I have a Cisco 2811 with fa 0/0 as my bearer, and a switch module for internal clients.
I have an issue with my fa 0/0 flapping, I want to move that ip configuration to fa 0/1
as this is a branch office I am reliant on the bearer port to give me coms so changing the IP addresses is difficult.
Has any one tried this with a TCL script?
I have existing cisco 2811 (Version 12.4(3c)). I try to add a HWIC serial card into the router but the new HWIC is not detected. There is no new interfece shows up when i do show run. This HWIC is a new card just bought it.

Having 2 router with 2 sub interface configured with HSRP. The server sending the data have the route default gw xxx.xxx.xx.252 HSRP address. But on of the routers did got HW problem so we did shut it down, R2 with IP xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.251, problem so the traffic didn't go there correct when was using the HSRP address some packaged went there but not all of them no blocks in the logs. But then we did change the server direct to to the working router R1 xxxx.xxxx.253 everything did start working fine again. was working fine. Logs i got in the router was max tcp half-open connections.
I am wondering if something wrong in the configuration below and why the traffic didn't got there correct when using the HSRP address. Its working fine when using R1 IP address. The devices are 2 Cisco 2620 routers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just updated a VLAN interface on my router. I have two 6500's with GLBP configured. The particular interface had a primary and secondary IP address. I shutdown the interface on one router and deleted the secondary address then assigned the orignal secondary address to be the be the only address associated with the interface and enabled the interface and it came right back up...all looks good. I proceeded to do the same thing to the other router and once again all looked good. Now, I am able to PING the devices in the subnet from router, but am unable to ping them from any place else. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of migrating our existing server farm subnets to our new Nexus server farm and I discovered something I wasn’t expecting. My intention is to migrate our existing legacy server farm which is comprised of for paired 3750 switches off of our core 6509s and onto the Nexus and connect them to the 2232s via multi gig port-channel connections, two port channels per switch stack.
NOTE this is expected to be a temporary move as next year we intend to install additional N2Ks and move servers over to these directly. But to minimize the outage/downtime it will be better to move the subnets and switchs all at once.
These connections would be grouped 1 gig connections as port channels, one from each switch into one of the two 2232s.
Problem I discovered is Cisco does not intend to have switches connected to the Nexus and it immediately disables the ports when they see BPDUs.
I found a config that does work and it does fail over from one port-channel connection to the other but with the limitation that when the original port channel comes back online it does not fail back over to the original one, an acceptable situation for us. But I am wondering if Cisco would support this design if we did experience issues down the road.
The only issue I really see is to get it to work the config is different on the two N5Ks, see the pert config below for the connections. Both are running the same OS

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 and I have my internal and external interfaces configured but I currently cannot ping from the inside to an IP Address on the outside. I had this setup and working and I have another set of equirement that I am replacing that is working with my service provider so I know it is a configuration issue. When I ping 4.2.2.2 for example I get:

Do I need to add a static route from my inside interface to my outside interfaces?

I have four 2811 routers with IOS 12.4(15)T installed. Embedded Event Manager was introduced in IOS 12.3(4)T, why do I not have it?! I've been at this for over a month, when I try to see the command 'event manager' I get Unrecognized command? According to all EEM documentation I can find, this should work on our machines!

The CPU is remaining around 60% and the router throughput is reaching at most 18 MB while according to the data sheet the 2811 maximum throughput is 61MB. I have checked the output interpreter in order to try and figure out the cause of the high CPU and to determine if it is affecting throughput but there are not processes consuming more than 10%. I have attached the show tech-support and the show process cpu history outputs.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI currently have a 2811 and a LAN setup via a sub-interface FA0/1.3 and using a HWIC-AP I have a sub-interface dot11radio 0/1.5. I have them setup to work and surf the inet great, but I have recently been overly annoyed with the fact that the wifi cannot access windows shares on desktops and visa versa with the laptops.
The trick to make this happen is currently they are not on the same subnet. I know the answer is bridging the interfaces but when I do this using the simple commands:
bridge 1 protocol ieee
interface x & y
bridge-group 1
Although what should be simple has failed (good thing I tftp'd my working config). Here is my current configuration.

I want to know that the timer for mac address is 5 minutes and arp timeout is 4 hours . Is there any way to find out the mac address of the server . I feel like this can we done with cef ? Is it true or not I am not sure. I am running 3750 stacks and 2811 routers. 3750 stacks are working as layer 3 devices. They are also running the pretty new IOS 12.2(53)SE.
According to my understanding now a days CEF entry does not expire if we are not using them. They remain in cache as we are running with destination base CEF.

I'm seeing on an IOS VPN Tunnel interface which keeps going down and then back up...
We have a Cisco 2811 acting as a VPN Hub router on the backbone, which connects to various client sites over VPN. Of the 7 VPNs configured so 6 work well and are generally trouble free. The VPN interface on the other VPN keeps going down ,multiple times throughout the day, just recently the client has been noticing loss of connectivity. The remote router is managed over the VPN so there is always some kind of traffic over it.

I have a Cisco 2811 Router. I have two VLANS on the router. The first one of course is VLAN 1 and the second one is one that I created from reading everything from this forum.. it is called VLAN 531
On VLAN one I have an IP address of 10.8.1.1 and on VLAN 531 I have an IP Address of 172.16.1.1, now what I can do is this... I can.. from a workstation on the 10.8.0.0 segment, ping 172.16.1.1 and one server on that segment that has an IP address of 172.16.1.50, which is fine, but what I really want to be able to do is ping our email server which is on a 10.21.0.0 segment and I cannot. Any commands on what I would need to do to make this work as I would like the 172.16.0.0 segment to ping any other part of my LAN of my choosing.
