I have a Cisco 2811 Router with a NM-16ESW card installed. I've connected this to my DSL connecting and I'm trying to build myself a learning lab. From the router I can ping to the internet and back to a test computer I have connected to one of the card's ethernet ports. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco 2811 Router. I have two VLANS on the router. The first one of course is VLAN 1 and the second one is one that I created from reading everything from this forum.. it is called VLAN 531
On VLAN one I have an IP address of 10.8.1.1 and on VLAN 531 I have an IP Address of 172.16.1.1, now what I can do is this... I can.. from a workstation on the 10.8.0.0 segment, ping 172.16.1.1 and one server on that segment that has an IP address of 172.16.1.50, which is fine, but what I really want to be able to do is ping our email server which is on a 10.21.0.0 segment and I cannot. Any commands on what I would need to do to make this work as I would like the 172.16.0.0 segment to ping any other part of my LAN of my choosing.

I have a switch 2960 with 15 multicast groups (for video) and now I am configuring a router 2811 to send two multicast groups to another network.But despite of there is no client sending join yet, the router is joinning in all multicast group, and because of that the router are not standing all the traffic. why the router is joinning in all multicast groups?How could I choose what groups router will join?

I upgraded a 2811 router to the latest version and apparently everything went smooth. I reloaded and did a sh ver the IOS show the correct version, but the boot strap shows the old IOS. How can I change the boot strap to show the new IOS.

Along with that we have two Catalyst 5509. We are upgrading the access layer by replacing catalyst switches with Nexus 5548 & 2248.
For a purpose of testing I have connected 5548 & 2248. Created cPC and ether channels between two. SVI and HSRP configuredon 5548. I am terminating 2651 (test router) on 2248 port 101/1/1. On 5548 I have enabled EIGRP on vlans. I am unable to ping to 2651 from nexus switch 5548 and vice-versa. I can see both devices on CDP but I do not see eigrp neighborship formed.
What configuration should go in 2248 and 2651 in order to establish a connection between two? If test is successful then I will connect 2811 to 2248 during actual migration. I assume that in testing if it works for 2651 then it must work on 2811 router.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have att dsl and they supplied me with a modem, a motorola model type 2210, and my belkin surf N300 router is giving me issues connecting to the internet. Im pretty sure my wireless network adapter is a netgear wg311v3.The issue im having is that sometimes i can connect to the internet just fine, and sometimes i cant connect to the internet. I know it is a router issue because when i plug the modem into my comp, i can access the internet 100% fine.I also think it is not a wireless network adapter issue because i ran an ethernet cable from the router to my comp and had the same issues. There are 2 other computers on the network, one of them is a year or two newer than my dell desktop, and has no issues whatsoever connecting to the internet via the router. The other computer on the network is a Wii, and has connection issues when playing online (probly a different issue), but can access the internet no problem.

VLAN 182 has been created at this point and in this SW L3 has configured an interface vlan 182 with an IP 10.0.82.1/28.
To this Switch L3 is connected another switch L2 with an interface vlan 182 with an IP 10.0.82.2/28. Finally I have the last switch with the same features of configuration just that this has an IP 10.0.82.3/28. In this last switch is connected the router in the Gi1/0/24 as Switch port access, this port belongs to VLAN 182. At the router, the port is gi0/0 and it has an IP 10.0.82.4/28 and is UP.
The Switch where the router is connected is reachable from this router but not by the other switches. Router can reach all the network but not in the reverse way.Router has configured an ip default gateway 10.0.82.1.
I have four 2811 routers with IOS 12.4(15)T installed. Embedded Event Manager was introduced in IOS 12.3(4)T, why do I not have it?! I've been at this for over a month, when I try to see the command 'event manager' I get Unrecognized command? According to all EEM documentation I can find, this should work on our machines!

The CPU is remaining around 60% and the router throughput is reaching at most 18 MB while according to the data sheet the 2811 maximum throughput is 61MB. I have checked the output interpreter in order to try and figure out the cause of the high CPU and to determine if it is affecting throughput but there are not processes consuming more than 10%. I have attached the show tech-support and the show process cpu history outputs.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI currently have a 2811 and a LAN setup via a sub-interface FA0/1.3 and using a HWIC-AP I have a sub-interface dot11radio 0/1.5. I have them setup to work and surf the inet great, but I have recently been overly annoyed with the fact that the wifi cannot access windows shares on desktops and visa versa with the laptops.
The trick to make this happen is currently they are not on the same subnet. I know the answer is bridging the interfaces but when I do this using the simple commands:
bridge 1 protocol ieee
interface x & y
bridge-group 1
Although what should be simple has failed (good thing I tftp'd my working config). Here is my current configuration.

I want to know that the timer for mac address is 5 minutes and arp timeout is 4 hours . Is there any way to find out the mac address of the server . I feel like this can we done with cef ? Is it true or not I am not sure. I am running 3750 stacks and 2811 routers. 3750 stacks are working as layer 3 devices. They are also running the pretty new IOS 12.2(53)SE.

I have two Catalyst 2960 Series (48 port) switches with the newest Cisco IOS installed. There is also a Cisco 2600 Series Router which I can't manage because it's ISP managed.
Now the problem is as follows. I'd like to create two VLANs, one in the IP range 192.168.0.xxx and the other in the 192.168.1.xxx. Now the router has a gateway IP address 192.168.1.1 .
Would it be possible to somehow connect these two VLANs with the router so that these 2 VLANs can't see each other but they can ofcourse both contact the router and exit on the internet?
