Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5520 - Internet Connection Lost
Nov 28, 2012
I have a Cisco ASA 5520 that we was working properly. I tried to create a VPN IPSEC to test but when I finished the wizard I lost the conection between the inside interface and outside. I use other interface for DMZ and other for printers network but this adapters are working properly. I have reviewed the NAT's and the ACL's but I don't see the problem?
I have delete the VPN IPSEC but it's still not working and I have the network down
Running ASDM V6.3 connecting to a couple of ASA5580's V8.2. After initial configuration everything seemed to work great, however, as of a few days ago I can no longer view statistical information. I can attach to the devices without a problem, view and edit all configuration information but the dashboard applets do not pull or display any statistical info. Resource, Interface, and Traffic status all time out with the error "Lost Connetion to Firewall". The syslog info is not display rather the error "Syslog Lost Connection". My first thought was a java issue on the client. I have ripped out and reinstalled even back-revisioned to no avail. I'm to the point where a dumpe of the management workstation is the next step. I'd like to avoid that extreme if possible.
When I try to connect to the internet I get IE cannot dislay the webpage. All connections show that they are working fine. I did the repair option for my LAN, it states that it is working & shows that it's connected.I tried to sign into MSN & got no connection. I ran the repair option & got a DNS & Keyports warnings.I am running Windows XP on my home computer
My computer is part of domain.I have one LAN connection. IP address 172.100.40.70 ,subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gate Way 172.100.40.1Another is one internet connection through bluetooth PAN IP address 192.168.0.103, subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gate Way 192.168.0.1.Problem is when I connect to LAN, internet connection is lost. If I take out LAN cable or disable LAN, I get the internet connection. I want to keep both LAN connection and bluetooth PAN internet connection.I must keep LAN IP address without changing.
I was trying to browse the internet earlier, and I randomly just lost my internet connection. My homepage loaded up just fine, but then I tried to go to another site. It was taking a while to load. After about a minute a page finally came up that said "Server not found" (I use firefox). I can't get on any websites now and I can't get internet on any of my wireless devices either. When I right clicked my network icon on the toolbar and clicked on diagnose and repair it said "There may be a problem with the DNS. Windows attempted to find the well known host www.microsoft.com using dns. The server responded that the name was unknown." I have Windows Vista. Now I have no idea what I could have done. I didn't do anything out of the normal, just tried to go to a website that I frequently visit with no problems and this happened. This is what I get when I type ipconfig/all in cmd prompt. [code]
I dont have an internet connection through my computer. This one tells me error 106. I have 3 computers hooked through the same router. So, I know I have internet, as I am writing this now. But for some reason, that computer is now telling me I lost the internet connection. I have tried unplugging everything, restarting the computer, and nothing has worked. I dont know how to get the internet back on that computer.
Whenever I restart or boot my computer, it loses internet connection (Local Area Connection Unplugged). I need to unplug the cable connecting my pc to the modem and replug it until the green and orange light comes on on the area where I plug the cble to the pc w/c means that there is already internet connectionSystem:Win XP sp3 OSGigabyte S-series motherboard ma74gm-s2Amd Athlon X3 processorMotorola SURFboard SB5101U/SB5101N Cable modem
I 've got some problem with my Mail Server since I've migrated to an ASA5510.Actually the server is in a DMZ with a private Ip ( 10.x.x.2) and it is translated to a Public IP ( 194.x.x.65).Some Users received in there mailbox a system administor error message :Object : Impossible to deliver : testYour message could not be deliver to one or more of its recipients: 421 SMTP connection went away! When they try to re sent it some times later, message is sent whithout problem.
The unit is configured as internet gateway. 4 NAT ports are active. When firewall disabled all works fine. When firewall enabled I do get connection lost at random interval. In firewall only 4 rules added to the default 3 rules. The added rules are:
1/ permit 192.168.1.22 port 25 to any 2/ permit 192.168.1.27 port 25 to any 3/ permit 192.168.1.10 port 25 to any 4/ deny any port 25 to any
I do get at random times connection lost when navigating with windows explorer on a PC with IP 192.168.1.x to a share on a PC with IP 172.25.152.74. The same happens when copying files. Sometimes it works, later it fails or reties are needed. When the firewall is switched off all runs fine.
Ping from 192.168.1.x to 172.25.152.74 allways give a <1ms response
Is there a RV082 perfomance problem or do I have a configuration problem?
I installed a new ASA using 8.2.2 version and ASDM 6.2.5 version in contexts mode. When i enable logging for ASDM as debugging i cannot use the real time log viewer because I have an error "Syslog connection Lost. Try restarting the syslog connection", I tried to reconnect using the icon at the bottom but nothing change.
Implement the procedures required so that machine 1 and machine 2 can communicate statically with one another. Outline the TCP/IP settings to be used on each of the machines and set this machine up accordingly.
I followed this guide [TUT] Setting a static internal IP (Windows and Linux)but what has happened is that now the two machines can't connect to the internet.
I have just turned my PC on to find that i have lost connection to the internet through my desktop PC. I am using the wired connection to my router, and i also have my xbox connected to the router which is working ok too. My laptop also works when connecting to the router both wired and wirelesly.
My network adaptor on my desktop is a Nvidia nForce, i have tried updating the driver on this to no avail. Next i tried to ping the router but i get PING Transmit faild, error code 1231. I ran IPCONFIG /all and found that i had no default gateway set, and also it was saying that the ethernet adaptor was : Media Unoperational, but since i rebooted both the pc and router the media unoperational tag has gone.
On the network and sharing page it shows i am connected to an unidenfied network but there is a cross through the internet. It also says the access and Connection for the unitentified network are Local only.
I no longer have internet access from my home network ONLY on my desktop computer. Everything was working fine as always - then while I was in my Network and Sharing Center, and clicked on my ethernet connection, 'Local Area Connection 3', I accidentally disabled it. No big deal I thought, so I re-enabled the connection. Except for some reason, my connection is all screwed up now. The name of this connection was and always has been 'dkm2' and now it just says 'Network', with no internet access. I have unplugged the cord and plugged it into this laptop and it immediately recognizes 'dkm2' and connects flawlessly, so I know the problem is on the desktop computer's end, and not the cable or router. I have tried reinstalling the ethernet adapter, as well as reinstalling/updating all drivers for it.The network diagnostic tool turns up with a message that says the connection between either my ethernet adapter or router and the Internet is broken. No matter what I seem to try, I can't get my connection to go back to it's normal 'dkm2' connection and stop giving me a generic, disconnected 'Network'. I can't figure out what could have changed. All that happened was the disabling and enabling of Local Area Connection 3.
Implement the procedures required so that machine 1 and machine 2 can communicate statically with one another. Outline the TCP/IP settings to be used on each of the machines and set this machine up accordingly. I followed this guide http:[URL]....tid=210 but what has happened is that now the two machines can't connect to the internet. How can I fix this?
Here is a links to the ipconfig/ all on the XP virtual machine http:[URL]....the default gate way here is the same as on my actual working machine.
I have lost my wireless connection on my acer notebook... where is the button/switch etc to give me the blue flashing light to demonstrate connection to my wireless internet?
I have PC System Windows XP home edition Version 2002 SP3 and I lost Internet access in the middle of downloading a new program. I have a Motorola modem and modem is connected to the Netgear router. When I turn my desktop PC on which is connected to the router it shows the local connection is connected, but the Bridge Network cable is unplugged I have no idea what that is and if I need it to be connected to the internet. I called the Comcast service and the lady assistant did not even know what the Bridge cable is and I do not know ether since. I do not know what I should do to get the connection back to the PC; another PC work just fine also is connected to the router.
We've had no problems with our Internet before but yesterday I could only get local access connection. Neither my iPhone, laptop or home computer cud get any further than local connection on wireless.I'v tried the classic turnin it off and on (the router) and I'v tried connection with a cable but still gettin the same connection level! The router is a netgear if that means anything!
Yesterday we had a very brief power outage and until then everything worked fine. Small business that runs modem - router - switch. Since the power outage I can only get internet if I run straight into the modem. As soon as I run from the modem to any (tried 3 different ones) router I lose internet. I get a wireless signal on my router. I've reset the router to default settings. I've plugged in another router to the modem to check and I don't get anything from that router either (which was not plugged in during the power outage).
I have an HP EliteBook 6930p with windows 7 installed and everything was working fine until i did a recent windows upgrade (might just be a coincidence) and i suddenly lost internet connection. My laptop picks up the router, shows full strength but i cannot connect to the internet wireless or Ethernet cable. I restored to a previous date and it worked fine, and all my other devices work fine (iPad, iPhone, other laptops). The trouble is when i connected to the internet again it up dated windows and i cant restore back to the original date anymore as it has gone from the list.
I am running Windows 7 - 64 bit on my laptop. I currently have Avast Internet Security installed and I have tried to uninstall the Avast software as I wish to change my antivirus software. I have tried uninstalling in safe mode using the Avast Clear utility. Unfortunately after using this utility the Avast program still remains on my hard drive in Program Files which I then have to delete manually. After doing so and restarting my computer I have no internet connection and the only way I can restore my internet connection is by copying the Avast program back into my Program Files.
I have lost my wireless internet connection it has been working perfectly, I phoned Sky and they say I will have to speak to dell to see where my internet has gone. I have a Studio 1745 Laptop. Is there a manual disable button on my laptop that I may have disabled by mistake.
I have a DELL inspiron N5110 laptop. I have 2 laptops at home including this one. However the Dell suddenly stopped connecting to our Sky broadband when it was previously connecting normally. The other devices including Iphones are fine! It says there is normal broadband connection, but then no internet connection! how to get back internet connection!
I have wireless internet with a cisco valet router. My problem is that yesterday when I turned on a laptop that I use only once a week or so, now shows the signal strength of the network but I can not gain access to it. The main error message I get when I troubleshoot is that the network connection has come unplugged.Yes, I have the wireless switch turned on, on the laptop. That was the first thing I checked. I uninstalled cisco software on the laptop and reinstalled it and the laptop will not connect to the network.
I have a dual wan router with a main cable modem for high speed and a backup adsl modem hooked just in case. The problem is that quite often it seems that my ISP loose his connection to the internet but communication is not lost between my ISP and my modem and router. Because of this, my router doesn´t do the automatic changeover from my WAN 1 to my WAN 2 hooked slower ADSL modem. My router has the ping to keep alive option checked on the WAN 1 setings using my Cable ISP provided IP address. How can I force my router to notice that my cable ISP lost his connection to the internet and do right away the changeover from his WAN 1 to his WAN 2 input?
I have a wire ADSL connection and I use ADSL WiFi enabled router for distribute my internet connection with in my other devices (on my home network). When I downloading large files (more than 30MB) over the internet using my WiFi connection, my connection drop several times. However if I exchange large files within my WiFi network (with in home network via WiFi), my WiFi connection not drop (I can exchange 6GB files without any issue). Why is that? Is it my router issue or my ADSL connection issue? Most of the time after I lost internet connection, i can see my WiFi connectivity standby, it's not disconnect. However some time it completely disconnect. After I lost the connection (standby or completely disconnected) it again automatically connect.
I face this issue if i download large files on the internet, via the WiFi, if i download large files on internet using Ethernet cable, my connection not drop, it's stable. I use default wireless settings on my router? I use open WiFi connection.
I had unplugged my computer due to painting the room. When i plugged back it I couldn not connect to internet. But oddlly enough my mcafee security center gave me a message that mcafee subscription expired, which it can't as I use it through my subscription through aol. Had this problem once before. So i uninstalled mcafee. I ran malwarebytes to see if there was anything that might prevent me for accessing internet, it found two adware that I quarentined.
I have tested my ethernet cord and connectivity on another computer it works fine.I had a realek RTL8139 Family PCI Ethernet NIC, i reloaded the driver after downloading from my other computer, now it say it is a realtek RTL 8139/810x family ethernet nic, not sure if I downloaded the wrong driver but before that I tried changing the speed to less than auto detect.
I have rebooted in safe mode in case there was a virus. I am at my wits end.Is there a way to factory reset the network adapter. What else can I do. light at the ethernet port looks to be yellow. Everything says it is working, I just can't connect.
Cable modem connected directly to a Dell Vostro laptop works fine. Same cable reconnected to Dell Dimension 4700 is not working. This has all been working fine for years - usually I have a wireless network with the 4700 connected to the router by Ethernet cable, and the Vostro connected by wireless, but I have removed the router to close in on the problem.First, I am not sure if my ip settings are correct. This is the output from 'ipconfig /all' [CODE].
I have the latest flash installed. I am making use of all the options available to this router. USB drive set up as a file server, both radio bands have devices which attach. All wifi security is wpa2 with a complex key string. Also have pc’s attached to all lan ports. I also have all the wireless devices registered on the mac address filter for access set to enable/allow. I have a total of 9 mac address in the list. One lan device is on the DMZ. One address is reserved. Not sure what other details you need.Router is used for online gaming, video streaming, and typical internet browsing.
