I tried the two (2) following commands but they are not supported :-

we have 2 WS-X6516-GE-TX, WS-X6516A-GBIC, and a WS-X6748-GE-TX with a WS-F6700-CFC daughtercard
our sup is a WS-SUP720-3B
we are experiencing packet loss for everything connected in the WS-X6748-GE-TX blade, right now we dont have any production device in that blade due to the packet loss we are experiencing.
this switch was running hybrid before it is now running native ios, however I can't recall if we didn't have that packet loss before. do i need to update a firmware of the card or daughtercard (if this is possible, can't say i've done it before).

1. Can i connect my DSL (on ethernet interface and using static DSL IP) on the same router and confgure two static routes to internet - one to multilink interface and other to ethernet interface (connected to DSL) ?
2. I have many servers using static NAT to external IPs which are routed on T1 circuits. Will it get into issues when communicating to outside? [for example my exchange server, websites etc?

Jul 25, 2011A customer has an ASA5520 and 2 ISP routers with one WAN link each, and wants to split the load over both routers based on source IP ("natted" IP on ASA). I found this excellent doc on the topic: {URL}. Using PBR to achieve this is an option I was looking at, but I have come across a possible loop doing this with 2 routers. Setup:

Both Routers receive default routes via BGP, and customer networks are propagated via BGP as well (i.e. the customer can specify the return path for the traffic). The ASA5520 forwards traffic to a HSRP virtual IP for redundancy purposes. If one router or ISP fails, all the traffic should use the other router/ISP. The customer wants to specify which traffic is sent over which link, by defining nat rules on the ASA. e.g. traffic sourced from the network 10.10.1.0/24 will always use ISP 1, and traffic sourced from the network 10.10.2.0/24 will always use ISP 2.
My problem: if I use route-maps on both routers (CE-1 and CE-2), sending part of the traffic to the other, and one ISP link fails, in my opinion I have a loop, since part of the traffic will get sent back to the router it came from. Is there any other was to achieve my goal without using PBR? I have looked at CEF and GLBP, but I cannot seem to find a way to load share via source IP.

Sep 27, 2012If the load balancing is set to src-dst-ip, will a layer 2 switch forward based on that information? Particularly talking about a 6500, with trunk interfaces, since those packets never go to the layer 3 engine, will the load-balancing work as intended?

1)s0/0/1.1 is the only utilized and s0/0/0.1 utilization is zero. 2)when shutting down s0/0/1.1 : the other ,not utalized, link work perfect and forward all the traffic.

Sep 16, 2012We have our network setup as displayed in the attached. We have 2 HQ offices and 1 branch office. The branch office needs to connect to resources located at both HQs but taking the most effecient path. We have ethernet circuits connecting from each HQ to 2 x Cisco 3560 switches in the branch. HSRP has been configured on the 3560 switches with SW1 as active and SW2 as standby. OSFP has been configured in a single area 0 and the path cost on the link between HQs has been increase to allow 3560 SW1 to route to HQ1 directly and HQ2 via 3560 SW2.The 3560s are connected with a trunk with a L3 SVI for OSPF. This seems to work ok but I have noticed that the branch could become transit if the HQ1 to HQ2 link breaks. How can this be avoided? I realise that if we configure the branch subnets and SW1 to SW2 link in a stub area (area1) then all traffic will route from SW1 to HQ1 and will never share over SW2. I'm assuming that this is because OSPF chooses inter-area routes over intra-area.

Mar 26, 2012I have a internet router 2921 .my isp is providing 100 mbps internet link with static public ip network .I am using a default static route to the isp wan ip .I am planning to upgrade 100 mbps to 114 mbps .Unfortunately my isp doesnt have gig port in their side .So they are ready to provide two 57 mbps line .Isp agreed they will route my public ip networks in both the links .
As a result i have two 54 mbps link with same network with two wan networks .My question is whether two default static route to both wan ip will carry out the load sharing correctly ?

Cisco :: 5508 - DHCP Load Sharing With Redundant Guest Anchor Controllers
Jan 28, 2012I have 2 x Redundant Guest Anchor Controllers (5508) located in 2 separate Data Centers with all the management and guest user VLAN spanned between two. Everything is working fine with the Guest WiFi access except the DHCP functionality as the Controllers are acting themselves as the internal DHCP Servers.
This is how I tried to distribute :
network. 10.1.0.0/23
gateway: 10.1.1.254
Controller 1, DHCP Server pool: 10.1.0.2 - 10.1.0.254 Gw: 10.1.1.254
Controller 2, DHCP Server pool: 10.1.1.2 - 10.1.1.254 Gw: 10.1.1.254
As the user load balancing between the Anchor Controllers cannot be controlled (i.e. they are active/active), the same client sometime getting 2 different IP addresses from both the Controllers (as they do not talk to each other in terms of DHCP) hence depleting the pool addresses.
I guess one way of solving this is to just run 1 DHCP server in one of the controllers but that defeats the purpose of having N+1 Controllers. Is there a better way of doing the DHCP load balancing and having full redundancy at the same time?

Aug 9, 2011Trying to create a network for file sharing, as have upgraded the 'server' (part of a Workgroup, not a Domain) from WinXP to Win7 and experienced problems ever since. Ironically the problems haven't mainly been with sharing files between Win7 and WinXP systems, but between 2 Win7 systems. I bought a new Win7 laptop and tried to connect it to the server, but it hasn't had Read/Write privileges over the files in the Win7 server. Entering a username and password to gain access to the servers folders has not been a problem, and as far as I know, opening files such as documents has not been a problem either. However, when trying to save an edited document, access is denied, and if I try to open an executable file (this is necessary for a node installation), it prompts me for a network password. Every combination possible of username and password from the 2 systems (including '' or 'SYSTEMNAME' before the username) has not worked. I tried syncing the times which was apparently a previous problem, but to no avail. I am unable to access Local Security Policy, as the server is running off Home Premium. I have tried creating a new workgroup, removing and changing passwords, enabling guest access to the network through the Windows Resource Kit Command Shell, creating identical users on both computers, but nothing appears to have worked.

Mar 6, 2012[code] Basically, we used to use Outlook for our customer management, but after I tried to design a custom form for customers that suited our needs better than Outlook's default form (i.e. we don't need state, country, region, etc. for each customer, and we'd prefer to have spots for Roof, Shingle, Shingle color, etc. in their place), we ended up turning OneNote into our new Customer Management System.Our problem is sharing files, and the security or lack thereof that goes along with it.We used to save all the files to a single computer, and use Windows 7 Home group to access them. That worked okay, but often we couldn't see the file-holding computer, and would have to disconnect/reconnect to the internet.
We recently bought a NAS HD, which actually works a lot better than I expected. Unfortunately, we've learned recently that new employees are not always the most trustworthy. So this is what we are trying to do:We want to set up some type of way for us to save, store, and access files, which allows us to keep track of who has done what (access, save, copy, delete, print, etc.), preferably one where we can set up alerts if certain things happen (i.e. someone copies and pastes the entire thing, or attempts to delete). We've run into the problem where, yes, we want people to be able to copy and paste certain documents, yes we want people to be able to print, but no we don't want someone to be able to print out our entire customer lists, current project lists, etc.This NAS HD (MyBook Live 2TB by Western Digital) could quite possibly have the most ridiculous set up I've ever encountered. I can set up accounts and passwords, but they are completely irrelevant because from "Computer" you can just select the z:/ drive and it will still take you to our files. We just brought on a couple new people, and its like, everyone tells them to come to me in regards to the computers, and I can't even hook them up to the internet because it would give them access to our network, which in turn gives them access to our z:/ drive, which contains every file our company has.

I have a little small network created with 6 computers. 5 of them are windows xp home and pro. jsut bought a new laptop with windows 7 64 bit home pre. All the xp laptops can share files easily but the windows 7 is giving me a really hard time.
The win xp computers can see the windows 7 folders showing up in my network places but when i try and open then it gives me this error "\toshibapictures is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource. contact the administrator of theis server to find out if you have permissions"

Jul 19, 2011Before I moved home I had one netgear router supplied by virgin media. On my home network I had my pc sharing it's printer and also some shared folders I.e. Music folder, my documents etc. Now I've moved I have had a new netgear box supplied by virgin media (which I call virgin media 7) which because of the shape of the building doesn't reach my bed room. To fix this I have had to connect my old netgear box (which I call virgin media 8) to the new one via 10m of CAT5e but now I can't access my shared printer or shared folders on my win xp pc which is connected to virgin media 7 via wireless if my vista laptop is connected to virgin media 8. I have tried looking in the setting for the option that makes it just act as an wireless extention to vm7 but they have removed the menu from the settings.

Jul 5, 2011recently i was trying to share files between two computers using a networking switch.(windows xp) I tried using network setup wizard on the host computer it only gave me two drive options f drive and the floppy disc drive. so i selected f drive to copy files. I inserted a cd and clicked next but nothing happened. i tried clicking format button and it asked me to 'insert a cd to f drive' so I avoided the format button.My computer has a backup system which someone installed and im not too sure about it so I was wondering if f drive was referring to the backup system (sort of looks like an external hard drive with lights on it connected to modem) or maybe referring to usb port. I did not try using my usb yet. The second pc I noticed did not have network setup wizard on control panel and was not sure if i needed it. I heard that a router has a firewall and is more safer than using a networking switch. at this stage i dont need internet connection for the second pc

Apr 21, 2013Im on windows 7, I was able to view people on the network, able to access their public folders, but all of a sudden when I click on network, it just says at the top "Network Discovery and file sharing are turned off. Network computers and devices are not visible, Click to change..." I click on it and it doesn't do anything at all, same message comes on. SO i thought Ill change the settings, I see that Network Discovery is off so I turn them both on, save changes and then try again, same message appears, I go back to settings and see that they are switched off again, it doesn't stay on.
