We have purchased two new Nexus 3548 switches. According to documenation the Nexus 3K does support vPC. When trying to enable the feature I get this:
nexus(config)# feature vpc
Error: vPC feature is not supported
nexus(config)#
We are running software version version 5.0(3)A1(1) and it looks like the latest version is 5.0(3)A1(2) so that's not much of a difference.Am I missing something here?
i want to know of the IOS verstion of cisco switch which support STP,some one told me that this feature is activated by deafalut if it not activated,how to turn on this Feature.i am using cisco 2960 Switch.

Cisco Nexus 2232 can only connect to End Hosts and not to a switch. Is there a New Feature added in Nexus 2232, which enables it to connect to a Switch like HP Flex Fabric ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA new Cisco 3750V2 (WS-C3750V2-48PS-S) running IOS 'c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE5.bin' waspurchased to add to a stack of 3 Cisco 3750 (WS- C3750- 48PS-S) switches. The IOS on the stacked switches is 'c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4.bin'.I loaded this IOS on to the new Cisco 3750V2 and deleted its original IOS. Boot up failed with error 'hardware not supported by firmware'. I am now trying to follow the recovery procedure but the I can only initialise the flash (flash_init) and there is no 'boot_helper' command to load the boot helper files. There is no option to rum 'copy xmodem' so I cannot upload the original IOS image via xmodem on hyperterminal.

I can only get to these switches via remote console so a GUI is out of the question for me. My ultimate goal is to configure these (2) switches for HSRP. Howver, everything that I found leads me to believe that I have to cluster in order to confiure the HSRP on these switches.

I have 3 VLANs setup (10, 20, and 30) with the switch and a router allowing for inter-vlan communication. Port FA 0/1 on the switch is setup as a trunk using 802.1Q connected to a single interface on the router.
I want to be able to monitor traffic on the trunk link on the switch and replicate that to the IDS/IPS host. Is there a way I can mirror traffic from FA 0/1 (the trunk link) to a regular access port on the switch which would connect to the IDS/IPS?
I have seen several articles on Cisco.com saying that you can have a source port as a multi-vlan link, but others say it is not possible. I did not have a chance to get into the lab to test this yet or else I would have.
I encountered problem while trying to copy file from Nexus 5548 to my ftp server (proteus - 192.168.12.220 - the Nexus switch is able to resolve name proteus correctly to 192.168.12.220). See below the working and not working scenarios. I have serached through Cisco Bug Database but unable to find any related bug associated to this problem. I'm facing a problem regarding loss of ping packets when i do ping test from nexus3k to another nexus3k connected directly.however there is no error counters on the interfaces on both of devices.the ping failutre is occurring only whenever i do ping test with a large number of ping packets.I don't see the ping loss symptom with default ping test (default ping test is 5 packets).

I have 2 datacenters running same equipement (two Nexu 5596 with FEX).I just took a look at the log just to see if everything is ok and I saw that I have the same error message (a lot of times) at both location :
%SYSMGR-FEX100-5-HEARTBEAT_LOSS: Service "satctrl" heartbeat loss 2 ,max 7,I though it was a problem with my peerklink-keepalive connection but I see the word FEX ....so i'm not sure...
Note that at both locations, my Nexus are connected back to back through the management port using transceivers. So it's a copper cable from the first nexus, going into a transceiver, going to another transceiver in fiber and then back to copper to the other nexus.
Where I can find the visio icons for the cisco 3508, 3524 and 3548. They are NOT on the cisco visio icon download site.

I have Nexus 7K installations in 2 locations. Both of them have multiple VDCs. In default VDC there are continous tacacs error message though tacacs is not configured. The requests are from various public IPs where thsi VDC is not exposed to Internet at all. What would be t he cause of it?

My problem with ASR 1006 as i tried to use the feature IRB ( integrated routing and bridging ) but i find that this feature is not supported i assume it may be a problem with IOS version or may be i made he configuration not in the proper way
so i am asking to try this feature on ASR 1000 series and work with it as I test this feature on other routers and it work just fine.
Is the feature "event logging" that is present on ACS 4.2 with the option to "send all events to the windows event log" no longer supported in ACS 5.2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is supported in terms of running a mixed feature set in a Cisco 3750 switch stack.We are looking at setting up a stack consisting of 5 x 3750V2 and 2 x 3750G. Due to a requirement for full EIGRP we need the IP Services feature set. Is it a supported configuration to run with 2 or 3 switches running the IP Services feature set as stack masters and the others running IP Base? I understand that if stack master priorities were set these switches with the higher feature set could manage the stack and offer IP Services accross the stack. If we were to lose all of the switches running IP Services the stack would drop back to IP Base.I am looking for guidance as to if this is a supported configuration and not in breach of licensing? Is this likely to cause any problem other than above now and for future IOS releases?

I have no problem to configure DHCP server on BVI 1 and VLAN 1 ( native VLAN ) interfaces, but there is a problem with other BVI's and VLANs. Maybe this feature isn't supported? Maybe DHCP server feature is supported to work just with default BVI and native VLAN?

I don't see any TRANSPORT_SERVICES_PKG in the NX-OS licensing guide.However, there is LAN_TRANSPORT_SERTICE_PKG. But I believe this is not for LDP.
one of our switches (WS-C2960G-24TC-L). When I try to turn on the lanbase-routing feature using sdm prefer lanbase-routing, it gives me an error (Unknown command). I tried "sdm prefer ?", and lanbase-routing wasn't there (only qos, default and dual IPv4 & IPv6). The switch is running on image C2960-LANBASEK9-M version 12.2(50)SE5.We have another switch (WS-C2960S-24TS-L), running on image C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M version 12.2(55)SE5, and I can enable lanbase-routing feature. If I upgrade the WS-C2960G-24TC-L to version 12.2(55)SE5, will it be able to do inter-vlan routing? Or is the switch itself totally limited to VLAN configuration only?
