i have this message "DHCP Timeout"on few cisco IP Phones . try to assign IP manually and it's working fine.. seems DHCP not giving IP's to those.. 6500 have configured as DHCP pool.
my MSFC2 sent this strange log message. %DATACORRUPTION-SP-1-DATAINCONSISTENCY: copy error, The error message decoder tool says: "NOT FOUND". The level is "alert".
Cisco IP phones attached to a Moduke in one of my Cat6500 access Switches suddenly went down. Upon closer inspection of the Switch Sys log, I observed the following Sys log error messages: [Module 9 is experiencing the following error: Inline Power Module - PS Voltage bad. ]A sh Mod output indicates the PoE daughter card and Main Module are "ok" - see attached output. It appears issue is related to the the actual Power Supply module and not the blade module and installed PoE Daughter card. I am inclined to open a TAC case for a PS replacement, but wanted to see if this can be resolved without a hardware replacement. At this time all 48 IP phones attached to this module are out of Service.
I have a WS- C2924C-XL switch that I would like to upgrade the IOS version on. The IOS version in question can only be installled on an 8MB version of this switch, I have tried to confirm the amount of memory present in the device but I am getting conflicting values depending on where I look. The model number would indicate that this device is a 4MB version, therefore not compatable with the upgrade.Running the show version command from the CLI shows Processor having 8192K/1024K bytes of memory.Accessing the switch via the VMS management interface displays a value of 4MB.

Right now i am able to access the router . whats this error about -- is router going to crash or reboot?
The default value of DRAM and Flash memory are 128 MB and 16 MB of Cisco Catalyst WS-3750-24PS-E switch .I want to know , wherther the default value may be change upto 256 DRAM and 128 Flash.
We have a couple of 6500 series switches and have 3 BGP peerings to each. The 6500 series switches are loaded with WS-SUP720-3B Supervisor Engine. I believe there is a limit to the number of IPv4 routes WS-SUP720-3B supports(256,000). We also have "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configured on the BGP peerings. Thus when I do a "show ip bgp A.B.C.D" it displays three routes from 3 BGP peers and it displays an additional 3 "received-only routes" which I think is due to the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configuration. We currently filter inbound routes from the BGP peers to be between /0 and /27
We are now looking to add another 2 BGP peerings. I am not too sure if the WS-SUP720-3B will be able to handle all the BGP routes. Is this limit of 256,000 IPv4 routes due to Processor memory limitation or is it software related? Would removing the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" save me some memory ?
i just noticed that im getting some alloc memory errors with a flexwan card i have on a cisco 6513 on slot 5/1, however i can't seem to figure out how to get more information on this and if the issue is related to the flexwan module or the DS3 card itself. Not really sure how to view memory stats/errors for a particular flexwan card on the 6500 platform. The 6500 has been up for a long time and rebooting it might work but i wanted to know what should be done before i reboot the 6500.
What is used DDR memory on DFC on linecards for Cisco 7600 or Catalyst6500? I thought that DFC has copy of TCAMs from PFC. That PFC only has TCAMs, and it doesn't have DRAM on itself?
I've been said that if I have full BGP table in memory on supervisor on 6500 (that should be DRAM on RP on MSFC) that I also need 1GB additional memory on DFC on linecards? Is this true? But that should implied that DFC also has copy from MSFC not only from PFC, is this correct?
According to my boss every 3 to 4 months he has to restart our 2821 with a 16-esw module installed because of a low memory issue dealing with CEF. Here is the exact error message.
%% Low on memory; try again laterJun 8 11:18:51.777: %FIB-2-FIBDOWN: CEF has been disabled due to a low memory condition. It can be re-enabled by configuring "ip cef [distributed]" Jun 8 11:19:51.823: %FIB-2-FIBDOWN: CEF has been disabled due to a low memory condition. Today, one of our Cisco 3750 got unmanaged from NOC, we were able to ping the switch, also, traffic was flowing fine but not able to telnet or local login. On trying to login through console following messages were coming:
%% Low on memory; try again later %% Low on memory; try again later %% Low on memory; try again later %% Low on memory; try again later %% Low on memory; try again later %% Low on memory; try again later
[code].....
We given power on reset, after which we were able to login switch again. I wanted to know the actual reason behind it and if there is any other way to recover switch other than power reset.?
As soon as I connected my ASR 1002s to the Internet and digested the Internet BGP table, I began receiving this message. I’ve google’d and turned up nothing so far. I assume I need to allocate more memory to this process.
The router 1841 is connected directly to the layer switch. the network diagram is below:
Office A --> Switch (L3) --> Router 1841 --> Internet --> Office B
However, when I transfer the file from Office A to office B, the speed very slow ( only around 40 kb/second), and there are an input error and CRC error:
Cisco-R1841#sh interfaces FA0/1 FastEthernet0/1 is up, line protocol is up Hardware is Gt96k FE, address is 0019.e02f.03dd (bia 0019.e02f.03dd)
have 3 Catalyst 3750 in same stack, the IOS version is 12.2(53)SE2. Today we can not telnet/ssh to this switch, but ping is ok, and switch function is ok. I try to access the console port, it show "low on memory, try again later". After I reboot the master switch in the stack, the master switch change to another switch, then I can telnet/ssh to this switch. I check the Ciscoworks server syslog report, there are many MAC address flapping error message, and I beleive the MAC address flapping occured before several weeks. ( the G2/0/15 & G3/0/15 is connect to a VMware ESX server and the EtherChannel config mismatch with this Catalyst 3750 switch ) How to mention the root cause of the "low on memory" problem and what is the abnormal memory usage ( free memory percentage below ?% )?
i have a Ws-C3550-24-Emi switch and i need to upgrade its flash memory to 32Mb. I couldn't find any documents in cisco website about the memory upgrade guideline. Possible to upgrade this switch to 32Mb? If so, what's the max of memory i can upgrade? and the part number for this type of memory?
I have a bootflash in 4507R with the size of 60MB. I upgraded the ios from cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-37.SG1.bin (12.8MB Size) to cat4500-entservices-mz.122-37.SG1.bin (13.8 MB SIZE) and deleted the previous IOS.But previous IOS is still getting shown in sh bootflash: command. Furthermore, dir bootflash: commands shows there is only one IOS , which is running. How I can free the space from bootflash , as I again have to upgrade the another new IOS ( of 16MB), which I tried through solarwinds tftp and couldn't upload successfully because of its limitation. Now, If I try to upload the new IOS through FTP, it gives me memory space error. How I can free the space captured by old IOS and also how I can delete the 3rd unknown entry of IOS (shown below output of commands)?
I have a 3560 connected to an edge device and I keep etting this error. I have turned off proxy arp and turned off ip cef under the interface, however I lot connectivity to the internet when I did that. I can't seem to find any documentation on this error. I understand what it means, I just don't know how to resolve the problem.

I am running IOS version 8.0(5) in cisco ASA 5520. This issue i am facing is that when the memory utilzation reaches 49 percent, the web-vpn users are not able to login as they are getting a blank page. The only error which is getting in the output " sh mem webvpn allobjects" is ERROR: Memory allocation failed?
l have some problems when l try to access to the switch by telnet or ssh, by the console port , the switch show me the next message:l need restart the switch in order to access it again.
I have a Switch WS-C3750E-48PD-SF with IOS 12.2(58)SE2 which reports more than 80% in utilization of memory I don't know what is causing the high memory utilization.
Recently i atsrt having problems with my cisco router 1811/k9, apparently was booting continiosly when restarted.
After i connected my console i found the problem while booting:
DDR memory test failed. Resetting the router ...
I tried to contact cisco TAC, but i need a reseller contract number to place a ticket, i do not have a resller contract number as my router was bought more than two years ago. I called cisco support and they told me to contact my reseller, my reseller told me to contact cisco so i am in a eternal loop of forwarding phone calls...
