Cisco :: Remote Vpn Client To Router With Cellular Interface?
Apr 28, 2011I'm having extreme issues in getting my vpn client to connect to a cisco router with a hwic-3g-hspa cellular interface
I have tested the config remotely by traversing the tunnel I have setup with a cisco vpn client and the client does connect, however when out on the road it doesn't respond, I'm litterally hitting my head against a brick here, everything just seem right I can't explain it.
I have done debugs and there is no sign of life, its as though when the vpn client connects to the router its not responding any way here is my config for the vpn clients part that is.

Cisco WAN :: 819 - Cellular 0 Goes Down When Interface Goes Up
Jan 25, 2013I've been able to activate and configure the Cisco 819 router to connect to Verizon via interface Cellular 0 but when I connect a laptop to the router, int Cell 0 goes down.
Here's a snippet of what happens after I connect a laptop:
rt1#ping 8.8.8.8

Cisco WAN :: 819 Cellular Interface Drops When FastEthernet Comes Up
Apr 25, 2013We're seeing a strange issue with a Cisco 819 that we're testing out. We are able to ping out over the Cellular interface just fine, but as soon as we plug a device into one of the FastEthernet ports we immediately drop the cell connection. The Cell interface then continues to bounce until we unplug the device. We are intending to setup a VPN tunnel, but we've even stripped all that out for the sake of troubleshooting.

Jun 3, 2013I have an issue regarding using cellular interface on cisco 881G. The 3G module is Aircard 504. SIMcard is working on other devices, it have obtain IP address from mobile operator. But on cisco881G it doesnt work.

Any example config that I can see or point me in the right dorection to get this up and running? I have the cellular card set up as Cellular0/1/0 on the interface, I assume that that was done by default, and it has an IP address. The Static Route of 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Cellular0/1/0, in the config with only 2 other interfaces as being direct connection. But that is as far as I recognize. Do I need to set up a router protocol? Which one? How do I use the cellular card? Do I need to have an ISP connection?

Apr 10, 2012I operate a network of sites for a state air monitoring program. One site has two trailers that were previously connected with a wireless ethernet bridge. I installed a cellular router to give them internet access, and they were both able to utilize the connection through the LAN. The ethernet bridge recently went down, and I tried replacing it with a standard wireless router and wireless adapter I purchased from Staples (I needed something right away). When I linked the two trailers with a wireless network connection, it disconnected the LAN and I was unable to access the internet. Is it possible to do this? I'm assuming a wireless ethernet bridge would be better, and also the cellular router does not have a wireless function on it, or I would assume that would be best?

May 5, 2011There is a remote server that downloads info from a server here at HQ. When the dowloads start the rxload on the S0/0/0 interface jumps to 98 percent or so; rxload 250/255. I needed to limit the bandwidth utilization between the servers, so I added the below line to the LAN interface on the remote router.By adding the command, it reduced the download utilization -which is what I wanted.

Feb 29, 2012I am working at a client site today. This specific client has decided to replace their legacy 2600 branch office routers with newer 1921 ISR G2 routers as they move from a Legacy Frame WAN to a MPLS network with a different provider.
The backup in the former scenario was actually an ISDN solution. Moving forward, the provider has sold them a 3G backup solution. To support this, we have purchased Cisco line cards for the 3G. The part number for the cards is "EHWIC-3G-EVDO-V=".
I was asked by the client this morning if there was a way to tell what the IMEI number for the 3G card was. I performed a shew inventory, as well as a shew hardware, but I do not see this IMEI number. I also checked the label on the packaging box that the cards came in, but do not see this number. Is there a way to tell what this number is for each card?

Mar 7, 2012We have a Cisco 3825 router which does not work well with a DSL modem(ISP provided). I have configured the Gi0/0 port of the router to plug into this DSL modem but it does not ping to the ISP gateway. If we do a shut/no shut on the interface then it work fine for about 30 secs. Sometimes even for 1 hr. Then the packets drop and we cannot pass any traffic through this interface.Now, if the ISP connection is terminated on a computer it works fine. It works fine without dropping any packet. I have tried various options like using a straight/cross cable. I have tried to configure the interface negotiation for 100/full, 100/half, auto/auto and almost all the options. I have also tried to interconnect the devices using a L2 device like a HUB. Nothing works.

Nov 12, 2012I recently obtained a 2851 and have been battling this issue for a week now. An odd set of circumstances happen with the bootstrap startup process. If the router has loss of power or when reloaded; it fails to read the CF card and boots to rommon. I can tftp an image to it (tftpdnld -r) and IOS CAN read the flash card along with any saved configuration.In fact once in IOS, I can wr mem and print the hardware details of the CF card. Once I reload the router it goes to rommon, fails to open the flash, then sits until i tftp the image back. When the router load IOS, it also loads the startup config.I don't think it's a problem with the CF card as IOS can read it. I've tried formatting the card from IOS and from my pc as FAT, FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS - it didn't make a different. I updated the ROMMON to allow for USB booting but haven't purchased a USB Drive yet for testing. The upgrade didn't resolve this issue either. It almost seems like a firmware problem with the EPROM.
