i have a Ws-C3550-24-Emi switch and i need to upgrade its flash memory to 32Mb. I couldn't find any documents in cisco website about the memory upgrade guideline. Possible to upgrade this switch to 32Mb? If so, what's the max of memory i can upgrade? and the part number for this type of memory?

I have purchased these two switches from ebay as a test lab, I plan to connect them up via a gigastack modulecable and enable ip routing on the c3550 and vlans to talk to each other.
I'm very much a procurve person and really need to get into the cisco switching.I will want to trunklacp between the switches - whats the process is setting that up on cisco switches?
Here iis a diagram of my current lab where I am using IP SLA to automatically switch from ISP 1 to ISP 2 should the connection go down (and vice versa)
My switches are C3550 Layer 3 switches. Both ISP's do work so connectivity is not the problem.
If I shutdown the fa0/19 port on SW1 the SLA kicks in and changes my defualt route out 10.0.1.0 without a problem. And when I do a no shut it comes back to tge 192.168.10.0 netowrk just as we would expect. No problem there.
When I disconnect the ISP 1 cell phone the SLA does switch the defualt route to the 10.0.1.0 netowrk. Okay, just fine so far. Here isthe problem, when i reconnect the cell phone the SLA does not come back to the 192.168.10.0 netowrk without first having to delete the SLA and then recresting it (both switches).
We have two switches; a WS-C3550-48 and a WS-C3548-XL connected via fiber uplink ports. Both switches are on the same subnet 192.168.1.0 /24. I would like to change the subnet of the second switch, WS-C3548-XL, to be on 192.168.2.0 /24. Would it be possible to assign 192.168.2.x IP addresses to both uplink ports to achive this?
Or would I need to create a separate VLAN and assign both GigabitEthernet0/1 uplink ports to this VLAN?
I'm trying to configure my C3550 with fast ethernet port 0/48 assigned to vlan 2 in static access mode and SVI vlan 2 configured as dhcp client.
But I see command ip address dhcp is not available on interface vlan 2:

i have a strange problem in my campus network.im trying to run port security on my access switches which they are 3550 with ios c3550-ipservicesk9-mz.122-52.SE when i run the port security with Sticky option, even i put 1000 mac address for just learning on the port but when i issue the switchport port-security command every pc connected to that port loses its connection with network UNTIL i enable dhcp snooping!!! all my client are getting they ip address from DHCP server but strange thing is that how on earth i have to enable DHCP snooping to port security work properly? also when i check the configuration under the interface when dhcp snooping is not yet enabled switch doesnt add any mac address under the interface so no one can work until i enable snooping and then switch adds mac addresses under the interface configuration.is this Bug on this version of IOS?[code]

have 3 Catalyst 3750 in same stack, the IOS version is 12.2(53)SE2. Today we can not telnet/ssh to this switch, but ping is ok, and switch function is ok. I try to access the console port, it show "low on memory, try again later". After I reboot the master switch in the stack, the master switch change to another switch, then I can telnet/ssh to this switch. I upgraded the ios from cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-37.SG1.bin (12.8MB Size) to cat4500-entservices-mz.122-37.SG1.bin (13.8 MB SIZE) and deleted the previous IOS.But previous IOS is still getting shown in sh bootflash: command. Furthermore, dir bootflash: commands shows there is only one IOS , which is running. How I can free the space from bootflash , as I again have to upgrade the another new IOS ( of 16MB), which I tried through solarwinds tftp and couldn't upload successfully because of its limitation. Now, If I try to upload the new IOS through FTP, it gives me memory space error. How I can free the space captured by old IOS and also how I can delete the 3rd unknown entry of IOS (shown below output of commands)?

I managed to upgrade this C2960G-48TC-L from 12.2.35-SE5 to 15.0.2-SE1 and now I can't connect anymore via telnet nor ssh. Console output simply shows

I noticed on the 2960 switches we have deployed that are running the latest IOS, 12.2(58)SE2, memory utilization is really high (almost 80 percent). I have not noticed any side effects but I wanted to verify this is acceptable. My question is does the high memory utilization matter? I see this may be related to bug CSCtw83946 but no resolution is mentioned.
I did some testing various IOS revisions and below is what I have found using a WS-C2960-48TC-L with default configuration and only my laptop connected to a switchport in vlan1. You will notice memory utilization will grows with each version but jumps drastically with 58. One difference with 58 I needed to use a different command to retrieve memory utilization. The output was gathered by pasting the output of the show command into the Cisco Output Interpreter on their website.

i want to understand why this 2 proceses (DHCPD & ARP input) taking more memory?High CPU: We also facing intermediate high CPU utilization (above 95%). When CPU is high there were 2 processes consuming more CPU are 'Spanning Tree' (about 20%) & ARP Input (about 66%). we also checked the ARP entries, there were 1500 ARP entries & 2 incomplete ARP (out of 6000 ARP supported)
I am troubleshooting memory leaks and buffers issues on my 1900 and had some doubts regarding the problems that my router causes.Intermitently during the day for no reason the gig0/0 interface connected to ISP stops responding from our management network (log shows that the interface goes down). The ISPs modem responds fine from my management network.The issue goes away by itself in 20 minutes, sometimes more or after a hard reboot.Sometimes a router would increment a throttle value to 1. When running for 4 days without a reboot, the router raised 39 throttles and 57 input drops. I am seeing high memory utilisation, it seems to sit fairly stable and I do not see an increase but this has only been running a few days. No errors or performance issues. We had a stack of 4 qty 3750g running IP base on ver 12.2.32, then installed a 3750x to the stack and upgraded the whole stack to 15.0.2 SE3. In doing so, we noticed that the memory utilization jumped from 60-70% to 83-84%.
We had the same issue occur when upgrading to 15.0.2 SE3 on another stack that was 6 qty 3750g running ip-services, but this one jumped to 90%. On the 6 qty stack, we downgraded to 12.2.55 and the memory util went back down to 60-70%.
On the mixed stack, we replaced the 3750x with another 3750g and downgraded the whole stack to 12.2.55, however, the memory utilization did not drop down. As far as I can tell, no config changes have changed from the original IOS.

We have a 3750 stack with a mix of 3750G and 3750X switches. The current active template on the switch is desktop default and we are running EIGRP on the switch with large routing table so we get the TCAM error that a specific prefix cannot be programmed in TCAM memory so it will be software forwarded.%PLATFORM_UCAST-4-PREFIX: One or more, more specific prefixes could not be programmed into TCAM and are being covered by a less specific prefix, and the packets may be software forwarded
This error is quite frequent on a daily basis. My question is that will this error create a high CPU situation and affect traffic processing on the stack causing ESX Hosts to become unresponsive?
