’m not sure if it’s an access rule issue, NAT issue, or DNS issue.
Here is the network layout:
ASA: 192.168.0.2 (Primary Gateway)
192.168.0.0 (Primary facility, ASA is the gateway)
192.168.2.0 (Second facility, connected via Verizon point-to-point)
192.168.3.0 (Third facility, connected via Verizon point-to-point)

I am trying to troubleshoot an ASA5505 connectivity issue. My initial tests are to ping the Internet router from the ASA This is failing and also a sh arp only shows internal addresses.
I have to go to site to check this out to confirm the following.
1: Should I be able to ping the Internet router from the ASA?
2: Do I need to permit any icmp to do this?
3: Should a sh arp show the address of the internet router?
I tried entering the command permit icmp any outside
However I got the error route already exists 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
