Does Cisco MSE 3350 comes with two NICs. I want to configure them as a team bound to one IP address and send each to a separate 6509 switchport all in the name of redundancy and failover.
View 2 RepliesOk so even though this isn't really needed, it's for a 10 user office I have two tower servers with dual nics but not the same brand (just bought a cheapy gigabit startech) to go with intel on board nic. Also my switch is also gigabit which is a trendnet teg-s24dg which does not support link aggregration.
But since I have two nics and both servers are running win2008 enterprise I want to use the other nics for throughput if possible. So to give an idea servers are doing DC/AD and fileserver DFS rep. If I turn one off the other picks up and network still functions (there is a small lag since dns has to pick up that other is not responding. So far the best I can think I can do with the extra nic is add ip's to second nics and add to dns and round robin or install NLB role to for two server cluster.
I can't really team them since they are two different brands, so what would you do or do you suggest I can do with them. Also I have a T1 and dsl going into a dual wan firewall dsl is not being used for anything. (might use it for a seperate wifi network if people need it.
I'm trying to setup a server with two nics, one of which is connected to the network, and the other connected to a NAS via crossover. I've never done anything with subnetting, but I was thinking I could just set the main nic to 192.168.10.20 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and the other to 192.168.10.250 with a subnet of 255.255.255.240 and the nas nic set to 192.168.10.251
Am I thinking through this right, or is there a better way to do this?
Our current topology is a single N7K with two 48port 10Gb F2 linecards and FEX 2224TP in the server racks. In a few of the racks that house important servers, we have placed dual FEX 2224's. Each FEX has 2 10Gb links back to the N7k (each link on a separate LC). I've tried to create a port-channel for the important servers in such a way that each NIC on the server is connected to a separate FEX - but its failing (simple drawing attached). I've read multiple posts saying this is possible, and others that say its not. I've also submitted a TAC case and have been told it's impossible to port-channel interfaces on separate FEXs connected to a single N7k - but I find this an impossible limitation and want to verify it's actually right. Is this really a limitation?

2. Can we configure my ASA 5520 with Active/Standby termenating two IPS providers one on Active ASA 5520 and Other ISP on Standby ASA 5520, so that when Active ISP fail ASA Secondary can become Active and send the Traffic throough Secandary ISP.
3. The reasion behind giveing Public IP on Firewall is to Terminate VPN on our Firewall i.e. SSL and IPSEC VPN.
Few Clarification If we can achive the above:
1. How will the DMZ Servicec nated with my Primary ISP on my Primary ASA will be routed when the Secondary ASA is acting as Active Firewall.
2. Can Web SSL and Client To Site IPSEC VPN users access service via the Secondary ISP- ASA when my Primary ASA and ISP is down.
I bought a RV042G router some days ago to manage 2 adsl lines at my home. Everything works correctly except one thing : i can't configure the bandwidth management. When i go to "Bandwidth Management" menu, then "Bandwidth Management Type" then i choose rate control or priority and i a had some rules to priorize http protocol for example, then i click on save button. After a few seconds of internet usage i loss connectivity to the router and internet and 192.168.1.1 became unreachable to ping. I had to unplung the power cord to restart the router, the same problem still occurs until i remove all the rules ! Some times i even had to do a factory reset because my adsl modems are unreachable behind the router (unable to ping the gateway).
View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically I have a simple LAN of 30 users and 2 servers that sit on a private address range (192.168.1.1 - 254). I have a Cisco 1921 router with 2 Gigabit Ethnet interfaces and have installed a 2 port Ethernet module to expand interfaces,I have Two Internet providers that provide me an Optic connection to a converter and then a CAT 5 cable. On both of these connections have private public assigned IP addresses.I have a email server and webserver on the LAN (192.168.2 and 192.168.1.3) and with to port forward various ports to these servers - 25, 80, 443 3389, and 2222.
In my external DNS I have two MX records for the mail server (mail.globalhomegroup.com) that point to 2 A records - one record for the publicly assigned IP address of one ISP and another IP address for the other ISP. Ideally what i would like is for mail to be delivered to the first ISP Ip address - the one with the lower MX weighting and then if that line goes down, through the IP address of the second MX record - the backup ISP we are using.
So I guess I am port forwarding to the inetrnal server IP addresses via one of the two external interfaces.At the same time I need to allow internal users to access HTTP, HTTPS etc.So I have managed somehow to configure the external interfaces of the routers to connect to the ISPs and have managed to assign IP info to intenral LAN interface. I can telnet to the router from the Internet via Dialer0 or Dialer1. Other than that I am totally stuck - I have tried to configure and debug NAT etc but cant see wood for the trees now. Basically the port forwarding is not working and i am not sure if the config I have done is in anyway correct.
I need to upgrade my location appliance. I am currently running a 2710, WCS version 6.0.196.0 and 21 4402 controllers on 6.0.182.0. There are 11 sites spread accross Canada and the Northern US. There are going to be a minimum of 4 more this year. The majority of my sites are outdoors and use 1522's. I have some indoor sites on 1242's, the biggest being an office building with 32 radios.The problem I have is I've hit the limit on clients that can be tracked on the 2710. For the record, I don't run rogue detection on all radios. I spread it out so that I don't get too many overlaps. I am looking at moving to the 3350 but see that the WIPS software does not include 1522's. Does that mean I lose my ability to detect disassociation floods etc if I go to the new platform? Or, does the context aware software still provide some notification.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI work at a hospital and one of our department uses specialized software created by Varian Medical Systems. It has been brought to my attention that one of those applications has trouble opening during the day. I had the users demonstrate the issue and from what they explained to they are supposed to be able to open the application, log in, and be presented with a list of radiology images to choose from. Unfortunately, during the day this fails often and they have to try 3 or 4 times before it actually works. It behaves differently after 4 pm, and seems to work after the 1st or 2nd time at that time of the day. According to what I've been told this has been an issue as long as they can remember.
Varian has told me that they have done a number of things on their side to rule out their software and they think it is a network issue. We used Solar winds Engineer's Tool set (specifically the Network Performance Monitor) to monitor their switch and it is reporting no errors and the utilization graphs show that the ports involved have very little utilization. The most heavily utilized port is hovering between 10 and 5 person (Fa0/40). I've included a network diagram, but basically we have 1 10/100 Cisco 3350 switch (c3550-ipservices-mz.122-25.SEB4.bin), 4 clients, and 2 servers involved. They all are connected to the same switch at A-Full/A-100mbps. Although the Network Performance Monitor doesn't show any errors or over utilizaton of the ports in the the CLI I do see 35 output buffer failures and 35 under runs on the port connected to one of the servers (Fa0/40). They were a little higher and I cleared them about two weeks ago and then rebooted the switch, because I found that it could alleviate these types of errors.
They say the software use ports 5000, 55000, 55010, and 55020. We tried a packet capture, but I didn't have enough experience/knowledge to get anything useful out of it. I also checked the event logs on the clients and servers and nothing there indicates a issue in the software. They want us to replace the switch with a gigabit switch, but we have a REALLY limited budget and I would rather not if it isn't necessary. What I could try in order to rule out the network?
I have a dell vostro 3350. I use it with both Windows and Linux OS (Mint, Ubuntu).
Recently I faced an issue with my motherboard (I guess it was a matter of short-circuit) so I called the Dell assistance and they quickly came out and substitute my motherboard. After that intervention, my wi-fi and figerprint reading stopped working at all. So I called again Delle assistance and they substituted both the wi-fi and the fingerprint reader. Everything seemed to work fine... since my PC went in hibernate mode.
In fact now the wi-fi card is disabled (not even seen by the OS) after the PC goes in sleep/hibernate mode or even if it is turned off and than on again. I need to turn off and on the PC at least one more time the PC in order to make the wi-fi card found (and working) again.
I checked with all the three OS I have in my PC so I guess the issue isn't related to the drivers. On the other hand, it looks like the wi-fi works totally fine... when it works. It is quite a systematic effect and not related to bumps or mechanical sullicitations, so I guess it is not a matter of wrongly-connected card either..
I have two NICs and two seperated network connections on Windows Vista System. I want all visits to websites that are blocked by our Corporation LAN go to the external network, so I can use my personal emails etc.All the other applications still use corporation LAN.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a networked PC with 2 NICs.One is connected to our business network, with a static IP address (10.38.75.xx) the other NIC (10.42.10.xx) is connected to a Controller machine.The business side of things works fine - network access & internet access works well.The intent with this PC is for a vendor to be able to RDP it (which he can) then open a browser and use the Controller's IP address (10.42.10.33) to access and control the connected machine.I am an administrator - logged in as myself, and trying to browse to this IP address, the page tries to load forever. It never times out or displays an error - just continues trying to load.At first, the vendor that was accessing this machine, when logged in as himself, COULD get the web page to open up at that IP - but he wasn't authorized to install an activeX program that needed to be installed. Logged in as myself, I couldn't get to the point where it asked to install the program.
Because I couldn't figure out how to fix this, I just set him as a local administrator as a short term fix - now he can't access the web page either. I've tried setting him back (removing his adminstrator privileges) - but now neither of us are able to access this page.
I have a quick question to ask regarding bridging two NIC/LAN ports on my home server to two LAN ports on a single gigabit router. Is this possible? Will the router have any trouble determining IP addresses? If so, is a certain router required for this to work that I am unaware of? I'm run a google search for any info on this subject but this particular question doesn't seem to have been asked that I'm able to find.
I'm essentially looking to increase any bandwidth throughput if possible for content streaming on my home network.
I have two nics (one on DHCP and on the internet) and the other with static IP and connected to a PLC. Is it possible to set the later to enable the PLC to access internet resources while keeping that network arrangement.

I have 2 nics in my win7 system, NIC 1 connect to leased line and NIC2 is connected to organization LAN for internet. Both the ip add are in same subnet. when both the cables are plugged in to nics, leased line link connected to nic1 goes down. It wouldn't come up untill the cable from nic 2 is plugged out.Basically i wish to be connected to both the networks simultaneously.

I use the fibre internet for almost all internet activities since the speed is fast.However, when I do school's stuff, I need to VNC to my lab's server. Hence I need to connect to school internet point. External IP cannot directly connects to my school's server.Therefore, I would need to force Windows (or VNC) to use the connection of the Wireless Ethernet card when I VNC to my lab's server. But I want to use my fibre for all other internet activities.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a PC on a crowded network that cannot handle much more bandwidth usage.I am now going to have a tons of transferring to do offsite so I added a second internet line just to deal with the influx of file transfers.I tried a dual WAN setup on my router and the performance was not improved (if it was nobody noticed it) so I said forget that idea, I only need to do these massive transfers from 1 PC so I will just add a second NIC to the machine so that the 1st NIC can maintain local network functionality and the 2nd NIC will be just for internet traffic (sending files up/down to offsite location) Essentially I just need NIC1 for handling local network, connecting to exchange etc. and NIC2 to handle files transfes to offsite location through seconday internet line.So now I have a desktop PC with two NICs. On nic1, there is a connection to my network 200.200.1.X which is the internal network for Exchange, local files transfers etc. This is the network i have always had connected and I have no problem connecting to my exchange server etc. (my server is providing dns/dhcp/wins/AD/MSE for the entire network)so I installed a secondary NIC and a secondary network line to the NIC2 on the machine.I set it up with an IP, a SN, a gateway and a DNSI removed the gateway from the 1st NIC.SO then I tried adding a gateway to BOTH of the NICs..This allows me to do EVERYTHING I want, however when i go to whatismyip.com and get a result, the IP it is giving me is NOT either of my static IPs (each network has a seperate internet line with a static IP). Not sure where this IP is coming from, but if i tracert google.com it says I am going out through the primary adaptor.The new IP from whatismyip.com makes no sense to me as it is not either of my static IPs, however it is very close.Would this be a situation where my ISP see's I have 2 gateways defined so it generates a 3rd external IP for some reason? Never heard of this but i am no guru.essentially I just need NIC1 for handling local network, connecting to exchange etc. and NIC2 to handle files transfers to offsite location through seconday internet line.
I have an issue with some traffic routing:
Machine A | Machine B (Win 2008 R2) | Machine C
Start: 192.168.5.9 > 192.168.5.5 (NIC 1) - 10.14.137.130 (NIC 2) > 10.14.137.128So the question is how do i get traffic from Machine A to Machine C. I've tried various 'Route ADD' cmds but no luck so far. So was hoping someone out there could shed some light for me?Machine B is a AD/DNS and can talk to the entire 10.14.137.x range but has no forwarders set up in DNS. And does not act as a AD/DNS server for the 10.14.137.x range. It fills these roles only for the 192.1668.5.x range.
