Sep 9, 2011We recently switched from Centennial aircard to Verizon aircard (USB760) for our laptop. We have two user accounts on our windows 7 pc. With Centennial we could switch between user accounts without closing sierra wireless manager but when I switch to another user now, a message comes up saying vzaccess manager running in another account and we cannot use the internet until we have shut it down in the account it is running in - which is a pain. I have tried right clicking vzaccess manager in all programs and it does not have a share option. I also went to properties under vzaccess manager and found a setting to share and set it up but it still will not share

May 27, 2013I managed to create VLAN 30 (mgmt) and VLAN 888 (blackhole) on this SG 300 switch. Now I've configured ports 1-6 untagged on VLAN 30 and left ports 7-8 untagged in VLAN 1. Port 10 is my uplink to my router, which config looks like this:
interface gigabitethernet10
spanning-tree portfast
spanning-tree guard root
switchport trunk allowed vlan add 30
switchport trunk native vlan 888
If I connect a device into port 7 or 8, I get no IP address from the relevant DHCP server on my router. Thus, I thought I could add VLAN 1 to the trunk, but here's the surprise:

When I go to add a tenth account the interface just hangs and stops responding. I can delete a user and then add another user and this works fine. I can also add other types of VPN users.

May 14, 2011I have a Windows 2003 SP2 server with a shared folder. This folder is accessed by 2 people on a regular basis. The problem we are experiencing is when a folder is created by user A, it cannot be moved by user B (and vice versa), as it says the folder is in use.The exact error is: Error Moving File or Folder.Cannot move <filename>: Access is denied.Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.I have explicitly set full control for both users on the folder. The drive has 70GB of 500GB remaining. I have also used File Server Management to verify the files were not in use when they were being moved.The server is Windows 2003, SP2. Domain environment, with all relevant users having permissions on the folder, and the everyone account removed. Any other operation inside the shared folder works fine.

The adapter is a DLINK DWA-125 USB adapter.When logged into one of the admin accounts, internet works fine. When logged into one of the limited accounts, internet works fine.If I switch to either of the other accounts, the adapter can't get an IP address. If I switch back to one of the accounts that works, I get an IP right away.

1) I'm using a single subnet eg 192.168.1.0/24 for my wireless clients and i'm assigning them via the DHCP server from the WLC. As the clients are however made up of laptops and scanners, i would like to assign a range from 50-150 for the laptops and 151-250 for the scanners for easier identification. But it seems that from the WLC DHCP menu i'm not able to do this unless i segment them into a different network with different gateways.
2) Is there anyway to change the WLC user accounts password too? I dont seems to be able to find the option unless i delete the account and re-create it with the new password.

Jan 19, 2011Trying to install the Linksys AE1000 wireless adapter on Windows 7 x64. So I follow the instructions. insert CD. Insert adapter.The i get this error:
"Linksys Wireless-N Router requires that wireless connections are to be managed by the Microsoft Windows Wireless Connection Manager. Some laptops and computers are pre-loaded with a different wireless connection manager which prevents your Valet or Linksys Wireless-N Router installation from loading. If this is the case, then you will need to disable or turn OFF the other wireless connection manager, and enable the Microsoft Windows Wireless Connection Manager instead."
What manager? This is windows 7, I'm not using any third party wireless utility so I don't understand why I'm getting this particular error. If windows wireless connection manager is off, how do I enable it?I've always managed my network setting through the Network and sharing center,I've tried:
(1) sweeping registry files before install(2) Plugging in AE1000 first and manually installing drivers
When I did this, the device shows up successfully in device manager and the driver installs smoothly, however when I go to network adapters, the AE1000 is listed as disabled. I tried enabling it but to no avail. Running the network diagnostics claims the driver doesn't work despite the fact that it installed successfully.
After several restarts and disabling/re-installations I recieve the same error.The end goal is to connect the AE1000 to a Cisco E3000 router.

Aug 28, 2012I just got a new laptop, and for the most part have left its settings alone. Today I was trying to get some sharing going between my desktop and the laptop. Both machines are connected to the same wireless network and both machines consider that network to be a Home network. Both are running Win7 Home Premium. It seems like my laptop is aware of my desktop on the network. It can ping it by IP or by computer name. When I go to Network from the laptop, I can see the desktop in the list of computers. However, my desktop cannot ping the laptop, nor can it see it within Network. My desktop has a Homegroup set up, but my laptop says "There is currently no homegroup on the network". I do have network discovery turned on for both machines. Why can my desktop not "talk" to my laptop but it works the other way around?
Update: Disabling the Windows Firewall on the laptop somewhat fixes the problem. With it disabled, my desktop can ping my laptop, but still my laptop can't see the homegroup. Also, it can ping via hostname, which resolves to IPv6, but can't ping via the IPv4 address. Obviously I'd rather not leave my firewall disabled, so I need a more specific fix.
Update 2: Aha! It is the Cisco VPN software I was running to connect to work computers. Once I disconnected and exited from that, the two PCs seemed to be talking normally and the homegroup was visible to the laptop. So now my question has morphed: how can I prevent Cisco VPN from interrupting my home networking?

I found out how to create hotspot on laptop and tried it.Everything gone fine, network is showing up in my Ipod Touch too. But even after connecting to this network,I cannot access internet!Then I checked in Network Connections that both LAN & Wireless Connections are connected,but in Wireless Connection when checked in status the packets are sending but not receiving.This is how it shows with the command "ipconfig"....
