I have Cisco 2811 Router and few days ago my router doesn't work correctly. I checked config and found config-register was changed (0xC502).

I have tried the config-register command and it is not available. Here is part of the show ver command. I want to change the config-reg from 0xF to 0x2102.I have run into this before but don't remember how to correct it.....I think I have to use the boot command but not sure. I get stuck in one case. One of my customer has two FTTH lines. I have to config PPPoE in routers. In one line I config succesfully, but one line never up. I call to ISP they ask me to config extactly VLAN id 10 in the physical subinterface. But in subinterface there is no command "pppoe-client dial-pool-number". I check the old modem FTTH, they also config VLAN 10 in Wan interface. I tell ISP why we have the same two FTTHs, but two differrent config ways. ISP says because the two line run in two different infrastructure, two different devices. I don't know how to do now? stay in customer side or ISP side. Here is my PPPoE config:

We have a few remote sites that connect back to HQ with T1 & DMVPN (Cable/DSL) for data. Our CM Publisher/Subscriber reside in HQ. We recently installed FXS cards in these routers to provide Fax functionality to our remote sites since we will be removing some POTS lines.
Can we register the 2811 as a voice gateway (I am thinking MGCP as with VG224's we have in production) and have it handle faxes with FXS card as well as route data or will we need a separate device for this?

I X modem an IOS file to my 2620 router and in the process set the console bps to 115200 which changed the register to 0x3922. Now when I try to connect from the console with any bps, I get garbage!
I can connect from the AUX port and get to the User Exec. mode but since no privileged password is set, I can't get any further to change the config register back to 0x2102.

I have a Cisco 831 router (c831-k9o3y6-mz.124-5c.bin) that cannot backup the config to a local tftp server. I have seen this behavior on a few different Cisco devices over the years and have never found a solution. The connection is made to the tftp server (in this case tftpd but similar behavior on any tftp server) and a blank file is created on the target machine file system, but the data is never transferred.
The router shows %Error opening tftp://192.168.0.2/router-confg (Timed out) [Failed]
The tftpd log shows 5 repeated attempts at the file write.

I would like to set up a POTS Dial connection between 2 Cisco routers, using the modem card WIC-1AM-V2. I'd like to use this as an out-of-band connection to a remote site, if the primary internet connection fails. So, this setup will only be used in one direction, 1 router placing calls, the other one receiving calls.Here's my config of the receiving router:

This config is working fine, when dialing in via a Windows Hyperterminal Dial connection. After a while of dialing I get the login prompt of the router.Now I want to have a router placing calls instead of a Windows Server. I can't figure out how to tell a router to place calls to a POTS phone number.

There is one router ( SWR54BGA ), wan interface functional ( connected as a dhcp client to the lan interface of another router , packets are forwarded). When i connect the wan interface to the isp line, and provide the pppoe login details ,it won't work. When i try to connect manually to the pppoe server from the wan configuration page, after about 30 sec i get the connection failed message.Is the firmware corrupt, should i go the ddwrt route?

I am having problems with my RV042.I have a Intervoip(url...) account for VOIP.
When I try to register the intervoip account to the internet I don't get any kind of reply. My VOIP server just keeps requesting to register the SIP account, but gets no reply.
When I connect an other router to my ISP modem, the register just goes fine. However the RV042 blocks something I don't really know what the cause could be.I installed wireshark to monitor my network traffic.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with the RV042, I see requests but no replies from intervoip, the VOIP server keeps requesting, but doesn't get any reply.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with an other router, I see requests from the VOIP server, and replies from intervoip initiating my intervoip account and everything goes well and registers. The following I tried:
- Forwarding port 5060 to private ip
- Putting private ip in DMZ
- Disabled the firewall
All without result. (Also tried them all at once)

I have a task for a config I have not done before. I'm replacing an older 831 and PIX with a Cisco 881 router with Firewall feature set. The router receives its public IP address dynamically and there is a static public IP range also assigned with a couple of NAT statements on the PIX for a few public IP's.I'm ok with the core router config but the range is where I'm a little stuck. Current setup is as follows
Internet ---------- Router( Public intf Dynamic IP----internal intf Range IP)Router-------------PIX (outside intf Range IP---------Inside intf private net)Pix-------
As per the aboive the PIX had a public IP address from the range on the outside interface with a default route to the Router inside interface which uses a public range addres.
With my proposed config I've setup the outside interface as dynamic and just created my nat statements for the Range IP's. I believe I'm correct that I do not need to actually have a Range IP address configured on the router?

Had no problem getting into IOS via Terminal and changing the host name, username and password. Then I loaded the Cisco CP Express onto a system and got into the web config. Problem is....the default IP is 10.10.10.1 / 255.255.255.248 and I wanted to change it to 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0 I did it in the web interface and it applied to the router, but after that I could never bring up the web interface again on 192.168.1.1. Checking IOS showed that the new 192.168.1.1 did indeed "take". I even added an access list for the 192.168.1.0 network.

Basically all I want to do is login to my routers config page so that I can forward ports. I was able to this a few weeks ago but recently I have received this error. Failed to connect
Things that I have already tried:
- Tries using 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, http://192.168.1.1 and all kind of variations.
- Tried with different browsers.
- Tried with seperate computer with different OS's (Mac and PC)
- Unable to flush dns because I get this error: CMD prompt error message .
- Have factory reset router a few times now.
- Unplugged, left off for 20mins-2hours.

I'm having troubles with a cisco 877 router, it keeps changing itself to either 0x2101 which is good, or to 0x3100 which is bad because it messes up my bautrate to 1200 instead of 9600.it doesn't seem to matter if I change it, it will still tell me that it will change at next reload. [code]
I have never seen this before.the command in conf t : configuration-register 0x2101 is not working, played with wr mem or copy start run neither of one useful.

I have a 1941 integrated services router that will not keep the configs. After several atempts of saving running config to the startup config, then rebooting the device. I am having to reload the configs manually from TFTP because they are gone. I have also tryed the "wr" command to see. Is there a proper way to shutdown this particular type of router?

I have recently made a WAN change from T1 to fiber and my Cisco 2600 series router no longer needs to connect over the Serial T1 card. The Serial connection also provided a few voice channels for the old phone system that are no longer needed. I need to keep Main Cisco 2600 router in place because I have many network devices that use it as the gateway instead of my firewall. I will not require the second subnet for Offsite Cisco 2600 anymore either. commands that will be required to remove all instances of the Serial connection and Offsite Cisco 2600. I posted before about my problem in forwarding certain ports in a LAN-to-WAN cascaded router setup, and I finally gave up looking for a solution, and went for a LAN-to-LAN. On the internet there is many articles to be found on how to accomplish the setup, but none of them is complete, and as such, I think I really screwed up someplace. My setup: ISP modem/router (192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0) DHCP enabled, and DHCP address range 3-100 NAT configured Static IP address for a Synology NAS connected to the E4200 SSID id_1
Then the E4200 Internet connection type: I set to Static IP IP 192.168.1.2 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 0.0.0.0 (to disable the WAN)
Then, the network setup: Router IP: 192.168.1.2 gave me the error that WAN and LAN IPs were identical. I played around quite some time but always got an “illegal value” error. Then finally I put the IP to 192.168.0.1 (IP I had in LAN-to-WAN) and this was accepted. And subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 The SSID I left unchanged from what it was, id_2 (also gives me the advantage that I know to which router I am connected)
I rebooted the E4200, and I was connected. But … I am unable to connect to the E4200 configuration page, and even Cisco Connect cannot establish the connection.

i have installed TL-MR3220 after my livebox (orange french box), my MR3220 is configurer on the DMZ zone in the livebox, internet is ok on the pc but when adsl signal is down on the livebox, the MR3220 don't switch to 3G connexion. The wan led is alway on in the router. But if i unplug the wn cable, the router switch on the 3G connexion. If i plug the wan cable the router kill 3G and use wan connexion.
How can i config my WAN config on the router for automatic switch by the router. Actually, the WAN config is fixed address (DMZ address in the livebox) Whis PPPOE id, the router can't connect. The livebox modem can't work on briddge.
