I am using multiple cisco 2811, 3745 routers and 2950,3550 switches if I need to copy running configuration I have to go to each device and say copy run tftp: <address> Is here any way that automatically by schedule one a week or a month configuration copy from all devices to tftp server?
I have a 3550 switch that I am trying to upgrade the IOS on.I am trying to copy to a TFTP server.I am receiving a socket error.I saw that this can be fixed with
Switch#config t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. Switch(config)#no service config Switch(config)#exit Switch# 00:13:47: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by console Switch#reload
I have done this 3 times to no avail. My TFTPd32 server on my pc is working fine. Here is the error
Switch#sh flas Directory of flash:/ 2 -rwx 556 Mar 1 1993 00:33:53 +00:00 vlan.dat 4 -rwx 3775 Mar 1 1993 00:37:54 +00:00 config.text 5 -rwx 24 Mar 1 1993 00:37:54 +00:00 private-config.text 6 -rwx 5687963 Mar 16 2007 01:05:23 +00:00 c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-25.SEB4.bin 8 drwx 192 Mar 1 1993 00:04:40 +00:00 c3550-i9q3l2-mz.121-22.EA1a
I am using TFTPD32 to upgrade the IOS on a router. When I type in the commands copy tftp flash and enter all the necessary information, the router sits for a minute or so and then times out. There is no entry made in the log when it times out. copy flash tftp yields the same result. The fa 0/0 interface and the TFTP server are both on the same subnet and can successfully ping one anothe
I have a really stupid problem with my RV042. The main logon password has expired but it will not let me change it at all. Basically I try to login but get the error 'The old password has expired. Please change the password'. But with no prompt at all for a new password and just a return to the login page. Tried various different browsers, tried the old default password but nothing will work. There seems to be no way of changing it and I cannot login.Am I missing something glaringly obvious? I really don't want to reset it to default as I have numerous VPN tunnels configured and various other settings.
I was trying to upgrade from 8.3.1 to 8.3.2. but I am unable to copy via tftp to the ASA flash or disk0:
ASA5520# copy tftp: flash: Address or name of remote host []? 10.88.127.153 Source filename []? asa831-k8.bin Destination filename [asa831-k8.bin]?
[code]....
Half way thru writing to the disk, it goes for a reboot. There is more than enought space on the disk0. I tried copying via a Compact Flash, but the ASA is not detecting the Compact Flash (which I thinks should be disk1). I tried copying a asdm file, even that also went for a reboot.I am stuck now, unable to upgrade

I have a 2801 running c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-3g.bin According to the Cisco IOS MIB locator the image supports OLD-CISCO-SYSTEM-MIB I have tried .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.55 etc to set server IP address and the filename string but without any luck.e.g.
Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB. Failed object: iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.55.a.b.c.d (where a.b.c.d is the server IP)
I have also tried the method similar to that for Cat 3550 switches where you create a table of entries to define the transfer paramaters then activate the transfer (I think the CISCO-CONFIG-COPY-MIB)
Clean up at the end - destroy .14 with the value of 6.
example output : - -- earlier output omitted -- Error in packet. Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB. Failed object: iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.96.1.1.1.1.4.111 Error in packet.
I have a cisco 3750 swicth which i want to load a new ios to but unfortunately there's no enough space on the flash. This means that i need to backup the cureent (old) ios to my tftp server but the command keeps failing. It always gives 'No such file or directory' error .The free space on the flash is 8mb and my new ios is about 11mb.I also went inside the directory where the old is and inputed the same copy command but to no avail.Below are some of the command failure on the swicth:
I recently posted this same issue the other day, using TFTPd32. Now i am pretty close to fixing it. I do have a different setup; my pc ethernet port is broken so I am using an ethernet/usb adapter. I am attempting to backup my IOS from a 3550 switch to my PC.
I'm trying to upgrade my 2950G-24-EI via tftp but it looks like the sw can't transfer any of the files completely or with errors. I downloaded the BIN+TAR files from Cisco (and from another site) matching my Catalyst and opened an TFTP server on my PC. The files are :
I intend to deploy a voice+data network using some old 3745 and 2811. The network in effect has six 3745 in a hybrid topology at different locations and each having three WIC-2T, one WIC-4T, three NMHDV-2E1. That's pretty much juicing out the maximum from these routers These will serve as my core routers and for access I will be using my 2811s with more VWICs and lesser WIC-2T to give voice and data to subscribers. The 2811s will have links to multiple 3745s. The NMHDV-2E1 will serve for the voice needs at the 3745 locations. All the WAN links will be E1. All my telephones will be on analog voice using traditional EPABX with CEPT/ PRI E1 cards for connecting to the routers. And for data, ethernet ports. Two of the routers will have E1 links to the PSTN and Internet which has to be extended to all my folks. Now, for the tricky part, all my network modules are refurbished stuff from ebay and all the ports will have links on them. I intend to use OSPF with only the backbone area.
I have a 3550 switch that was replaced at a remote site with no IOS. This is a switch not a router so tftpdnld does not work.
[Code]...
The problem is the switches interface never comes up so try to connect to the tftp server. I read on google it can't be done on a switch to copy from tftp to flash in rommon mode on a switch and to use XMODEM. My problem is I do not have access to it, I ssh into a 3640 which is an access server for all devices and that is how I have console to it, how to use XMODEM over ssh.
But I'm fairly certain that there has to be a way to just copy it from tftp? I have a 3550 local and when I put it in rommon mode it stops the port check at port, port 1 goes from green when you plug it in to off then port 2 changes to amber and the rest green. So just by the look of this I would believe tftp would work; you just need to use port 1.
I want upgrade IOS on my 7206VXR from 12.4(12c) to 15.1(4)M5 , but the CF card only 64M.
-NAME: "disk2", DESCR: "64MB Compact Flash Disk for NPE-G1" -Router#show bootvar
BOOT variable = disk2:c7200-jk9s-mz.124-12c.bin,15.1(4)M5 is almost 40M. So there is not enough space.I want to ask is it ok if I upgrade with normal precedure , With the command " copy tftp: disk2: " ?Does the router will automatically delete the older IOS first and then copy into the new one ? Or Is there something I should pay attention first ?
We have a core switch Catalyst 3550-24-PWR Connected are 2 Catalyst 2960 PoE-24 and one Catalyst 2950-24
3550 together 2960 works well 2960 together 2950 works well 3550 connected with 2950 refuse to establish connection. Port goes down immediately.
Example 3550 Fe0/19+Fe0/20 -> 2960 G0/1+G0/2 status OK 3550 Fe0/21+Fe0/22 -> 2960 G0/1+G0/2 status OK 2960 Fe0/12 -> 2950 Fe0/24 status OK 3550 Fe0/8 -> 2950 Fe0/24 status down
Facing a unique problem in my cisco Router (2811) .. Router is well configured but suddenly it stops working , when logged in using console the configuration register is observed to be 0x2142.
How does it automatically changes register value during operation?
One of my clients has an older 3745 running IOS 12.3 and we are looking at replacing it with a new 3945 that runs IOS 15.0. This router is also configured with CME. Is it possible to migrate the current 12.3 config to load on the new 15.0 IOS? This will be my first encounter with 15.0 so I don't know what I am up against at this time. I am just hoping I don't have to retype all the ephone config, dial-peers, etc
I just got my PIX515e configured and thought I had it working correctly, but on my 3745 router, the line protocol is down, I've looked through the configs for bot the PIX and the 3745 and can't seem to figure out why I don't have access.
Pix515E config: pixfirewall# show run : Saved : PIX Version 8.0(4)32 ! hostname pixfirewall domain-name home.jkkcc.com enable password 8Ry2YjIyt7RRXU24 encrypted passwd 2KFQnbNIdI.2KYOU encrypted names
Have a client wanting to hand out public ip addresses to all clients from a PFSense Firewall terminating the internet connection.
How do I allow the Cisco Switches currently in place, configured with private ip addresses in the 10.10.x.x ranges and Vlans, where the main 3550 layer 3 has defined dhcp scopes for each vlan, to relay dhcp requests from all vlans to the PFSense firewall?
I assume I would take off the currently defined dhcp scopes for the vlans and configure each vlan/switch with the ip helper address and specify the PFSense firewall and that Nat would have to be disabled onthe firewall?
I have WLC 5508 in my office and i am asked to backup file configuration from WLC but when i remote WLC to get the upload configuration file via tftp it doesn't work.
But when I try to use direct connection ( point to point ) with WLC and my laptop i can get the upload configuration file. is there something wrong, actually i have connected with that WLC i can ping and telnet that device
When I try to import configuration from the controller 4400 to my WCS it gives the following message:
Status Refresh succeeded but some records were dropped because their key fields failed validations.
When i see the config in the WCS, all of my light access points are not on it. I check for the logs and this is What I get: (its a lot of info, so I am putting an example!)
I set up one AP-1041 that runs standalone IOS. No controller. I have three more that I want to copy the setup configuration over to. I have the right document, but which commands will get my set configuration from AP one FTP'd to my computer and how to copy that configuration back to another AP of the same model. This way I will only need to tweak a couple settings on the additional AP's instead of starting from scratch.
We were having a discussion in my group about startup vs running configs, and how often some network managers forget to "click save" when they configure a switch. Is there a way to configure Ciscoworks to copy the running config to the startup?
I don't know how to copy / paste the ip config so I ss'd it:(url) internet provider is RCN, I have AVG and Malwarebytes installed, I've tried disabling them both and didn't fix it! Anyways my internet was working fine, until one day it just suddenly stopped working. We have multiple computers hooked up to the network (5) and all work except mine. This same problem happened to my sister's computer, she has almost the same model as mine. We fixed it by switching it to wireless, but I was wondering if there was any way around that. It's a HP Pavilion. The box thingie lights up green and everything. I can access the other computers through the network, it's just the internet that won't work.
I have an 877W router that I would like to have a 2nd pre-configured backup for. I was thinking of getting another 870 series (probably an 877) router, as the more expensive wireless option is not actually required. Am I right to assume that I could simply copy the contents of my current config.txt file onto the second router?
I have ASA config with DHCP and its providing IP to users. ASA is connected to 3550 switch it has direct connection or say default static route. From 3550 switch connection goes to Router and it does the NAT and has connection to outside world.
My question is do i need to configure the NAT inside and global (outside ) on the ASA or not? As per my understanding NAT is done by router which has connection to ISP.
We have a customer who has a network consisting of two ISPs, one as a primary and the other as a backup. The customer would like us to use HSRP for the failover. The problem is the customer wants the configuration done with the two ISP routers connected to a 3550. He is under the impression that it can be done this way. ISP 1 []--------[_]3550------[] ISP2. From my understanding of HSRP can only be done with Cisco router and not ISP routers.
