Cisco Switches :: SG 300 - VLAN Was Not Created By User Error

I managed to create VLAN 30 (mgmt) and VLAN 888 (blackhole) on this SG 300 switch. Now I've configured ports 1-6 untagged on VLAN 30 and left ports 7-8 untagged in VLAN 1. Port 10 is my uplink to my router, which config looks like this:
interface gigabitethernet10
spanning-tree portfast
spanning-tree guard root
switchport trunk allowed vlan add 30
switchport trunk native vlan 888
If I connect a device into port 7 or 8, I get no IP address from the relevant DHCP server on my router. Thus, I thought I could add VLAN 1 to the trunk, but here's the surprise:

I have a Windows 2003 SP2 server with a shared folder. This folder is accessed by 2 people on a regular basis. The problem we are experiencing is when a folder is created by user A, it cannot be moved by user B (and vice versa), as it says the folder is in use.The exact error is: Error Moving File or Folder.Cannot move <filename>: Access is denied.Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.I have explicitly set full control for both users on the folder. The drive has 70GB of 500GB remaining. I have also used File Server Management to verify the files were not in use when they were being moved.The server is Windows 2003, SP2. Domain environment, with all relevant users having permissions on the folder, and the everyone account removed. Any other operation inside the shared folder works fine.

Catalyst 6509E Switch running IOS version 12.2. Created a new VLAN layer 2, created it layer 3 with an IP address. Issued the state active command and the no shutdown command. when doing a show vlan, shows in the list and active. When doing show int vlan xx, shows as down. Need to get it to be up, have attempted to assign a port to that VLAN in hopes it will come up, but still no go.

In my setup , i have one core switch 4506, 3750 access switches and 4948 server switch.i have created the mngmt VLAN in every switch.the problem is i can ping the every device mngmt ip from any internal network,but my server switch mngmt ip i am not able to ping.trunk link is configure between the core and server,access switches.What is the problem with 4948 switch?

Created 2 separate VLANs on SGE2010P switch. Neither in Native VLAN 1.
For example;
-Port g01 in VLAN 56
-Port g25 in VLAN 56
-Port g10 in VLAN 10
-Port g37 in VLAN 10
All appears to work well within the respective VLAN (i.e. DHCP, ARP, etc. no IPs from other VLANs)STP - Spanning Tree is Globally disabled.
However; when I feed a n new network (which has STP enabled) into VLAN 10; I then plug a laptop with wireshark running into VLAN 56 - cannot see any other traffic/packet...except STP packets coming from a CISCO device on VLAN 10 while I am plugged into VLAN 56.
This demonstrates to me the network is not truely seperated. I know this because last night I crossed two networks and caused havoc; ouch.I configed a D-Link switch with the same scenario and no issue.

We are trying to config vlan 10 for data and vlan 20 for voice on the same port - port 1 of swtich SF300-24P to run both data and voice on different vlans.Do I have to add vlan 10 as an untagged vlan to port 1 and add vlan 20 as an tagged vlan to port 1?If I do not want to assign the native vlan 1 to port 1, how can I remove it ? The GUI page - assign VLAN to port does not allow to remove it.Aslo, what mode shall I set up on port 1? General, trunk or access ?

I have some problem in my small network.I have 2 SF-300 48 port switches and connected to 847 router for intervlan routing. I configure 7 vlan in SW1 and uplink to SW2 with trunkport.
The problem is that if i used default gateway for users ip address of interface (vlan interface) is ok. I bring two adsl modem and connected to vlan1 and vlan2 for internet access. When i connected this two modem vlan 1 and vlan 2 are not going to access other vlan 3,4,5,6,7 and wise versa.
vlan1 users getting default gateway from adsl modem ip, how i can permit this two vlan should to access other vlan 3,4,5,6,7 and 3,4,5,6,7 should access to internet also.

We are using Catalyst 3750 with 12.2(44)SE. We have two stack configured, one with IP routing enabled. When we try to run an Acquisition Action on IP routing enabled stack, from Admin> Collection Settings> User Tracking, the system replies with an error "Failed to start acquisition: Device unreachable. Please enter a valid device". Acquisition starts successfully when we try with the other stack. We are going to investigate!

it's probably just me but I have tried real hard to get a simple AnyConnect setup working in a lab environment on my ASA 5505 at home, without luck. When I connect with the AnyConnect client I get the error message "User not authorized for AnyConnect Client access, contact your administrator". I have searched for this error and tried some of the few solutions out there, but to no avail. I also updated the ASA from 8.4.4(1) to 9.1(1) and ASDM from 6.4(9) to 7.1(1) but still the same problem.
The setup of the ASA is straight forward, directly connected to the Internet with a 10.0.1.0 / 24 subnet on the inside and an address pool of 10.0.2.0 / 24 to assign to the VPN clients. Please note that due to ISP restrictions, I'm using port 44455 instead of 443. I had AnyConnect working with the SSL portal, but IKEv2 IPsec is giving me a headache. I have stripped down certificate authentication which I had running before just to eliminate this as a potential cause of the issue. When running debugging, I do not get any error messages - the handshake completes successfully and the local authentication works fine as well.

I have installed LMS 4.0.1 again. Now LMS is running on a Windows 2008 R2, 64 bit. Using Custom Reports from Reports> Report Designer> User Tracking to create an end host report I get this error message: "The syntax is not valid: the system cannot find the path specified". Anyway, the report is created but I’m not able to edit or delete: it is not listed on Available Custom Reports.

I have a server computer running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard operating system with 4 client computers connected to the network running Windows 7 Professional operating system. All worked great yesterday. This morning, one of the client computers encountered this error:

Microsoft Windows Network: The user name could not be found.This connection has not been restored.No updates or changes have occured between yesterday and today and the three other client computers have no similar problems.Just this one client has the error.

We are having Cisco router 1002 ASR and 2841 switch. Some times perticular VLAN user will not be able to access the network but from the same switch others VLAN users can able to access. We were getting ARP entries in router but we cannot ping the IP's. Even we clear the ARP entries. Once we restart the switch users can access the network. We have changed vlan ports, uplink too. but problem not solved. and we observed CPU utilization will be going 70-80% some times and at same time switch hangs.

I have a Cisco 6509 with IOS "s222-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF16.bin"I need to enable dot1x on user's ports on the switch. each user is connected to the switch through the IP phone.
I just found out that I can not enabled dot1x on trunk port. I have tried to use "switchport voice vlan " but I got:
Switch(config-if)#switchport voice vlan 123
Command rejected: Gi7/20 is Dot1x enabled port.
let me know what should I do to get dot1x working?
Note: I have connected a laptop directly to the port and dot1x is working fine.

I have cisco switch model WS-C3750G-12S-D. It is in transparent mode. I am getting below error message when tried to create new vlan.
Proposed configuration exceeds the limit of 1005 VLANs that can be supported on this platform. Reduce the number of VLANs proposed to be within this limit.
After deleting few unnecessary vlans, it allowed me to create.

I confused with terms 'maximum supported vlans' and 'maximum locally supported vlans'. If switch is supporting vlans 1-4094 means it should also allow to create locally. Otherwise how they will pass through the switch trunks without local creation.

I recently upgraded my network to have two 3750x core, one interface on the Cisco is connecting to a Net gear switch via a fiber converter. I am keep getting the vlan flapping error message in my log as below.

I currently have 1 cat 5 jack at my tv/entertainment area and will be needing additional jacks to add gaming consoles,streaming video player and internet ready tv at the same location.The current jack installed at that location is coming from a D-Link 8 port Gigabit switch installed in a different room.The switch is at capacity,all ports are full,so no additional availability there.My question is how to expand port availability at the entertainment area.Is it possible to put another switch or hub at that connection?Would there be a conflict with cascading a switch from one to another? I have a 25 meg fiber optic incoming service,so there is plenty of speed and bandwith available to handle these componets.

When the above problem happens, as work-around, we delete VLAN.DAT file on the Compact Flash of this 2811 router and recopy the VLAN>DAT file back to teh Compact Flash.
Then it runs for a few weeks and the same problem happened.
Then we put a new Compact Flash and recopied VLAN.DAT to new CF and it ran for 3 weeks and same problem started again.
Could be 2811 router motherboard? This customer has thousands of these 2811 routers in identical setups and this is the only router that is having this problem.

In our environment we've got a Cisco ACS-Server providing Tacacs+ (mainly for access to routers/switches) and Radius (for 802.1x-validating end hosts) services.
Aside from our IOS-based switches we've got a SG200-18 acting as a workgroup switch.
I'd like to set up user authentication on the SG200 (i.e. authentication of users accessing the switch) as well as 802.1x validation of end hosts via our existing Cisco ACS 5.x.
Unfortunately the docs for the SG200 in the chapter "Configuring RADIUS Parameters" only mentions "...For the RADIUS server to grant access to the web-based switch configuration utility, the RADIUS server must return cisco-avpair = shell:priv-lvl=15.... - no examples etc.
Since the WEB-based SG200-interface is absolutely new to me I'm looking for some hints/examples on how to set up the Cisco ACS Radius Server in order to interact with the SG200.

We use a couple of 2910al ProCurves for our core switching/routing then we have a few 2626 access switches.
Despite allocating adequate ports in our new building, I'm still having a problem with users plugging in shitty little D-Link 5 port hubs at there desk.
I'm guessing I'm going to have to only allow the mac's of approved workstations? Which sounds like a management nightmare.

The SMART Designs state that both the ESW500 and 300-series switches should not be used for deployments of over 100 IP phones.But now that both the UC560 can go up to 138 (128 IP phones) and the BE3000 can go up to 300 users is this design restriction still valid or is the Catalyst 2960 and above the only options?
The QPT is still showing both the 300- and ESW500 switches as options for all versions of the UC560, and the 300- and 2960 switches are shown as valid options in the LAN for the BE3000.

We have several SG300 Series Switches (8, 20, 28 and 52-Port Versions) running. All Switches do reboot from time to time: Some after a week or so, others several times a day and then run again happily. In the log I see:
