May 10, 2013Does GLC-GE-100FX is supported on the WS-C2960S-24TD-L. I don't see this switch listed under the compatibility matrix.URL
But the datasheet for the 2960S says this:
"The Cisco Catalyst 2960-S with SFP+ does not support the GLC-FE-100BX, GLC-FE-100FX, or GLC-FE-100LX." But it provides no reference for the GLC-GE-100FX The easy answer is, no the 2960S-24TD doesn't support it, any clarification if possible.

All I want to do is to mark all trafic on vlan 3 let's say for this example with dscp af31.
All outgoing trafic to be marked with DSCP AF31.
In pratice If I have 2 laptops connected to access ports on vlan 3. When one laptop pings the other I want to see on the receiving end when I run wireshark the traffic to come marked with DSCP AF31.

May 21, 2012i have an OM1 MMF fiber run between two switches, the first being a 3750 and the second being a 3550.
The link currently exceeds the maximum distance for OM1 @ 1000Mb/s (220m) so i would like to downgrade the link to 100FX using the necessary SFP's/GBIC's to extend the maximum distance to 550m and run the link @ 100Mb/s.
I have the part code for the 100FX SFP to install in the 3750 (GLC-GE-100FX) but cant find a 100FX GBIC for the 3550, can I use a 1000SX GBIC (WS-G5484) for the 3550 at one end and the 100FX SFP at the other? Any success with this configuration over MMF?
Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2960-S With GLC-FE-100FX Fiber Modules - Packet Loss
Apr 19, 2013I have two 2960-s switches with GLC-FE-100FX fibre modules in and I am seeing packet loss over the link that is connected to the modules. When the interface is shutdown and brought back up it always comes up in half duplex even thought it is set to full in the config. I've seen other posts where you have to use the command no duplex then full duplex to get it to come up int full duplex. This does appear to work when I do a show int it says its full duplex however I'm stil seeing 20 - 40% packet loss on the link which suggests to me there is still a speed/duplex issue. The device at the other end is a Cisco 7200 which is set to 100Full. If I plug a Cisco 2811 into the fibre link I get zero packet loss which suggests its a problem with the switch.
I have changed the modules and fibre cables which makes no difference. As I stated at the start I have two 2960's both are showing exactly the same issue. Details of the switch are below the SFP are cisco branded:

We are running software version version 5.0(3)A1(1) and it looks like the latest version is 5.0(3)A1(2) so that's not much of a difference.Am I missing something here?
