The switch ws-c3524-XL with c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin not support the command dot1x?
I ask that because i´m unable to write this command: aaa authentication dot1x default group radius
And enable 802.1X authentication on the interface with this command: dot1x port-control auto
I am in the process of updating the software on a Catalyst 3500 series switch. I deleted the old bin file and copied over the new file via xmodem.the image I used is:
c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin
Once the xmodem copy is complete I performed the following sequence of steps:
File "xmodem:c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin" successfully copied to "flash:c350

The last output is where I am stuck. What am I missing?
latest OS release for this Model number: WS-C3524-XL-EN switch. I currently am running Version 12.0(5)WC17
The reason is, I'm having some issues installing some HP PC's connected to this switch. The nic card on the HP flaps up and down, disconnects/ reconnects continuously. The only way I get it to stop is to bring down the speed on NIC or the switch port to 10mbs.
If I add a nic card and disable the system board nic all is well.The HP rep says that Cisco has a patch for this unit. Any recent patch or what the latest OS is for this switch?

It came with a Universal IOS but there was no "Router" command under conf t. I downloaded and applied the latest "IP Base" IOS, but still no Router OSPF. Based on the matrix here > [URL] I thought "IP Base" supported OSPF, but what exactly is "OSPF for routed access" ? Do I actually need an "IP Services" IOS? From my download options, I do not see an IP Services IOS for the 3560X-24P-L so I'm left to assume that the switch does not support L3 / OSPF. So my question is this particular switch supports L3 / OSPF and what is Universal IOS?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI believe the answer is yes, but incorperating more layer 3 features of our 3750's, I want to know if they fully support EIGRP or OSPF?
Also for a small business of 4 locations, each with a 10mbps fiber and a 1.5mbps mpls... wouldn't you say EIGRP would be easier? Want to look at making the failover automatic if the 10mbps fiber goes down between a site, then the network fails over to 1.5mbps mpls. When the fiber returns in service then the network automatically preferr the fiber again.
Currently we use static routes and if there is a provider outage we have to manually edit the config to flip flop the routes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a customer that has a fiber rum between 2 building. They want to have 2 seperate fibers active that terminate into the same switch on each end. (redundancy).
In building A they have an extreme networks black diamond switch that does not support STP.In bulding B they have a Cisco 4507.
We will ahve to use a layer 3 routed connection due to the fact their switch in building A does not support STP.Our tech does not want to use static route becuase he does not want to setup IP SLA for the redundant connection.
Will RIPv2 work for this scenario and failover to the other fiber if needed? The hop count is the same for each fiber path..
As of right now, I don't have access to the PIX itself but can get access to it later today. In the meantime, I wanted to get everyone's opinions on a very peculiar issue I'm seeing with Internet download speeds.
Prior to last week, my company was utilizing a Sprint T1 connection for all visitor traffic. Attached to the Sprint T1 was a Cisco router -> C3524 Switch -> PIX-506E device.
Last week, a decision was made to upgrade our bandwidth for our visitor traffic and we replaced the T1 with a Comcast Business Class cable solution. The bandwidth we ordered was 22Mbit down/5Mbit up. From the cable modem that was provided, we connected it in the same manner -> C3524 Switch -> PIX-506E device.
Since the change, I noticed that our visitor V LAN hasn't really had much of a change in Internet speeds. Doing some quick speed tests, it shows that our download caps at around 5Mbit but our uploads are in the 22Mbit range.Thinking Comcast messed up and accidentally flipped our download/upload speeds, I was on the phone with them for almost an hour as we investigated the issue. They finally had me connect directly to the Comcast cable modem to test on my laptop. The results are that from the cable modem, the speeds are correct (I get 22Mbit down, 5Mbit up).
I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this or where to even begin. At first I thought maybe our PIX couldn't handle the speeds, but it's handling the upload rate just fine. All I know this has to be equipment on our side since Comcast had me test directly from the cable modem.
Does the nexus 7010 support virtual switching yet? All of the posts I have found from about a year ago say that it is going to be supported, but there were no dates listed. I heard the same thing from Cisco a while back, but haven't followed up with it.If it is supported finally are there any configuration guides available for it?

View 7 Replies View Related I have a 3560G switch with c3560-advipservicesk9-mz.122-46.SE and 2 routers. The switch has vlans defined. I want to route all traffic on vlan 25 out of one of the routers exclusively. Here is what I have attempted:
-Set the SDM template to routing & reload
-Define an access-list for the v lan traffic
-Define the route-map
-Apply the route-map to the vlan interface
When I attempt the last step I receive the following syslog error:
%PLATFORM_PBR-3-UNSUPPORTED_RMAP: Route-map RM_IMDGuest not supported for Policy-Based Routing
Also, the route-map is removed from the vlan interface after this error is thrown. Im 99% confident that PBR is supported on this switch (am I wrong?). Here is the relevant show output:...

We purchased ME 3400 switch and trying to implement it. But its quite surprising in the ME3400 configuration guide that the switch does not support VTP. When I checked in Feature navigator under feature "VTP" i could see ME3400 supports VTP. But when i get into CLI of ME3400, i am not getting any option of configuring VTP. I could see in some sites VMPS is supported in ME3400.
I would like to confirm the following:
1. Does VTP support present in ME3400 or not? If not, what would be the reason that it is not included in ME3400.
2. If not what is the alternative.
Network is already running VTP of around 30 switches.
Its required that all ports on nexus 7k should be user configurable as either 1G/10G/FcoE. Which module do i need in this case ?
