I have a 6506 with SUP1, no MSFC running CatOS.
Module 1: Removed

Module 6: WS-X6408A-GBIC
However, it doesn't seems to be able to bootup properly. Could this be an hardware issue? What should I do?
we just replace 6500 with N7K, after migration there're some device (server,pc,printer) change its ip address configuration (subnet and gateway) by it self. can N7K did it?

I had search doc about power supply /cable , only show support single phase 220 v ,but not description vlot between each wire !!Does new location power outlet suit for 2960/3750s power and 6500 ws-cac-3000w ?!? Do I need chane power outlet back to current using?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running on windows 7 professional with a realtek gigabit ethernet port. It's a gateway SX2370. It originally came with home premium and a bunch of bloatware so I restored with pro. I thought I installed all the drivers but a few minutes after bootup, the ethernet breaks. It works for a few minutes, as I can access the internet, and then itt gives me the no internet access error. I used a usb wireless card and that works after bootup, but doesn't run as nearly as fast as my gigabit ethernet.

Customer has a Catalyst WS-C2960-48PST-L. and in some ports we have VoIP phones with PoE company Aastra. If I use first config we have problem when phone boot up.
First config:

The MAC shown here is from a voip Phone. After the phone boot up, the p, because it must boot first in vlan 250 (access vlan). On the port you can only see the MAC from vlan 201. With the second config the phone can boot without problems:

is there a reason, why it is the problem with the first config on cat2960 ? The same first config works with an Cat2950 without problems.
A month after i had this laptop(bought new) its started have insanely slow connection times after booting up. The little blue circle starts to twirl meaning its searching for a wireless network. It then freezes and takes about 1 min- 5min to actually come back to normal and connect to a network. If i hibernate or standby there is no such problem, only after a fresh reboot. For this reason i usually never turn off my laptop, thus avoiding a lot network connection wait.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do configuration archiving in Prime Infrastructure 1.2 with a 5508 WLC (7.4).The job always fails (Admin -> Background Jobs) with the following error (see attachement):"SNMP: Failed to establish SNMP connection xxxx - Cause: Device is Unreachable. Check the ReadOnly community string." I double checked the SNMP credentials, they do match. For testing I also added a Public community just for the PI. Same result.Am I missing something?Is this not intended for Wireless Controllers?

I have then entered the controller IP using the command: [code] The Controller is set to 'GB' (regional code -E), and has the correct time zone (though I do notice this is GMT and not BST) but when the AP connects it shows the time an hour earlier than the time on the WLC GUI.

I have been experiencing a strange problem i have a switch stack of 3750 in which 4 switches are cascaded. there is one one switch shows PROVISIONED status when I run "show switch". i have verified the stack cable connectivity its OK.
now when i try to console that particular switch i am unable to access it as well. I tried to reboot that switch and on reboot it only shows one LED syst blink once and after that remains constant and nothing happens to other LEDS. from the back of the switch FAN is working fine.
how to setup this old switch 4500. It is running CATOS and I want to make sure that when I connect it to the network it doesn't create a loop since it has to be compatible with other vendors, not just Cisco.I don't have anything connected but these are my concerns: It doesn't show my lacp-channel (i believe this is what is used to for Teaming network cards), it doesn't show my trunk ports.

I just started a new Position and they have CATos still runing on some of there 4506 and 6509 switches. I amy trying to come up with a plan to upgrade the switches to IOS but I dont know if they will take it or not. I know I need to get flash Cards to hold the IOS but i need to make sure that I get the right IOS for the Switches.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a client who is changing their management IP scheme as a bridge to replacing equipment and much of the old equipment (Catalyst 4000) is running CatOS and I am a bit weak in CatOS. The existing Management IP is setup as follows:

What we want to change this to is as follows:

The devices are spreadout over a large area and visiting each device is almost out of the question due to a time deadline I was wondering if I run this set of commands will this allow me to keep a remote session (SSH) running until the change is complete?

We are implementing NAC in our environment and unfortunately still some of our obsolete 6500 switches are running CATOS, the current (cat6000-sup2cvk9.8-6-4.bin) image does not support some of the commands related to NAC implementation. Therefore, I would like to urge you to provide me the 8.7 image which supports all the NAC related commands and will be easier to finish the long pending assignment.
We are in process of replacing the obselete hardware but that will take time.
So, 8.7 K9 CATOS image required.

I have a new 6513 with 2 sup32's with IOS. This chassis will replace a working 6513 with 2 sup2's with CatOS.I would like to convert my CatOS running configs to IOS, and I know there used to be a tool for this.
I have searched around and found many broken links to an old Cisco tool to convert my former configs, is there any way to get this tool today? I have tried over 20 links and not been able to find a working one yet.
I have a question. I have a 6500 with two supervosrs and they both have CATOS. One of them failed and I need to replace. As long as the hardware is the same does the CATOS have to be indentical or can this be different.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a windows 7 desktop with an SSD and regular mechanical hard drive where I keep my data. I also have a laptop with a small SSD as well. I wanted to keep the laptop free of non-critical data so I decided to setup a file share between my desktop (Windows 7 home prem) and my laptop (Windows 7 pro). I was able share the files and navigate to my desktop through my laptop. I successfully mapped the folder as a network drive and all was well. Then I rebooted and I was disconnected from it, it remembered that it was there but I needed to manually connect to it and I needed to provide my login credentials. There is no password just a username.
What is causing this and is there a way to get around this? Also is there a way to set a timeout because if my desktop is not on and I want to use my laptop, the boot times are much longer compared to when I don't have the mapped network drive on my laptop at all.
I need to replace a faulty fan unit on the catos WS-6509 switch. this Catos switch does not support show inventory so any other catos commands which will show me this part id?
