Facing a unique problem in my cisco Router (2811) .. Router is well configured but suddenly it stops working , when logged in using console the configuration register is observed to be 0x2142.
How does it automatically changes register value during operation?
We have a few remote sites that connect back to HQ with T1 & DMVPN (Cable/DSL) for data. Our CM Publisher/Subscriber reside in HQ. We recently installed FXS cards in these routers to provide Fax functionality to our remote sites since we will be removing some POTS lines.
Can we register the 2811 as a voice gateway (I am thinking MGCP as with VG224's we have in production) and have it handle faxes with FXS card as well as route data or will we need a separate device for this?
I have Cisco 2811 Router and few days ago my router doesn't work correctly. I checked config and found config-register was changed (0xC502).

Configuration register is 0xC502. What is the meaning of this config-register (0xC502) and how can be changed config ?
I am using multiple cisco 2811, 3745 routers and 2950,3550 switches if I need to copy running configuration I have to go to each device and say copy run tftp: <address> Is here any way that automatically by schedule one a week or a month configuration copy from all devices to tftp server?

1. I need enter the internet static ip address 61.10.xx.xx/subnet mask/gateway/dns provided by my ISP.

I Have a problem I'm trying to configure automatically my switch over ther DHCP when I start the switch it request an IP from the DHCP from here everythings is fine but it does nothing more,indeed I put on my dhcp the option 66 and 67 which is an adress of my TFTP server and a file to download and the switch seems not to understand theses options , I tried my dhcp with a cisco airport and everythings works fine the File from the TFTP is automatically downloaded into the airport...There is an option to add or am I missing something in order to make it work with my switch ?

I have created a DHCP pool but i am unable to configure the FastEthernet ports to hand out address automatically, the pool is called USERS with range 192.168.1.30 -> 192.168.1.253.How do I work out the client-identifier for a DHCP client, I don't want to plug this into the network and manual reconnect all the PC's just to get the ID then make a static route.

my office already has a leased line to the building so don't want to pay for a DSL and BT phone line.
Can i configure my 2811 to act as a DSL server so that I can plug the clients ADSL modem into my router and let it think that it has a valid DSL connection.

How is that possible? in my understand the EzVPN server will inject the the IKE (phase 1) and IPSec (Phase 2) parameters for the client and that's they dont need to negotiate nothing, is important to say that the EzVPN client is an ASA5505 with onlu DES encryption enabled, 3DES and AES are not available due to licensing reasons.

I've been collecting information on principles of SHDSL connection. I have found plenty of examples on how to configure only one SHDSL link. Very soon I'm going to the site to install two independent SHDSL links in Cisco 2811 which has one Cisco HWIC-2SHDSL module, so I can route one type of traffic through one connection and another type of traffic through another. Both SHDLS links have static IP addresses and probably different VPI/VCI values. how to install two SHDSL links into one HWIC-2SHDSL module, set one value for VPI/VCI on one link and another value for VPI/VCI on another link, also set one IP address on one link and another IP adddress on another link?

I'm having troubles with a cisco 877 router, it keeps changing itself to either 0x2101 which is good, or to 0x3100 which is bad because it messes up my bautrate to 1200 instead of 9600.it doesn't seem to matter if I change it, it will still tell me that it will change at next reload. [code]
I have never seen this before.the command in conf t : configuration-register 0x2101 is not working, played with wr mem or copy start run neither of one useful.
Whenever I go to sites like godaddy.com or mydomain.com to register a personal domain, they only offer me sites like url...What can I do? Computers have lots of memory but no imagination..

- 2 x XP (on which i installed Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.3.0)
- 1 x Ubuntu (running GNS3 with a c3600 Router)
The problem is that the phone which is not in the same LAN with the tftp server cannot register.
1) Can a phone register to a tftp server from another LAN ?
2) If the answer for 1) is yes, what am i doing wrong (you can see the details in the attachments)? I mention that the ping works well anywhere in the LAN.
I am having two 6509E working in VSS and both are working fine. But the configuration register of command "remote command switch show boot" is 0x8000 which is different from that of RP (0x2102) .Now i want to change the value of configuration regsiter of SP to 0x2102.

I have just upgraded one of our 4400 to 7.0.98.0. Most of the AP re-registered with out issues. I have two AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 on a remote site that will not re-register.I have pointed them to another 2125 WLC (7.0.98.0) and they register fine. I have cisco WLC 5508 on the HQ, now I have another site in different subnet I tried to put AP on it and configure a DHCP pool with option 43 but the AP failed to register the WLC on the HQ.

I succeeded to register WLC5508 by using IP address of Service Port on the CAM Web Console. But WLC5508 has only one Service Port, which has no redundant port. I want to register it by usin Management Interface, which has backup port. It is also desirable to implement redundancy of Service Port if possible.
