View 7 RepliesI am running a Linksys WRT54G wireless router but have my primary computer hard wired to it while my laptop connects wirelessly. In both cases, when I ping my IP's speed test site, I get a solid ping rate of approximately 17-20ms but i also get about 5% failed: timeout's. Now I've seen posts here that suggest wireless interference could be an issue but since my desktop is hardwired into the router, that source would seem to have been eliminated. When I connect my desktop direct to the cable modem the problem doesn't occur.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Cisco EA2700 router and a Motorola SB6121 modem. If I'm connected to the router wirelessly or through any of the lan ports, I can't visit the modem's diagnostics page at 192.168.100.1. If I connect directly to the modem, it works fine. Also I cannot ping the modem through the router, just get a timeout. My ISP is Comcast.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI know there has already been a couple of threads on this but rather than add my question to the bottom of one of those I thought I would try afresh.
We have an 857W connected to the internet via ADSL. All works very well, however if I ping from an attached PC the first one always times out. If i ping from the router (ping { URL}source 192.168.18.1) I get !!!!! every time. Back to the PC and 'Request timed out' on the first.
The only way I have been able to resolve this is by using no ip cef. It then works as expected, first ping and all. The problem is after much reading, it is not ideal to disable cef.
I have an issue that websites take a few seconds before they start loading, despite about 20Mbps download speeds.I've traced the problem to my E3200: when I ping a website, the first ping times out and only subsequent pings return. If I immediately ping the website again then everything is fine. After a few minutes the problem would resurface (per the specific website). This does NOT happen when I connect directly to my cable modem. This does happen both from wired and wireless devices. Happens on both Mac and Windows.

My customer has various Cisco switches but only cisco 2950 switches has the problem of ping timeout or reply time is too long(average more than 2 sec). It will cause I Network Mangement software alarm always.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor about a month or two now, I've not been able to connect to my router's admin page @ 192.168.1.1 I am using a D-Link DSL-2680 router.
Whenever I go to connect to 192.168.1.1 in my Web Browser, it just sits there trying to connect and does nothing. But eventually after some minutes I get the error: 'This web page is not available The web page at http://192.168.1.1/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.' Here is a screenshot:
I tried pressing the reset button on the back of my router, but it would just sit there with the green power LED and another green LED just flashing constantly (I assume this is the ethernet 1 cable LED) and this happens for more than 10 minutes.
All I want to do is just port forward my game servers again without the use of Hamachi or other programs

I have a D-Link DIR-825.B1, which I've recently updated to the 2.04EU firmware. The update fixed some IPv6 problems I've had, but introduced an IPv4 problem instead: TCP NATs have a rediculesly low timeout of 60 seconds, which makes the router useless for most protocols. How do I set the NAT timeout for TCP connections?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSearch for 'DIR-825 timeout' only returned a half page and none were relevant.
DIR-825 2.03NA - The web interface has a ridiculously low timeout value. 60 seconds maybe?
I can't build a list of MAC addresses, e.g., before it reaches the timeout. I try to save.... and I have to log back in. And my changes are gone.
What's maddening is that it WAS working the way I wanted, with seemingly no timeout, until recently when I had to basically re-do my network.
I have just updated myDIR-655 A4 to firmware 1.35NA by the procedure: save config > upload firmware > load config. However after upgrading, my admin page now logout after every ~10 sec of inactivity.I have tried the method where to view the admin page without a style, to be able to set the timeout period, from 5 mins to 3, 8 and 10 mins, but no matter what I set, it still logs me out after ~10 sec.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am able to access 930L (2 cams) from wifi be it laptop, iphone or ipad but I am not able to see it through 3g.I have Huawei fibre optics broadband reuter from Starhub.Starhub is running away if ask them to fix it. Huawei never takes the call.I tried atleast 3 times 10 minutes each at 8006011450.It goes to disconnect. The lot talked about UPNP is enable in reuter but it does not work.
Now i talked to Dlink support with ticket DCX36811.They advised to load the firmware.I did it still the connection timeout is there. we have baby to monitor through iphone/android 3g.
I'm using the D-link dir-300 wi-fi router. Cable internet connection. PC is connected to the router by the cable and the laptop via wi-fi. Both machines have the same problem - after some time, although there are no package loss when I'm pinging anything, some services report "connection timeout". Such as PvP.net, EA Online and Turbofilm.tv. Soft reset, hard reset didn't solve anything. Although when PC is connected straight to the main internet cable - there are no problems at all. [code]
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-825 with 2.60VT firmware (rented from Videotron).
Even though the manual says the stateful firewall should have a timeout on connections of 240 seconds or 7800 seconds, all of my connections start at a mere 120 seconds. I'm having trouble with IMAP IDLE pushing e-mails because the connections timeout so quickly (before any stay alive can be sent). A connection to the e-mail server gets opened on 143 (Videotron) or 993 (encrypted - google, e.g.), and I see the connection on the Internet Sessions page, the timeout starts at 120. When it hits 0, the connection is no longer displayed (it is not renewed), and the IMAP IDLE ****s out because the server can't find the client (i.e. the connection has been closed). But it's not just on those ports or servers. ALL of my TCP sessions begin at a mere 120 seconds! Even for a home router, isn't this way too low?
confirm that their DIR-825, on the Internet Sessions page, shows initial timeout values of greater than 120 for a TCP connection? I would love to see a picture of that screen showing higher values. Does it start at 240? Do you ever see a connection start at a timeout of 7800?
I see no way of changing the timeout value. Is it possible to force connections on certain ports to begin at a higher timeout value?
got this problem within the last few days
UPnP renew entry 255.255.255.255 <-> 68.98.71.182:61041 <-> 192.168.0.197:61041 UDP timeout:-1 'Teredo' (this one repeated 13 times just in that 1 info slot)
Blocked outgoing ICMP packet (ICMP type 3) from 192.168.0.197 to 109.185.100.195
Blocked incoming TCP packet from 108.170.42.83:80 to 68.98.71.182:36792 as SYN:ACK received but there is no active connection
this goes on for a multiple of different ip's and i believe its due to the fact that the game i play is p2p
QoS is off spi is off udp and tcp endpoint independent firmware version 1.21 i am using wireless cable isp using motorola sb5101 i believe i port forwarded the ports used for the game but that didnt work so i put my computer into dmz. I've also noticed a lot more jitter then i used to have and my upload speed is down about 4mbps. Was thinking it might just be outdated firmware?
So I just bought a D-link DIR-655. It's a B1 hardware with the 2.00NA firmware. After a few hours the DNS server in the DIR-655 stops responding. This happens on all of the PCs connected to it (both wired and wireless) who have their DNS server set to 192.168.1.1. The only way I've found to recover is to reboot the router, change something in router's the configuration causing the router to re-initialize, or to ping an external site from the ping test console. When this happens the external ISP DNS server are still working (confirmed by NS lookup testing manually setting them).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been running into an issue for the past week or so where my wireless adapter intermittently can't contact my router. When it occurs the network connection reads as having limited connectivity. I'm unable to send requests to load webpages, and videos and the like stop loading. Sometimes the network disconnects entirely. After this occurs, I can't connect again for a few minutes. My connection consistently reads as having 2-3 bars available. The issue tends to occur frequently, often every 15 minutes or so. Strangely enough, I have been able to play bf3 online for over 40 minutes without connection problems (I quit before any occurred - not sure if any would have). So far I've tried the windows troubleshooter, updating the driver to my wireless networking adapter, manually assigning my network address (tried 192.168.1.4, 192.168.1.5, etc), setting my 802.11b preamble to "Long only" and performing a system restore. I have rebooted my machine as well.
My technical specs are as follows:I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate N 64 bit edition with service pack 1. System has 8gb Ram, an i5-3570k processor and HD7850 graphics card. Motherboard is the Asrock Z77 extreme 4. My wireless network adapter is the TP-link TL-WN722N. The adapter was working fine for some time before this issue appeared. My router is an old U.S. Robotics Wireless MaxG Router. It seems to work fine with other computers in the household, although it does require fairly frequent power-cycling. Running ipconfig on the command prompt while the internet is working returns:

View 10 Replies View RelatedUsing DIR-601 hardware version B1, Firmware 2.00NA, I am debugging problems I've had with this router, so it is set up on my network so I can access it from both the WAN and LAN side. If I ping the router from the WAN side, I get a very fast response. But when I disable ping from the administrative tools from the LAN side and reboot the router, I still get responses to my ping! I know the router is responding because if I disconnect the WAN cable from the router (connected to "INTERNET", the pings stop. So the router is ignoring user settings at Advanced->Advanced Network->WAN PING! Looks like a firmware bug.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased and installed a new EA4500 wireless router. At the same time i had a new Voip phone system installed as well which i'm having issues with. The main issue is that my phones communicate with the service every 240 seconds....the issue is that my NAT timeout is below that 240 threshold. Thus my phones go in and out constantly. increasing the NAT Timeout.
View 5 Replies View Relatedtelnet/ssh sessions time out after 30 minutes of in-activity This only happens in the case of a server that is setup behind the firewall, and of course port forwarding is used. If one unchecks the radio button for the enable firewall the sessions do not timeout at all. This is very reproducable in all recent (1.3.9) versions of RV042 and RV082 routers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was able to connect to my 5ghz and 2.4ghz networks just fine. Now today I get a message that the connection timed out whenever I try and connect to the 5ghz. I have done a 30/30/30 reset, and still no joy. The one thing I haven't done yet is a 30/30/30 with a configuration from scratch. I will probably try that later. I've done the usual things like change the channel and all that, still no go. Other things I've done, change the network name, change the MTU, restart my machine. However, this is happening on other devices as well. The 2.4ghz network, solid as a rock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do port forwarding on my DIR-615...first of all I need to be able to ping the router from outside! I did enable the ping options to allow request from WAN...still don't work!!I removed the router and plug my laptop directly on my cable modem adapter and I'm able to ping my IP address (did put the same address the router had)...so, the IP is OK and it is possible to get in the modem from outside.I did plug back the router, and still not working...I did some trick like enable all IP with the Inbound filter...give access to few MAC address that I have to give more chances to get in and still not working!!!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new DLink 615 E4 router. After a botched firmware update, I attempted to enter the emergency room.I got in once, and tried to upload the firmware using Internet Explorer 8, but it was stuck there for over two hours without any progress (stuck at the browse/upload page), so I disconnected it.
I haven't been able to enter the Emergency room since then. I get to the point where the power light blinks orange, and connecting my laptop to the router using the wired connection lights up the proper LAN light, but I cannot ping or access 192.168.0.1 anymore.
I would like to passthrough ICMP 8 (ping) requests through the DIR-655 to my server. I found where to allow the router to respond to ICMP 8 requests, however, I do not want the router to responder, rather the server itself. Is there a way to pass these requests through to the server?
