i have 2811 router and i am coneccted via concole so i want to copy the 2811 ios to my PC is that possible?
how or give my the right decument to do this.

I'm trying to connect a Cisco 2811 using an octal cable to a Juniper MX480 console port.Since the distance between Cisco 2811 and router is 20ft, im using couplers and a straight-through cable for the lack of slack. This wiring doesnt work, however in another city it works going straight from the Cisco 2811 octal cable to the router since they are in the same rack.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems I have seen this before (and even done it once a few years ago).. but it has been a while. I have a stack with a Cisco 3750 stack that I have to replace a member.The replacement switch is a 3750X.
I think I have to upgrade the IOS of the older switch to be the same as the 3750X.
Current switch: WS-C3750G-48TS 12.2(46)SE
TO BE ADDED WS-c3570X-48 15.0 (1)SE2
It seems to me there was a way to upgrade the older switch IOS from the newer switch or downgrade the newer switch with the older IOS.I dont have the Cisco account to download updated IOSs.
I am trying to configure redundancy with SSO and I need to get the same IOS on both supervisors. My issue is that I get an error when I try to copy the IOS from either the sup-bootdisk or the disk0 to the slavesupbootdisk. The Error is Invalid argument.
I have tried also to tftp to the slavesupbootdisk and get the same result.
I want to copy a file from one ASR1001 and copy it to another. I ntried using tftp 32 but this is not going to work as the image is 315 MB.

The problem is the switches interface never comes up so try to connect to the tftp server. I read on google it can't be done on a switch to copy from tftp to flash in rommon mode on a switch and to use XMODEM. My problem is I do not have access to it, I ssh into a 3640 which is an access server for all devices and that is how I have console to it, how to use XMODEM over ssh.
But I'm fairly certain that there has to be a way to just copy it from tftp? I have a 3550 local and when I put it in rommon mode it stops the port check at port, port 1 goes from green when you plug it in to off then port 2 changes to amber and the rest green. So just by the look of this I would believe tftp would work; you just need to use port 1.

I am trying to configure a switch that was given to me. They don't know the password to anything. I have already tried to recover it. The problem is, the switch doesn't load flash, or will copy flash from xmodem either. It also doesnt load the helper or boot. It is user mode and lets me do nothing. It doesnt let me use the enable command to get into it. I would like to start the config from scratch. Its a 3500xl switch, 24 ports. I dont know what to do with it. I am trying to study for my CCENT Exam and would like a switch that worked.

I was thinking of getting another 870 series (probably an 877) router, as the more expensive wireless option is not actually required. This means that i need to backup the cureent (old) ios to my tftp server but the command keeps failing. It always gives 'No such file or directory' error .The free space on the flash is 8mb and my new ios is about 11mb.I also went inside the directory where the old is and inputed the same copy command but to no avail.Below are some of the command failure on the swicth:

i have major problem with two new Small Business 300 Series switches.Everytime i try to save the running config i get a GUI error message: "Another copy process is active, please try again later."It's also not possible to re-flash the firmware because the GUI stops responding.I have also tried to do this via console access and this produces a "the copy utility is occupied by another user" error message.-> so this is not a browser based problem.My first thought was that the switch (SG 300-28) is faulty so i unpacked the next new one (SF 300)and got the same error messages!Then i had a 2 hour webex support session with the Cisco Small Business Support and they did not found a reason for this behavior.Both switches are working normally, you can configure them, but after a reboot they are back to factory default again There is no possibilty for copy running config to startup config and it's also not possible to flash the firmware.(Web GUI & Console). tell me if this is a fundamental problem of the 300 Series?
View 6 Replies View RelatedTwo computers (XP and Win7) connected on office LAN, cisco 2960, not same switches, but all in the same rack, and link togeter, same IP subnet, tried to copy some kind of 26G files from one to another, using Windows share folders, and it showed need 23 hours to finish the copying.It's not the first time, actually we always experienced very slow speed when copying files on Windows share folders. Did not see any particualler message on the switch. ports are all full/100m.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 6513 with redundant sup 720-3B's that I cannot get onto. In short, one of the power supplies failed, it still passes traffic but I can't console or ssh to the box. Other than the two sup 720's, I have a 4 port 10gig card, a 16 port GBIC Card and an IDS module. I have tried removing the 10Gig, IDS and one of the sup's but still don't get anything on the console. I have rebooted the entire chassis and don't get anything on my console while booting. I have tried changing the speed of my terminal to every setting available incase someone has changed it at some stage but to no avail. I have tried swapping sup's, using only one at a time in the chassis but not getting anything. Is there anything else I can try to get onto this chassis? The power supply is a 3000w with a 32amp input. The failed power supply had tripped a switch, when i brought it back up, the power supply came out but the output failed LED is on. My #questions are, is there anything else I can do to try get onto the console, and is the power supply goosed when the RED LED is lit? I have reseated the power supply also but the same result.

However when I open my terminal application (tera term) After I select the right com port (3) and make sure the connection settings are right. It will just sit idle and not show any data from the device. Was I sold a faulty device? It lights up and has three lights on.
Everytime I look at a manual or cisco video I am given the impression the terminal application will just automatically connect. But whenever I try I get nothing.

When I power the device up all the front panel lights come on like normail, and then the system light starts flashing like normal, but after 5 - 6 seconds the system light goes off. Much to my dismay, I have been able to get http and https enabled, and then authenticating locally for the HTTP access. I then come to the screen once authenticated which is shown below:
The issue is that when I select "Web Console", it gives me a "Web Page Cannot be found".
I have 2 3750-x members in a stack running 12.2(58)SE2. I am able to console into the stack master, which happens to be the top switch, but not able to console into the 2nd member. I get the screen stating the console is available but never get the prompt to login. Is this expected behavior?On our stacks of 3750v2's, I'm able to console to any switch in the stack?

today I received a Cisco 1841 Router with a problem i have never seen before. Maybe this my 1st really,really broken Cisco Router. When I power the Router on, the fan and all lights turn on (green) and that's it. Nothing changes, also after minutes of wating. On console i don't get any messages and I already tried every BAUD rate possible. Switched the router off/on again and again. And no, it's obviously not a console problem of my computer, because i tried with different routers.
