I can't seem to reset my switch and realized the reset button is missing/broken off. Is there an alternate method to reset the switch to factory settings? If not, how do I figure out the IP of the web interface, it is not the default.

According to the Belkin support tech, apparently the weather (?) may have effected my Belkin Model F5D8235-4 v3 router. My wife pressed the re-set button instead of powering down which according to the tech set my router to reading zero (0).Belkin tech refused to tell me how to re-set the router unless I paid $75 for a six month support plan because mine expired recently.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was given this router (it's my 3rd one) and cannot get the reset button to reset the password. I have run throught a 30/30/30 reset as well as just holding the button in for the standard 30 seconds.
I know the router works, as in i can ping it. It asks for a password when i go to 192.168.1.1, but *blank* and "admin" do not work. When i click the cancel button it displays a pink(salmon) screen that says "401 Unauthorized Authrization required". (all of this is when i am connected to it with an ethernet cable to #1)
When it's sitting there it has an led lit over power and one ove wlan which flickers from time to time.
I was in the Wireless tab>Basic Wireless Settings and then I clicked the "Reset Security" button. I don't know what that did but I've been completely shut out of my connection ever since and I don't know how to fix it. I tried doing the install sequence of the router just now (Clone MAC address, then release and renew DHCP, power cycle modem, router, and PC) but it still didn't work.

So I was wondering if there is a similar mecanism that applies to other kind of Catalyst switches, like 2960, 3560 or 3750.
I have been asked to do a network survey at a client. They are using the Cisco SGE2000 switch, which is new to me (used to working with 3750 switches). They seem to have lost the username/pasword for one the switches. Is there an way to recover from this, without reseting the whol config (not sure they even have a backup) ..

I tried to update to 1.3.0.59 this morning. It succeeded and the switch was restarted. After the restart I could no longer log into the switch. I tried to reset the switch but it still will not let me log in. I also tried to log into the switch using the forllowing method but I still cannot log in. I unpluged everything, held the reset for at least 30 seconds, waited 3 minutes, plugged a computer in and set it up to see the switch. All worked there and the login page appeared. It still would not take my login dredentials nor wold it that the default credentials. I has access through the switch but connot configure anything.

I use Cisco switch sg300-28. When i turn it off and turn on, it reset to factory reset include login password, dose it normal operation or I miss anything?

Decided to try to reset it using the button on the front. Using the documentation, I held down the button for over 10 seconds. Didn't reset to factory defaults, tried again and rebooted it, still nothing. What I am I doing wrong. Also nothing comes up on console window and I'm using the setting for Hyper Terminal that the documentation says I should use.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI own a HP laptop (runs Windows 7), and lately when I either turn it on or log back in for the first time in a day, it's not connected to the internet, despite my brother's desktop computer (Windows XP) being connected (it's right beside the router and modem). Before, we would have to just unplug the router for a few seconds and then plug it back in again to get the connection to work again on my laptop, which that alone we don't understand why, as there are periods of time we have no problems connecting on either end, like I just bought this laptop at Christmas and have had no connectivity problems until now. Now however, when we unplug the router and plug it back in, it kicks my brother's computer off the internet despite his connection being good prior to, apparently it loses its IP address when we do that. So then we have to unplug/replug the modem and router plus sometimes restarting my brother's computer to finally get it working again.
