Who is trying the ping www.dlink.com ? I have been used the model DIR-825 during 1 year, but I could not see that ping command in the log. I had experienced that my notebook alert that DIR-825's shareport has reconnected. Why the DIR-825 lost the private connection while I sleeping?Comment: DIR-825(IP: 10.10.100.97/28) is private using only. The internet gateway is setting to DIR-655(:192.168.90.97/29). [code]
I connected to AP 1552E and my computer via PoE Gigabit Ethernet Port. Port is up and two of them are the same subnets.Even if my computer and ap arp table seen each other but i couldnot ping the each of them. [code]
Last week we had some forwarding issues with our cat 6509e VSS pair, wherby clients could ping the gateway but couldnt route through it! we identified this as being core 2 in the vss pair, yesterday we rebooted the 2nd switch and now the issue has been resolved.
I've recently noticed an issue with the D600. A few days ago, I could not get any IP address from the router (wireless connection) on one of my laptops. I checked the router and it did something never done before: It restarted automatically (orange lights). Everything seemed to work fine but now when one of my device connects to the network (ps3, iPhone, laptops...) no IP address is given by the router so everything is on limited connectivity which is really annoying. I have to turn it off/on to make it work. It happens most of the time.
Note that I already returned the router a couple a year ago or so (I cant recall what was the issue), so I have to say that the quality of this device is far behind my expectations.
I have about 50m between switches. When using Cat6 I could not get a connecting between switches but when I use Cat 5E I get a connection. The switches are D-Link DGS-1210-10P switches. Why do the Cat6 which is suppose to be superior to Cat 5 not getting a connection.
I just bought DIR-655 yesterday and tried to set it up through the CD but without success. My problem at first was I couldn't get internet connect via router (but PC to DSL modem direct connection is always all right). Then I played around to turn on "Advanced DNS service" then I got internet connection via router to my PC. However sometimes the web site names couldn't be translated by DNS correctly and it resulted in "Not Found" and I am pretty sure those web sites are active and running (as I have no problem to access those if I connect DSL modem to my PC directly). Also I noticed wireless connection was very slow and some You Tube videos would stop playing after around 30 seconds and DSL modem had no further activity at all. Why couldn't I use 192.168.0.1 (default IP) as primary DNS (as I got no internet at all if I did so)? Is it really necessary to turn on "Advanced DNS service"? How can I get internet access if I turn "Advanced DNS service" off?
I have an Kasda router connected to my PC. I want to connect Wireless D-Link router to a Kasda router so I can have wireless internet on laptop and on my PC as it is now directly. But I can't seem to manage to get it work. I can catch the signal but it says "No Internet Access". Also I can't enter my wireless router when connected that way, only the normal one. I'm suspecting that I need to configure both routers somehow to get it working. I've tried some other things but no luck.
The first thing I done was this:
PC<->Router<->Wireless Router (Connected them on LAN ports)
Also I've tried:
Router<->Wireless Router(Connected LAN from router to an internet port on Wirless)<->PC(connected lan from wireless to PC). - This way I was able to acces both router from PC, but still couldn't connect to wireless on my laptop.
set up my router. Trying to set up my 3G modem with TP-Link MR3020.
Tried troubleshooting to find out where it went wrong and just couldn't figure out. Just tried disabling the wireless security and *poof* I'm able to connect to the Internet. Right after setting up the Network Key, I can't connect to the Intertnet via my router.

if you have two no of win 7 computer , and you run ping command at the same time at both PCs but the successfull at only one PC , second computer shows unsuccess full ping
I can connect to the internet after 5mins or so after booting up but after that internet will not respond at all.i need to restart again my PC in order to connect again to the internet i somehow manage to bump with this solution using ping command.whenever i boot my pc i need to open this command and i can surf the internet without getting my connection lost just as long ping command is open.
I recently acquired an E4200 Linksys router.Is it possible to connect to it using telnet (from LAN)? For example I would like to start a ping command directly from the router.I tried to telnet using command line shell from Windows and it failed to connect on port 23.

I have recently purchased the portable TP link 3020 which is a great solution for me in order to get wifi for multiple users till I get through the long process of getting ADSL in Turkey.The thing is that the 3G bundle Turkcell provided me with is not identified by the modem, so I looked it up on the internet and I found out that I needed to add the bin of the bundle, I searched within the list published on TPLINK website but without any luck.... finally I found the bin I was looking for in another country list... mine is Huawei E353 and the one I found is Huawei E353s2. Anyway I added the bin and still not luck identifying the bundle, I finally resorted to upgrade the firmware which I hate because I always worry of the bad consequence of failure, and unfortunately I was right! Once I upgraded the firmware, I couldn't get connected to the router, it keeps asking me for the key, but without any success! I tried hardware reset by holding the WPS button for 5 seconds as suggested in the manual, but any further success!
I was wondering about command of Linkset subcommand at ITP7613.I have been using the Cisco7613 chassis for the ITP(SIGTRAN) service.
However, i know that the "tx-queue-depth" command is used for sctp multihoming buffersize that between primary and secondary path at the Link sub-command mode. but i can't adjust the changeover buffersize(retrieval buffer) that between link and another link at the Linkset subcommand mode. It's above my comprehension.
My guess is that related to "plan-capacity-rcvd" command. it's right?I want to know command that adjust the buffersize of Link changeover.
we're having an issue with the command "cts dot1x" when applied to an uplink interface. It basically kils the connection with this command is applied. Once you remove it, everything is back to normal, the platform is a cisco 3750x.
I couldn't recover my password so I just created a new account.I just recently bought the ASUS RT-N16 since I switched to a different ISP that provided only a modem.
The problem: Some computers in the house will connect no problem to the network and without trouble. Other computers will be able to connect to the network but it will be restricted. When you go to the internet browser it shows an Asus logo and says: "the cable for ethernet is not plugged in". All the computers are wireless and in fact I am writing this while connected to the RT-N16 (wirelessly). Also, sometimes a computer will boot, I will go into the browser, it will show me that message, I unplug the RT-N16, plug it back in and the internet works again. This happens everyday.
P.S. I would also like to note that I tried connecting to the internet network with a nexus and it showed me the same error while I tried connecting with a samsung galaxy S2 and everything worked just fine. Also we got like 5 computers at home and I'd say 1 computer always connects fine, some don't connect regardless of whether you restart the router or not and some computers work only when you restart the router so I have very mixed feelings about this one...
So I am having some major issues with my download speeds. I have been told that I am supposed to get 10-20mb down and 1mb up, which is fine normally. Yet I haven't been getting anywhere near that lately. I have been getting 30-50kbs for a speed lately on my linux server, and I am not sure how slow on my windows box.I have road runner internet, and I have a Linksys BEFSR41 router, and a ubee modem. I have done a little looking at the event log of the ubee modem and found that I am getting "Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - ..." every 3 -5 minutes. I don't know what that means but it says critical next too it. Something else I have found is that it has been raining for the last 3 day straight, don't know if that make a difference
i was setting up my friends new router (Lynksys WRT54GL) and i figured out the ip address and it was DCHP(i think) enabled so i just enabled that on the router settings and then i tried to finish the setup with the disc that came in the box and it kept saying it couldnt connect to the internet.-SO-we disconnected the router and connected to the internet and suddenly, no connection to internet. it was working earlier today but for some reason now it no longer has connection. waited around for 3 hours and still no connection, through router or direct link.
My main computer is a desktop PC, which is in my upstairs study. It is connnected wirelessly to the internet, and the Virgin router is downstairs in the living room. This has worked perfectly for 2 years. The computer uses Windows 7 ultimate. (COMPUTER 1), I recently purchased a laptop (COMPUTER 2) and installed Windows 7 ultimate. This uses the same wireless connection and at first I had no problem setting up a homegroup so that I could watch videos stored on Computer 1 on the laptop. The first problem is that the homegroup stopped working some time ago and when both computers are switched on, I get the message on both computers: "no other homegroup computers are currently available."
I figured I could leave the homegroup and start again but if I try to leave on either computer I get the error message: "Windows couldn't remove your computer from the homegroup." In services, both the Homegroup settings (listener and provider) are started, as are the peer networking options. I have tried disabling them and re-starting to no avail. Now, this hasn't been a major problem because I have still been able to access files on Computer 1 via Computer 2 by clicking on network>Computer1>user. But here is where it gets complicated. I have now purchased another desktop PC (COMPUTER 3) which I intend to place in the living room and connect to my TV, so that I'm not constantly connecting wires from my laptop (computer 2) if I want to watch something on the big screen. Again, Windows 7 ultimate installed.
I'm trying to do port forwarding on my DIR-615...first of all I need to be able to ping the router from outside! I did enable the ping options to allow request from WAN...still don't work!!I removed the router and plug my laptop directly on my cable modem adapter and I'm able to ping my IP address (did put the same address the router had)...so, the IP is OK and it is possible to get in the modem from outside.I did plug back the router, and still not working...I did some trick like enable all IP with the Inbound filter...give access to few MAC address that I have to give more chances to get in and still not working!!!
I recently bought a new DLink 615 E4 router.After a botched firmware update, I attempted to enter the emergency room.I got in once, and tried to upload the firmware using Internet Explorer 8, but it was stuck there for over two hours without any progress (stuck at the browse/upload page), so I disconnected it.
I haven't been able to enter the Emergency room since then. I get to the point where the power light blinks orange, and connecting my laptop to the router using the wired connection lights up the proper LAN light, but I cannot ping or access 192.168.0.1 anymore.
i use time warner cable for many year and now it have a problem with " couldn't find a network " i try many way but still no work . 1 i do pull the plug off and plug in ( usually it works ) 2 i brought a new router ( still " not able to find network " ) 3 i plug direct computer to the modem and it work but dns doesn't work
Couldn't connect to mobile hotspot but could connect to other networks, none of which were from a phone. When attempting to connect to hotspot, my phone displays the information of my computer as name unknown, IP address 0.0.0.0, but gives a MAC address. (My computer has a name, I can't find my IP address, idk what a MAC address is)I tried using remote desktop connection, but the computer I was trying to connect to couldn't find mine.
To be honest, I'm not sure I did it correctly, though.Displayed as 0.0.0.0 on phone when attempting to connect to mobile hotspot.I typed ipconfig in command prompt but got nothing about an IP address. There were several lines that began with "Tunnel adapter" all followed by "Media State : Media Disconnected" then "Connection-specific DNS Suffix: I currently have no internet connection (I'm on my phone), so I can't find it that way either.
Under Network Location it specifies that it cannot connect to MEMORYCARD (\EPSON00) (Z:) and upon clicking on it I receive an error message: "Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored."I've spilled water on my keyboard before, but this took place after these problems arose. I dried the computer and had it sit with rice for 2 days. My modem with single network connectivity (Type I) works fine. I tried to replace with Type II modem (with wifi- and 4 or more ports) for connectivity. I could not establish connection with the server of the service provider. I tried to replace with a different type of typeII modem. Still the same. What could be the reason?I connected the same in a different workplace to a different PC.
I changed the router ip to 192.168.0.2 from 192.168.0.1. I don't know what type of connection, i have to use. It have the following options: Static IP, DHCP etc. The internet connectivity status shows 'disconnected'.I'm currently using the lan to connect to net. This customer has 5 5508 WLC controllers, version 7.0.230.0 with several cisco 1142 and 3502e AP's. All in one mobility domain. Randomly some AP's don't accept clients to connect. Requesting for an IP-address by DHCP on the client (XP).
I just made ssh connection to the AP's, did some debugging. No information. Checked the logging, nothing I wanted to see. Even debug ip packet, give me the insufficient information I want to have.
When we reboot the AP, everything will work fine, but some several weeks later, this AP will have the same problem again. The capwap tunnel still exists, I could ping, telnet/ssh the AP. Even when a user tries to connect, I don't see any authentication debug messages.
This AP exists in a clean room environment, but is sometimes happens with an AP in a open office space.
Logging a tac case is not an option, due to the lack of debug output I receive.
I have a question about ACLs on Cisco 3800 router. I tried to configure extended IP access-list. However, I couldn't add more rules into some of the ACLs when the number of rules increase to about 120 rules. These extended IP access-lists are assigned to gigabit ethernet interface and sub-interface (VLAN interface).
Is this caused by some kind of maximum number of rules supported?
I would like to passthrough ICMP 8 (ping) requests through the DIR-655 to my server. I found where to allow the router to respond to ICMP 8 requests, however, I do not want the router to responder, rather the server itself. Is there a way to pass these requests through to the server?
