Cisco WAN :: 7613 How To Adjust Change Over Buffer Size At Link-set Sub-command

Apr 13, 2011

I was wondering about command of Linkset subcommand at ITP7613.I have been using the Cisco7613 chassis for the ITP(SIGTRAN) service.

However, i know that the "tx-queue-depth" command is used for sctp multihoming buffersize that between primary and secondary path at the Link sub-command mode. but i can't adjust the changeover buffersize(retrieval buffer) that between link and another link at the Linkset subcommand mode.
It's above my comprehension.

My guess is that related to "plan-capacity-rcvd" command. it's right?I want to know command that adjust the buffersize of Link changeover.

Cisco :: Prime LMS 4.2.3 / Exceeds Data Buffer Size Discarding This Snmp Request

Mar 11, 2013

Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.3 is sending SNMP request too big for asa interface buffer.LMS is running on Windows server incoming SNMP request (528 bytes) from IP address x.x.x.x  Port  50592  Interface "inside" exceeds data buffer size, discarding this SNMP  request.

212005: incoming SNMP request (%d bytes) from %s exceeds data buffer size, discarding this SNMP request. It is very much like this error

Error Message    %PIX-3-212005: incoming SNMP request (number bytes) on interface interface_name exceeds data buffer size, discarding this SNMP request.

#Explanation    This is an SNMP message. This message reports that the length of the incoming SNMP  request, destined for the firewall, exceeds the size of the internal data buffer (512 bytes) used for  storing the request during internal processing; therefore, the firewall is unable to process this request.  This does not affect the SNMP traffic passing through the firewall via any interface.

#Recommended Action    Have the SNMP management station resend the request with a shorter length,  for example, instead of querying multiple MIB variables in one request, try querying only one MIB  variable in a request. This may involve modifying the configuration of the SNMP manager software.

how do I change the SNMP request size in LMS? I can only find the following that might be an option

[URL]

just using default settings with snmpv3

D-Link DCS-942L :: Change File Size To Other Than 1 Minute Chunks?

Aug 9, 2012

First is it possible to change the length that new files will be created? Right now it creates 1 minute chunks which becomes a pain in the butt to manage. I would really like to set the length to 10min or even 60min chunks as one minute is just to short. I use the camera for constant recording and do not plan on puttin in a computer to record to due to logistics.

Secondly, is there software that will manage these files? That is pull down from the cameras SD and archive then allow you to simply play from any location via mouse or time picker?

I have used professional security systems in the past and know that this is just an entry home consumer camera but was hoping it had a little more functionality, as it stands the built in SD recording is almost useless without some sort of management software.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1456 Does MSS Get Increased With Ip Tcp Adjust-mss Command

May 6, 2012

I just needed more insite into the function of the ip tcp adjust-mss command which can be used to adjust the MSS value in the tcp syn packet which passes that interface. But here is a question which I had. Consider that i have two sets of systems in my LAN one with an MTU value of 1300 ( MSS 1260 ) and with a MTU of 1500 ( MSS -1460 ). If I go ahead and put an ip tcp adjust-mss 1456 (for reducing the packet size from 1500 to 1496)  on the WAN . Does the command only lower the MSS for the set of systems which have 1460 or will it also increase the MSS in the tcp syn packets send by systems with MSS of 1260 ( which can potentially break some communication ).

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5550 - How To Change The Context Size

Nov 6, 2011

I'm having a problem with a context, I have two CISCO ASA 5550 (failover) and also we have the CISCO CSM to monitoring it, but since some weeks is showing a memory usage of 100% but then it drops until reach zero and then again the graphic goes up. This is the second time that the graphic shows this

I also check this on the CLI and i'ts fine because is showing the real percent, so my question here is why is showing this kind of behavior, I mean it was working fine before.

In the other hand I checked the secondary device and this is showing a 99% of used memory, but as the other one this graphic doesn't drop

I also checked via CLI and it says that it had the 99% memory used , Is there a way that i can put more memory on the context or what do you suggest that I can check on my firewalls.

Cisco Routers :: 2800 - Change Default Command Mode To Privileged EXEC?

Feb 14, 2013

I am currently setting up a 2800 Series router, and prefer a username/password type authentication rather than a single enable password. To do this, I did:

Router(config)# username <myuser> privilege 15 secret 0 <mypassword>
Router(config)# username2 <myuser> privilege 15 secret 0 <mypassword>
Router(config)# aaa new-model
Router(config)# aaa authentication login default local

This basically does what I want - when I connect to the router through console, it immediately asks me for a username and password. The thing is - as soon as I provide the right credentials, it takes me to USER EXEC mode (the default command mode). Is it possible to change that so that after entering the credentials, I go right into privileged exec mode?

Bonus question: As it is now, I just have no enable password, so when I login with my credentials, I issue "enable" to enter privileged exec mode without it prompting for an additional password. Is it safe to do it this way - having no enable password but requiring a username and password for login?

Cisco WAN :: Policing On 7613 SVI?

Aug 4, 2011

We have built some policers to apply to vlan SVIs on our 7613 so that we can rate limit input and output traffic.  We followed the Cisco formula and got this.

policy-map vlan-shape-3meg
  class class-default
   police cir 3000000 bc 562500 be 1125000    conform-action transmit     exceed-action drop     violate-action drop

There have been some complaints about this not actually meeting the limit.  When I do a show policy-map interface xxx I get this.  Based on that it looks like the Be value is being change to match the Bc value.

On a separate note, I noticed that every policer we built with the cisco formula actually ends up with a Tc greater than the max Tc of .125 seconds. It seems odd that a recommended formula would end up creating values outside the maximum allowed limits by the software.

I'm not a QoS expert so if any of this seems like basic stuff it's just because I'm a little slow on QoS.

Vlan2
   Service-policy input: temp-remove
   class-map: class-default (match-any)
Match: any
police :

[code]....

One other thing...in order to apply policers input and output on an SVI does mls qos vlan-based have to be configured on the trunks tagged with the corresponding Vlan?

Cisco :: 7613 Having Frequent High CPU Utilization?

Apr 25, 2012

I have Cisco 7613 on my edge(MPLS Backbone). CPU utilization is shooting to 100% at frequent intervals. When I tell vendors managing device they tell that it is happening due to one of my server(connected on Fast ethernet port of 100Mbps) generating heavy traffic. My questions are:

1. Can a router of 720Gbps capability be choked due to traffic generated by 100Mbps link?

2. Interrupt CPU process utilization is well below 10% at the said time. BGP router process consumes most of the CPU. Does this means that server in question is generating too many routing updates?

3. Is there any way that I can limit routing updates on a particular link?

4. how to check which link is causing more CPU utilization.

Cisco WAN :: 1400 - Configuring Adjust-MSS / IP MTU In Same Tunnel

Apr 28, 2012

I am using a GRE-IPSEC tunnel configuration + EIGRP routing protocol and I would like to confirm if I am right with the following:

Due to I am configuring the IP MTU = 1400 in the Tunnel interface, I am avoiding additional fragmentation after GRE encapsulation because there is enough room for IPSEC encapsulation (no matter which mode I am using - I am considering the worst case Tunnel Mode). However, I would like to know what happens if I ALSO include in the Tunnel configuration the command ip tcp adjust-mss 1360 which is clear operates in layer 4 during the 3 way handshaking process to establish the TCP connection/session between opposite hosts (in this case the interaction is with the respective end routers). By adding this MSS command, I understand that I could also eliminate the initial fragmentation of the 1500 bytes LAN packets (before GRE encap) because the hosts are notified to send 1360 bytes packets to the Router and based on the previous, I would be able to transfer packets without "theorical" fragmentation between both ends.

One more question, how can affect if I include this additional command (TCP ADJUST-MSS) the performance (process + memory) of a router 3845 or 7200 without producing for example a entire crash of the device???. I understand that this TCP MSS negotiation is router process intensive but is less than IPSEC encryption/decryption.

Cisco WAN :: 7613 - Redundancy With WS-SUP720-3BXL Module

Mar 20, 2012

We have Router CISCO7613,SSO redundancy configured with two Sup 720-3BXL running 12.2(33)SRC1 image. Even thought I've configured SSO, my standby sup remains in COLD state with the following logs generated.

Mar 20 22:07:32.514 IST: %ISSU-SP-3-PEER_IMAGE_INCOMPATIBLE: Peer image (c7600s72033_sp-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), version (12.2(33)SRC1) on peer uid (8) is incompatible
Mar 20 22:07:32.514 IST: %ISSU-SP-3-PEER_IMAGE_INCOMPATIBLE: Peer image (c7600s72033_sp-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), version (12.2(33)SRC1) on peer uid (8) is incompatible
Mar 20 22:08:48.263 IST: %PFREDUN-SP-4-INCOMPATIBLE: Defaulting to RPR mode (Runtime incompatible)
[code]...

These logs says that due to some reasons, the configuration is not being synchronized with active and standby sups and hence the redundancy mode remains in RPR mode and SSO not achieved, and hence COLD state. However, I couldn't find a reason why the configuration is not being synchronized, I've issued the command, redundancy config-sync ignore mismatched-commands, and everything worked fine, SSO achieved and standby sup came to HOT state. Now my query is,

1. Why the configuration was not synchronized and standby SUP got in COLD state??
2. Since I issued the suggested command, at least, some of the mismatched lines in configuration will be ignored, Will that create a problem when my Active sup fails and standby become active?

As you can see from the figure that traffic of all 3 core router i.e 7613 go to 6513 - to proxy ISA 2004 - 6513 - to Internet.

There are also some network attached with 6513 and we want to move both of modules to 6513 so that NetworkA/B/C/D/E which are attached to 6513 can also be configured for FWSM and IDSM -2.
