The sonic firewall currently allows email traffic, web traffic, and dns traffic. When I use the current config below on the asa I am unable to receive email from the outside network. I can send and browse websites but I cannot receive email.

I have a Cisco asa 5510. I am doing attack a my firewall, using n map. I am seeing in the log the attack but i like that firewall send only alarm of attack by email . I have active email with warning and i received very much email.
I observed that graph show attack, but not ip of attacker, is possible that Cisco asa show the ip too ? The log show scanning with n map but not shunning IP and not send alarm. How i can send alarm ? The graph no show ip, it's possible show it.
Yesterday, I installed the N450 DB and it was probably the easiest install I've ever had to do. One problem though, I can now no longer send or receive email thru Outlook Express 6. We have a ASA 5510 which was running 8.0.2, we recently upgraded it to 8.2.5 and since the upgrade remote users for exchange 2007 are not able to download any large email attachments(over or close to 1MB). This is only happening to Outlook anywhere users or OWA users who are connecting to the exchange server using https(443) externally. If the same users connects internally they do not face any issue. When i check the logs on ASA i am gettings lots of RESET-O and RESET-I entries. Looks like the connection between the client and the server gets reset.
View 14 Replies View RelatedOur ASA 5510 has been in place for nearly two years, we never have any issue what so ever with it. All along the ASA has been using the default policy. Lately, we beeen getting email deferred in our Barracuda Spam firewall. Google quickly reveals that ESMTP does not play nice with Barracuda witch i disabled eventhough we haven't had any issue with it before. However, the issue remains, we still getting email deferred in the barracuda.
While doing more troubleshooting on the ASA, I constated when issue the command show local-host + IP of the Barracuda, there is an IP address in outside of the interface that can get up to 96 UDP port 53 connections with the Barracuda, this connection never get lower than 20! However, when checking the default setup for the Barracuda, i have the values below:
Incoming SMTP Timeout: 20
Message per SMTP Session : 8
Maximum SMTP Error SMTP Session: 2
Maximum Connection per Client 30m:40
My question is if that ASA show up to 96 DNS session with an outside host to my barracuda, won't that push the barracuda to play email deferred timeout ? Should I change the barracuda default setting? Or should i change the connections limits for the Barracuda in the ASA?
I know that I've run into this before but I can't remember the fix. I have a 5510. The 3 interfaces involved are INSIDE, OUTSIDE, and GUEST. Corporate users are allowed to put their iPhones on the Guest network, but the problem is that their Exchange ActiveSync stops working. It is tied to the external DNS name of the OWA server (we'll say webmail.abc.com). So the users are funneled out one public IP on the OUTSIDE interface and are trying to communicate with the outside of the OWA server, which is NATed to another public IP on the same outside interface. What do I need to do on the ASA to allow users on the guest network (behind the GUEST interface) to access the mail server using its public IP (behind the INSIDE interface)

This works fine through a LinkSys RV042 in one location and a LinkSys WRT54GC in another, but fails through the DIR-615 B2 (2.24 firmware) at home. I'm guessing it's blocking something needed for the MAPI connection.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAt random times, my internet will "drop" connection and will not download any packets, but I am still able to send packets. My Local Area Connection icon continues to say I am connected, my modem is fully functional, and my cables are good. I can get my internet back up and running for 10 minutes or so by disable and re-enabling my Network Connection. If I simply try the "repair", it gives me an error at the "Refreshing IP" step.I have done a full system scan for viruses and I am clean. My drivers are fully updated, I have disabled my firewalls, and still no luck. During the times when it is down, I can successfully ping my modem through CMD, but I get the time-out error if I ping a site, my default gateway, the DHCP Server, or the DMS Servers.I have made no changes to any major settings on my computer, nor has there been any recent additions/removals of any software.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to switch out our old firewall which is a 5510 for our new 5520, but we keep running into this problem on both devices with almost the exact same configs. Currently I have the 5510 installed, and I cannot get our email server and RDP server to ping out to our internet gateway.
Attached is a sanitized config. From the config you can see the internal address of the email server is 11.2.1.29, external address is 73.13.198.211. RDP server is internal address 11.2.1.33, external 73.13.198.212. Our internet gateway is 73.13.198.209.
From another computer with a 11.2.1.X address I can ping out to the internet gateway. The other two devices drop (I believe) when they hit the firewall.

I use windows7 32bit already and I didn't have any problem with that (Bluetooth), but now I use windows7 64bit and install all update drivers successfully and my Bluetooth working but after 1 day or shorter my Bluetooth not working although It is installed on my laptop and I can see it's Icon in system tray and I see in control panel and device manager that is Installed on my laptop successfully and all Bluetooth setting is checked and It is OK and also I can receive file from other device to my laptop but I can't send, because I don't have Bluetooth Icon in right-click (send to). I work in an environment with multiple locations, most are using the Cisco Model: 2911/K9 or the Model: 2921/K9 routers running IOS Version 15.0.We just added a new small office and all I had in the way of a router was a Cisco C1841-IPBASE-M router, running IOS Version 12.4.When setting up the C1841 I kept the configuration pretty much the same as the others allowing for the differences in the OS. I can remote into the 0/0 (outside port) from over the network, I can ping to that port without fail, but I can’t send or receive traffic from the 0/1 (inside port).

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a RV220W (running fw version 1.0.2.4) that i am trying to configure for a client. They are set up on Comcast with 13 available IP's. I should note that this netowrk is now currently running without issue using a Cisco Pix 506e. Unfortunately, the Pix is almost impossible to configure using the GUI now as I have to load a 4-year old version of Java now just to get the PDM to load. But I digress.I've set up the RV using the identical settings as the Pix on bth the LAN and WAN side. When I do, computers on the LAN side can all reach the Internet ok. However, once I enable one-to-one NAT for an internal server, that machine can't send or receive ANY traffic to the WAN side. I've even tried setting access rules enabling ANY traffic in both directions, and that has no effect. Either I'm missing something, or this is just one more bug in this product.
Even though it was a bit of a step down going from the Pix to the RV220W, it was done for the ease of setting up VPN's as I was ready to purchase a second one for a new satellite office opening in a few weeks. It looks like we will be switching vendors on the router side as my faith in Cisco is waning at this point.

Issues occur on both FF and IE. As with you I am able to continue to get some information on sites that are currently open (for example I will get incoming IMs, although I cannot send replys, and my stream on facebook continues to update). Once this happens I cannot open any new webpage or use the wireless on ANY other device in my house (iphones and printer); wired devices seem to have no issues. I have done everything as far as resetting, updating firmware etc to my router with no luck. I have a netgear dual band router, computers with Windows 7 64bit. It seems that accessing Hotmail on the iphones does not trigger the same issue...
