The tunnel connection is establishing correctly but when i change the priority in he hsrp configuration of my gig 0.1 interface to be the active on this router the cellular 0/0/0 interface goes down, by the way this is going to be my redundancy.

I am working at a client site today. This specific client has decided to replace their legacy 2600 branch office routers with newer 1921 ISR G2 routers as they move from a Legacy Frame WAN to a MPLS network with a different provider.
The backup in the former scenario was actually an ISDN solution. Moving forward, the provider has sold them a 3G backup solution. To support this, we have purchased Cisco line cards for the 3G. The part number for the cards is "EHWIC-3G-EVDO-V=".
I was asked by the client this morning if there was a way to tell what the IMEI number for the 3G card was. I performed a shew inventory, as well as a shew hardware, but I do not see this IMEI number. I also checked the label on the packaging box that the cards came in, but do not see this number. Is there a way to tell what this number is for each card?
I have a 1921 with 3 interfaces. One for the LAN and the other 2 are wan each with a public address. The 2 wan interfaces are used for redundancy. I would like to know how I can static nat the same port and inside address on both wan interfaces.So if the request comes in on one or the other it works. I know if I do a static nat to one of the wan interfaces and then add the same port and inside address to the other wan interface it replaces the previous configure.

We need to install a router between the fiber switch and our own core switch to be able to access the IP's allocated to the property. We installed a 1700 with the below config, but we want to purchase a brand new router and we were looking towards possibly the 1921 if the budget allows. Our distributor is telling us that we need to purchase an Ethernet WIC also, but if the router already has 2 ethernet interfaces, why do we need to purchase more hardware? I am a little out of the loop with routers at the moment, so I am not sure if they correct or not, just looking to see if this is the case and if so, why?

Im asking above question because we will need to enable ip-sla on the mentioned router. as i read on the cisco webside, it says Cisco-ISR-1921/K9-IP Base support only IP-SLA RESPONDER feature nothing else. If Cisco-921/K9 does not support the above commands , should i go for ordering Cisco-1921-SEC/K9 ?
I've been able to activate and configure the Cisco 819 router to connect to Verizon via interface Cellular 0 but when I connect a laptop to the router, int Cell 0 goes down.

We are able to ping out over the Cellular interface just fine, but as soon as we plug a device into one of the FastEthernet ports we immediately drop the cell connection. The Cell interface then continues to bounce until we unplug the device. We are intending to setup a VPN tunnel, but we've even stripped all that out for the sake of troubleshooting.

I have a 2801 router with a HWIC-3G-cdma card that I have inherited from a predicessor. How to use a cellular card on a router and need to get this thing up and running. Any example config that I can see or point me in the right dorection to get this up and running? I have the cellular card set up as Cellular0/1/0 on the interface, I assume that that was done by default, and it has an IP address. The Static Route of 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Cellular0/1/0, in the config with only 2 other interfaces as being direct connection. But that is as far as I recognize. Do I need to set up a router protocol? Which one? How do I use the cellular card? Do I need to have an ISP connection?

I operate a network of sites for a state air monitoring program. One site has two trailers that were previously connected with a wireless ethernet bridge. I installed a cellular router to give them internet access, and they were both able to utilize the connection through the LAN. The ethernet bridge recently went down, and I tried replacing it with a standard wireless router and wireless adapter I purchased from Staples (I needed something right away). When I linked the two trailers with a wireless network connection, it disconnected the LAN and I was unable to access the internet. Is it possible to do this? I'm assuming a wireless ethernet bridge would be better, and also the cellular router does not have a wireless function on it, or I would assume that would be best?

I have tested the config remotely by traversing the tunnel I have setup with a cisco vpn client and the client does connect, however when out on the road it doesn't respond, I'm litterally hitting my head against a brick here, everything just seem right I can't explain it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are a small business that just bought a Cisco 1921 ISR. I am trying to set it up right now but I cannot get CCP to discover it. I am new to Cisco products and IOS.The router is currently set up in a test environment with a USB connection to a Win7 PC for console management. I also have the PC connected to gigabit ethernet port 0/1. I am using putty to access the console which I did with no problem for the initial configuration. After that I thought I would be okay to discover the router with CCP using the IP address I specified but then it prompted me for a username/password which I didn't see in the initial configuration. After this I did some research and found out I needed to set up a few more things so I ran the following commands: [code]
After this the video I was watching said to go in to CCP and specify the IP address or hostname of the router and use the login info that was just created admin/pw. When I ran the discovery I got the failure message: Connection to the device could not be established. Either the device is not eachable or the HTTP service is not enabled.When I run 'show ip interface' I notice 'Router Discovery disabled" is this why it is not working? How can I enable this or what else am I missing here? Am I not connecting to the router correctly? Oh and just for reference our plan is to have this router set up as a VPN gateway and firewall with 2 WANs for redundancy and connecting to our switch via an HWIC SFP for fiber.
I have installed a Cisco 1921 router in our company and i have stumbled upon an issue with the DNS.
We have a internal DNS server and an internal WEB server. In the DNS server there are records pointing to sites on the WEB server, this is working just fine.
The thing is when i use a public DNS such as 8.8.8.8 (googles public DNS) i cannot resolv the external IP of those sites. I do not want to access the sites and i do not want to send any packets to the sites. All i want is to query the public DNS and resolv the public IP where the site is.

My DHCP Server is working hence my internal network is getting IP address as desired. But Router doesn't seem to connect to internet for some reason.
I am trying to make it a internet facing router with static IP address (67.210.209.113). LAN side of this router will be our .11 Network which is our Dev Network.
