I am not able to create more than 256 VLAN in Cisco Nexus 5010 switch. While creating I am getting "No VLAN resources available for VLAN creation" Details below -
Switch model - 5010

Currently have two routers inside our network.
One is the default GW 10.1.1.13
One is Jump Router for ATT 10.1.1.12
Both connected to HP Procurve L2 switch
The ATT Router is 10.1.1.2Want to replace GW and Jump with one 3750 L3 switch.icomplish this with only one port g0/1 connected to HP Procurve? Can I make the switchport 10.1.1.13 and then create a ip vlan999 10.1.1.12?route all to 10.1.1.2Or do I just connect two ports, and hardcode them with an ip?
Current Situation:We are able to reach server IP -10.203.206.40 from our 4948 switch vlan 10.30.1.0/24 through the Layer 3 interface between 4506 and 4948.
Requirements
==========
1) Now we would like to add one more L3 interface between 4506 & 4948 for redundancy purpose.
2) Make available Vlan 540 in 4948 from 4506... need to create two trunk links between 4506 & 4948 and allow vlan 540.
This is regarding VLAN creation on C3750E switch.I want to create new Vlan 94 on this switch and also I want to allowed same interfaces like Vlan 95 & Vlan 96. [code]

I have a question regarding the 3925 router. In the past on my old 3660's, in order to add a new line to an ACL, I would have to remove the entire ACL and readd it when adding new ACL lines to the list. Is this required on the 3925's, or is it like the ASA 5520's where you can just add an ACL any 'ol time without having to remove/add the entire ACL list?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't got time to test different configurations yet. Just want to quickly ask here about the fall-over route-map configuration. I saw lots of example using pip prefix-list to specify the next-hop for tracking. Is that the only way you can do it? Can you just use a standard ACL to specify that host like permit host 10.2.2.2? ip prefix-list will do like ip prefix-list seq 5 permit 10.2.2.2/32. And you apply the prefix-list to route-map then. ACL will work?

When this happened, the interface that was actually blocked by STP didn't come to forwarding state, and as a result this switch became isolated. This switch is connected to a switch that runs standard MST, and to some switches that run PVST but have bpdufilter enabled as we don't want them to participate on the STP. It is a 3750 switch with software version 12.2(55)SE5.
As far as I knew, when a MST pre-standard BPDU was received, the interface was able to receive more pre-standard BPDUs, but I didn't know it would turn the link down. Why the links went down, and if there is any way we can configure those links to accept only MST standard BPDUs.
I would also like to know if there is any chance a switch running PVST can send a MST pre-standard BPDU if it has a software version 12.2(25)SEE3.
I would like to get CbQos on a Cisco ASR 1002S (IOS-XE Software (PPC_LINUX_IOSD-IPBASEK9-M), Version 15.1(1)S1). With the standard OIDs (cbQosIfIndex - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.166.1.1.1.1.4).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Catalyst 2960-S switch and a pre-standard IP Phone (Cisco 7960). When I connect the phone to the switch the switch recognizes the phone and supplies power. I would like to prevent this behaviour. ie. I would like to disable detection of pre-standard equipment. Is there a command I can issue on the 2960-S to do this? For example, on a switch from a different vendor I can issue the command: no power pre-std-detect to prevent it from detecting the 7960 phone, is there an equivalent command on the Catalyst 2960-S ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking at provisioning a Catalyst 4500 with a WS-X4712-SFP+E module to allow for future 10Gb connectivity via 10Gb SFP+ interfaces. These cards are backwards compatible with standard 1Gb SFP interfaces but I'm wondering about the other way around; ie. can you populate these blades with 10Gb SFP+ interfaces when they connect to Catalysts with only 1Gb SFP interfaces at the other end?
The data sheets don't really explain this. It seems pointless getting 10Gb SFP+ interfaces for the 4500 when it's only 1Gb at the access layer end, but these access switches will be replaced in the near future (~12 months) and if the 10Gb SFP+ interfaces support connections at 1Gb speeds upfront, it would mean I could retain these interfaces when the access switches upgrade to 10Gb connectivity capabilities down the track. Does the 10Gb SFP+ interfaces are compatible with 1Gb SFP's or only other 10Gb SFP+ interfaces?
I just receive a new Cisco 3925 with a etherswitch module 24 port :
SM-ES3G-24-P,I successfully boot the switch module and gain access to it.
I found some documentation on CCO but I don't sorted out this small information :,

The Router is connected to the switch module via a HIMI :
The Cisco enhanced EtherSwitch service modules also provide a physical Gigabit Ethernet serializer/deserializer integrated circuit transceiver (HIMI) interface. In the Cisco 2900 series and Cisco 3900 series routers, the HIMI link on the Cisco enhanced EtherSwitch service modules is connected to the router internal Gigabit Ethernet backplane. This link is used for interconnection between other interface cards or network modules attached to the router Gigabit Ethernet backplane bypassing the router host CPU; thus, increasing CPU performance by decreasing CPU processing.
If I do a sh ip int brief on the switch, I have 26 interface but only 24 are physicaly present on the front. The type of the 0/25 and 0/26 are the same : media type is 1000BaseXThe interface gi 0/26 is up up but the 0/25 is down down.
I have a customer with Cisco 7940 and 7960 IP phones that they do not plan to replace. They do want a new LAN and are looking at the Catalyst WS-C2960S-48FPD-L and WS-C2960S-24PD-L as access layer devices.
these switches support the Cisco pre-standard PoE required by the 7940 and 7960 IP phones.
I just barely put in a Cisco 3925 on our network. I've configured gigabitethernet 0/2 to live on our management VLAN with an IP address of 10.129.0.31/16. I did a "no shut" on the interface. Everything should be ready to allow me to ping and/or SSH to that interface but I can't. It's really weird because I've done this a thousand times (at least on ASAs). I must be missing something. At any rate, the default gateway of the management VLAN is 10.129.0.1. I can ping that from the router. I can also ping that from my laptop (which lives on a completely different VLAN). But I can't ping the router from my laptop or vice versa.

I have a 3925 Router with a 48 port switch module (part number SM-D-ES3G-48-P). I have no problem accessing the 3925 Router, but when I go into the 48 port, I get an error that reads

I know that the wrong IOS is installed on the switch, but the problem is that this is an endless loop. The switch resets then comes back to the same error. How to get the switch out of this loop so that I can load the correct IOS.
I have two networks at two sites with a dot1q trunk between the two L3 switches at both sites (no routers involved)
SITE A - Cisco 3750 L3 - VLAN ID 50
10.10.50.0/24
SITE B - Cisco 3750 L3 - VLAN ID 50
10.20.50.0/24
I would like to extend the SITE A VLAN to SITE B so that I can move hosts from SITE A to SITE B without needing to change their IP address but the vlan ID is already in use. Obviously the easy solution is to change the VLAN ID for one or other of the sites but both sites contain hosts that run 24/7. Is there a way to join two VLANs with different IDs together. So for example I create a new VLAN 60 at SITE B and associate it with VLAN 50 at SITE A.
i need to solves this little problem on 2960S lan BASE but i dont know if it is possible.
Uplink port config for gi 1/0/28 is:
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk alloved vlan 10,11
but on interface gi 1/0/1 i want to have data from vlan 10 tagged as VLAN 20.
At this time i have solved this issue very primitively
I have set up gi 1/0/2 as int mode acces, acces vlan 20 and i have connected gi 1/0/2 with gi 1/0/3 with eth cable. int gi 1/0/3 is switchpor mode acces, switchport acces vlan 10
I have a 3750G switch in my production network that only has VLAN 1 on it. All ports are in a default state and VLAN 1 is disabled. The switch is passing traffic but shouldn't having the default VLAN shut down cause the ports not to pass traffic? If I start to create VLANs will that cause the switch to stop passing traffic?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup a L2tpv3 VLAN-to-VLAN tunnel. My setup has two Cisco 890 router with Cisco IOS Software version 15.0(1) M4. These routers are connected directly on FastEthernet port 8.
One linux machine is connected on FastEthernet port 0 on each router. The two linux machines are on same vlan. I am trying to establish a vlan-to-vlan tunnel between the routers and send traffic between the linux machines.
I followed the case study 11.4 from [URL] and configured the l2tp-class and pseudowire-class. However, the vlan interface configuration is different on 890 router.
I configured a vlan interface as follows.
(config)#vlan 200
(config)# interface FastEthernet 0
#shutdown
#switchport access vlan 200
(config)# interface vlan 200
I don't see the 'xconnect' command in this context. What's wrong with my configuration?
We have a low bandwith (15-20 Mbit/s) to the ASA from our Client vlan. If i connect the Client to the same vlan as the ASA is, the bandwith (90 Mbit/s) is good.
Here are the Layer 3 Design:
Client -> vlan 2 - Switch - vlan 7 -> vlan 1 - ASA 5505 -> ISP
The Layer 2 Design:
Client -> Gig2/0/13 - Switch - Gig4/0/43 -> Eth0/1 ASA5505 -> ISP

I assuming the switch has a problem with routing ?It is a stacked Switch with following members:
switch 1 provision ws-c3750g-12sswitch 2 provision ws-c3750g-24tsswitch 3 provision ws-c3750g-24tsswitch 4 provision ws-c3750x-48
And we have following error message in the log from the switch:

One or more specific prefixes could not be programmed into TCAM and are being covered by a less specific prefix, and the packets may be software forwarded I first get the idea that the switch is overloaded with router traffic.
