I'm sure it can be done just haven't been able to find it. I'm running ACS 4.2 and have 2 network groups, one is wireless where I have a WLC and the other is the default where vpn users authenticate with their tokens. Is there a way to have the Wireless network group authenticate using AD and the other group use RSA? I can't find the switch or switches I need.

I've configured RA VPN on ASA5520 with OpenLDAP server authentication. It works fine for all the users existed in LDAP database, but my requirement is I want one particular group to be able to access VPN and not all the users. I have checked most of Cisco documents but all are leading to Microsoft's AD and LDAP attribute map creation. Is there any way to achieve the same thing with OpenLDAP server and not with AD?

I can't seem to find any documentation to how to get this working. I'm trying to make it so that only users of a certain AD group are authenticated for my Anyconnect VPN on my ASA 8.2.2
I've found the documentation on how to prevent logins using the msNPAllowDialin attribute, but not how to base it on group membership (memberOf) [code] I need to do any kind of restrictions inside the actual group-policy TESTGROUP ?

I have to WLC's a 4402 and 5508 in a mobilty group. they are both running 7.0.116.0. They are configured to use Web Authentication. We are having complaints that Users are having to re-authenticate when moving around the office. My theory is they are moving from one WLC to the other and then requiring to re-authenticate.

I'm on an ASA 5510 running 8.2(5)41. I have clientless WebVPN configured to authenticate against an RSA RADIUS server, which has users assigned to RADIUS Class attribute 25 to match the group-lock values assigned to each ASA group-policy. This of course is to ensure users can only access the login page's drop-down VPN profiles they are assigned to by the RADIUS server. I have two other ASA 5510s (same code level) using the same RADIUS server with group-lock enabled but for IPSec remote access VPN's, and the group-lock feature works fine.
WebVPN, however, is authenticating any user to any VPN profile without regard to the RADIUS Class attribute 25 they are assigned. If I configure the VPN profiles to authenticate locally and assign group-lock to individual ASA user accounts, group-lock works. As soon as I point it back to the RADIUS server, group-lock does nothing. From the 'debug aaa' below for user 'corpvpnstp', you can see the RADIUS server sends back the attribute 25 values of "ou=stp.Client;" and "ou=stp.ClientDRC;" for this user. The ASA profile this user has attempted to connect to is "EMS-Admin", which should get denied by the ASA. Instead, the ASA successfully authenticates the user.

In the WLC there are two groups (say A and B). How would I take group B and point it to a RADIUS server for authentication? The server is ping reachable. I have searched but did not see any definitive answer.

I had a problem about authentication use AD group member. Below webiside is the way I config on ACS.
[URL]
I'm using ACS 5.1.0.44 and this version has a bug , ACS cannot read AD group. I have to add it manually . After I change the access policy from Internal user to AD1. I can use anyone AD ID to pass authenticaiton. I finished all config from the website had same result.
I checked the access polices -- default device admin -- authorization , the new rules I created had no hit count. How can I make sure that I make a right config ?

I am deploying ISE with WLC 7.4. I have two SSID(s) running in my network 1. Corporate & 2. Services. I have a domain setup lets say "AD.com" with 4 groups 1. Corporate, 2. Services, 3. Employees, 4. Contractors. Here is an example of the scenario that I want:
AD.com Group : Corporate's User : 1. C_USER1
2. C_USER2
3. C_USER3
4. C_USER4
5. C_USER5
[code]....
Now what I want to do is have 802.1x authentication on my Corporate SSID that will check in AD.com, ONLY AND in ONLY corporate group for authentication. That is only C_USER1 to C_USER5 are allowed to connect to it. Users from any other AD group shouldnt be authenticated on this SSID.The same for the services group & SSID.

Looking to fine tune Cisco IPSec client RA-VPN authentication on our ASA-5510. Currently using NT Domain authentication. It's been working fine for quite a while but is too broad a brush. It authenticates anyone who is in the domain. We need to only authenticate folks who are in a specific AD remote access security group. I'm testing LDAP but am getting the same results. I can get it to authenticate based on overall domain membership but can't seem to figure out how to check group membership.
We've updated to ASA 8.2(1) and ASDM 6.2(1). It seems to have more LDAP functionality but I'm not an LDAP expert. I've posted an image of the LDAP server dialog from the ASDM. I originally tried putting the Group DN in the Base DN field but kept getting a "can't find user" error when testing. I also tried adding the group info in the "LDAP parameters for group search" field at the bottom. But it doesn't seem to be looking there. Note that the current value is the Group Base DN only. I also tried putting "memberOf=" in front of that. Still no luck. The values shown in the image work for simple domain membership.

Options a user may reside in Austin, TX and I want the user to utilize the local proxy (i.e. texasproxy:8080). We currently only require the user to enter the RSA passcode and username to authentication (RSA/AD username are identical). Is there a way to have the user authenticate via RSA and have the user's AD group membership (TX) assign the user the specific IE proxy settings? We are utilizing an ASA 5520 on 8.2, but we are willing to upgrade to newer IOS or even consider anyconnect to resolve this issue.

I just started configuring AnyConnect with ASA 5520 that uses Cisco SecureACS to pass radius authentication. I configured two profiles with different split tunnel restrictions and what I discovered is that when the client connects to the ASA, they are provided a choice of these two groups (I guess there is no way to restrict this) and I can log into either one with any user account. How do I restrict this so that the user can only use one profile? Currently users capable of VPN would be placed in one specific AD group so that is what SecureACS checks. Is there a sample configuration guide to handle multiple profiles with different levels of access?

verify if the ASA 5520 CSC module way of applying security policy (http, smtp, pop3, etc.) is per network/subnet or group of users? Based on my understanding through reading, web and email protection profile/config is global. It will be the same to every network user that is redirected via service-policy config on the ASA.
Scenario: I have two VLAN, guest and employee. Of course guest and employee have different web filter profile. Can i configure it such that guest web-filter profile is not just strict while employee's access is limited only to productive internet sites.

Is there any requirement like LDAP or AD is required for MAC authentication?

I'm in the process of moving some of our remote access vpn to an asa5520 and anyconnect.
The problem I've come across is that when using radius as authentication, I choose any one of my connection profiles in anyconnect and log in with any username regardless of the group on radius.
How do I map the connection profile to a group on radius so that i can separate the users?

I am using a cisco asa5520 and i have set up remote access vpn with an AnyConnect connection profile. In the connection profile i have set up that users should authenticate using both certificate and AAA.Due to a high security requirement, the user certificate is issued from a 3rd party. This is working fine and the user now need a valid certificate and a username/password to authenticate successfully.I added the CA certificate as a associated trustpoint on the ASA box to get the certificate verification working.Problem:If Jane and Joe both have a valid certificate AND a valid username/password, Jane could authenticate using a combo of Joes certificate, and Janes username/password. Both are valid (isolated), but i only want jane to be able to authenticate with her username/password and her personal certificate.

I have an ASA 5520 and I am having trouble getting the AnyConnect VPN authentication timeout feature to work properly. I thought I did have it working a couple of months ago, but right now it is not giving me more than the default 12 seconds. I have tried intervals of anywhere from 25 seconds up to 120. I am currently runnign version 6.4 on the ASA and AnyConnect 2.5.3055.

We have ASA 5520 as SSL VPN concentrator so users can access internal web from outside. Our internal web also has several internet URL. What we want is when user click internet URL in our internal web, ASA forward those request to internal proxy server. I already config proxy using port 8080 and username "companyuser" and password, but always have authentication failed on ssl vpn browser. We uses forefront TMG as proxy. Username and password have right to access Internet.

I have been successfully able to setup Cisco AnyConnect VPN on ASA 5520 with 8.4 code. I have set it to authenticate against the RADIUS Server (Microsoft Windows 2008 NPS server). I have noticed one thing, on the server under "Constraints and Authentication Method". I picked MS-CHAP-v2, but it is considered Less secure authentication methods. I can click on Add and choose other Authentication methods like Smart Card or other Certificate, PEAP, EAP-MSCHAP v2. I picked PEAP but then the VPN does not work.
So first of all does it really matter if I just leave it to MS-CHAP-v2? Because from my understanding is that AnyConnect will authenticate to ASA and then ASA in the backend talks to the RADIUS server so from a security stand point this scenario shouldn't it be sufficient as no un encrypted or less secure information is available to the outside world? Secondly is there any documentation on using PEAP with Cisco AnyConnect?

I've gotten to the point where I can test against active directory and get in, also I can get AD groups from my server on the ASA. My problem, I can't connect in via my AnyConnect client on my Android. I immediately get a "log in failed" and I know I'm using the right username/pass. Doing a little troubleshooting, I have attached my AnyConnect debug log and the results of the "debug ldap 255" command on the ASA. Also, I've used ldp.exe to determine I can connect in with the username/password combo I'm using.Combing through the AnyConnect logs I see a few instances of "global error unexpected" but no Google searches have brought up anything useful.

Does the ASA treat an object-group with a network-object containing a range of IP addresses as a netmask? For example, I can apply this configuration without the ASA throwing any errors though the configuration calls for a 'net mask':
object-group network test
network-object 192.168.0.0 192.168.63.255
?
network-object-group mode commands/options:
A.B.C.D Enter an IPv4 network mask
sh run ob id test
object-group network test
network-object 192.168.0.0 192.168.63.255
I found that in the documentation it requires a netmask as oppose to a range. Is this a bug in the code? I am running code version 8.0(5)23 on a 5520. If this is not a bug how does the ASA treat this type of configuration when applied to an access list? When I ran a quick packet trace and denied access from that range it looks like the ASA doesn't read that configuration properly.

I have an existing home network with several win7 and XP machines connected.I would like to connect a new iPad wireless to th same work group. The iPad connects fine to the network and can access the internet. However, the iPad doesn't seem to see the other computers in the work group I want to connect it to, nor do the windows computers see the iPad. This is surely due (at least in part) to not having specified the work group name on the iPad, which I cannot figure out how to do.

I was wondering if I can check -where it is located and how to enforce this policy. (or create it if it isn't in effect correctly)

Is it possible to restrict the link without removing their name?

I try to map LDAP Group to ASA Group policy following documentation:
[URL]
This is a config for ASA 8.0. I would have expected it to work on 8.4 as well but I do run into problems. The mapping as shown in LDAP Debug and ASA Log will actually happen but it is overwritten by the "GPnoAccess" Group Policy configured locally in the Tunnel Group. From earlier works with RADIUS I would have expected the user specific Attribute to be "stronger"?
ASA Log:
AAA retrieved user specific group policy (correct Policy) for user = XXX
AAA retrieved default group policy (GPnoAccess) for user = XXX

I'm looking into a way of routing users internet connection based on their username or group in a windows environment. Currently there's two ISP connections with their own proxy server. I want a user to be fully redirected to one of the ISPs based on who they are. I was hoping via IE proxy settings, this can be accomplished, but it looks like the primary ISP connection, is still getting most of the connections/routing.

I have this scenario, AS5510 ver 8.4(3), VPN Client 5.0.07, RADIUS authentication with IAS on Windows 2003 Server. The issue is that, establishing the connection with the VPN Client, if the user credentials are correct every things works fine, but if we introduce a wrong password I don't receive an error message or a again the authentication form.Nothing happens the VPN Client keep trying to "contact security gateway", after about 5 minutes it stops without any message.Debugging the authentication process in the ASA I see that if the password is incorrect the radius authentication response is "reject". I have also tried with a different version of VPN Client but nothing change.Using AnyConnect client every things works fine.

We use a combination of Cisco ACS and Cisco catalyst 3560 switches for network authentication and authorization. Clients (Windows XP) have a certificate installed which will grand access to the network and put them in the correct VLAN. So far, so good. Some users are testing with Windows 7 in the same set-up as above and run into strange behaviour. The problem is that after a random timer the machine gets de-authenticated and nothing besides a reboot works to get the computer authenticated again (from a Windows point of view). It looks like this only happens to users who are using a certificate to authenticate, Windows 7 MAC bypass users have no such problems. If it occurs, the following logging appears in ACS: [code] We are using ACS 4.2(0) Build 124 and 3560-48PS switches with IOS 12.2(55).

I am using ACS 5.3. I have succesfully configured Machine Authentication for a Windows 7 laptop using EAP-TLS. The ACS is configured with an Active Directory external identity store where the Windows 7 laptop is configured as part of the domain. I'm pretty sure that the ACS was using the AD to authenticate the laptop's name because at first the authentications were failing because I had the Certificate Authentication Profile configured to look at an attribute in the client certificate that was empty. When I fixed that, the authentication suceeded.
I started doing some failure testing so I disconnected the Domain Controller from the network. Sure enough, the ACS shows the Active Directory external store is in the Disconnected State.I then went to my Windows 7 laptop and disconnected the wireless connection and connected it again, expecting it to fail because the AD is down. But it succeeded! My Win 7 laptop is accessing the network wirelessly through a Lightweight AP and 5508 WLC. The WLAN Session Timeout was set for 30 minutes. So even with the AD disconnected, every 30 minutes, the ACS log showed a successful EAP-TLS authentication. I then changed the WLAN Session Timeout to 2 hours 10 minutes. Same thing, every 2 hours 10 minutes, a succesfull EAP-TLS authentication. I really don't know how the authentications are succeeding when the AD is not even connected. Is there a cache in the ACS?
