I just installed a 886 router. I noticed that the xDSL CD light is flashing... slow then fast. I am assuming the DSL line is not syncing up. How do I go about diagnosing the problem. I am connecting to an ATT dsl equipment.
My main Internet connection is a frontier modem /router It is on the main level of the house. In the basement I am trying to set up the cisco E3000 through an Ethernet cable.
Often my router drops connection to all my devices. Multiple times a day. It's only for a minute or so, but it's annoying. I'm using a Linksys Wireless-N router (WRT160N) with WEP encryption. I'm running two Windows 7 laptops, LG BluRay player, Apple TV, Xbox 360 (Wired) iPhone 4, and a iPad 2. It doesn't matter if I'm browsing the web, watching Netflix, or playing a game, the connection gets lost. As we speak it happened again. I have no clue on what to do. I've reconfigured it multiple times. Firmware has been updated months ago.

I am having problems with my TL-MR3420 router, it disconnects WIFI all the time. My ZTE MF 631 dongle gives me a strong signal and stable connection and rarely loses connecton when plugged directly into my laptop. With my MR-3420 V2 losses connection, duration only lasts for about 2 to 3 minutes. I have to power off/on the router and turn off/on the wireless button on the laptop to restore connection or manually disconnect in the web interface of MR -3420 and reconnect.
Even i tried the changing channel bandwidth and channel, still no luck. Router settings is pretty much default, expect security key. I have quite recently upgraded to the latest firmware but the problem seem not to have been resolved.
A pen test has shown I have crackable transform set on my firewall. I can see the config this relates to and do have higher encryption available. What I dont want to do is remove it until I know my remote sites are not using it.does any one know a command that shows all the policies/encrption in use?

So my case is: computer from router1's network can ping 192.168.222.2 (router2 -FastEthernet0/0.197 )computer from router2 network can ping 192.168.232.18 (router1- FastEthernet0/0.380),but can't ping 10.132.1.126 (router1- FastEthernet0/0.382).
How can i connect vlan 380 and vlan382.I want the three vlan to see each other.Is this happen with IRB or not?

i just managed to config the Cisco 877 and send it to my client,when the client connect the router from his location the router can't make VPN connection to my HQ office,i can connect to the router using the external IP adress,i tried to reset the VPN tunnel but no avail,
I created the VPN between WRCS4400N and Fortinet 111c and tunnel is up. When i am pinging my cisco subnet (10.0.20.0) from fortinet, its pinging. But when i am pinging fortinet (10.0.1.8) or any ip of this subnet from cisco router its not pinging.I have real IP on my Fortinet and dyndns on Cisco Router. I need some clarification if it is possible to do an IPL connection between Cisco 2801 (T1) to Cisco 1841 (E1) via Ethernet (2801) to Serial (1841).
I am unable to find any documentation about this and I need to connect our network to our overseas office.
Our side uses the 1841 router and our provider has set-up our E1 connection to be via Serial interface while on our overseas office uses the 2801 and will connect via the T1 card, which by the way does not have any serial interface ports just ethernets.
So far checking on how to configure this, I am unsure on how the connection will happen since the info that I got is that T1 does not have the option to hold an IP address (also unsure on this though). With this in mind and that the 2801 does not have serial interfaces, does that mean that IPL connection would be via the available Ethernet ports?
I have a RV042 VPN Router inside an ASA 5505 running version 7.2. I am attempting to connect from the outside to the RV042. I have read for 2 days now and tried everything I have found and had no success. I can connect from inside the network to the RV042 so I know that is setup correctly. I have found links on several posts to the official Cisco support documents but they make no sense to me. This is my first experience with a Cisco Firewall.
We also have a security camera network that we access externally and I have successfully set up the port forwarding for this. Here is my current running configuration. The inside ip address of the RV042 is 192.168.168.25. I had port 1723 forwarded, opened GRE, and have setup PPTP inspection. I have deleted the port forwarding at this point.

I am running a Cisco 878-K9 Router, IOS 12.4(11)T1, as a Firewall with EasyVPNServer. The VPN Server was created with the wizard from the SDM.Everything works fine, BUT the VPN connections fail after about 10 minutes.

Dial-In is successful after Reboot.Now, i want to simulate a conenction fault, e.g. termination by mobile provider.So I used the command "clear int cellular 0".After that, The router can't dial in again.

Is the "clear interface cellular 0" the wrong way to test this, or why can't the Router reconnect?The only solution is a reboot, but that is not the best option. The router should automatically redial.
My computer is says there's no network cable plugged in when i have it plugged in to my smc router but when i plug it into my cable modem i get signal . Ive updated my drivers. my network cable is good i tested it.. all the other computers on the network see the router.

I currently have a d-link DIR-615E3 with the latest dd-wrt firmware (v24 from 2010-12-13). Everything seems to be ok when I boot up the router - with factory settings and unsecured wireless, I have an internet connection. When I enter the GUI, create a router username/password, everything is still fine. Then, when I create a wireless security password (WPA2 personal) I lose internet connection, and the only way to get it back is to do a hard reset of the router. This also happens if I change any setting within the ddwrt interface, not just the wireless settings. (I also have a linksys WRT54GL with ddwrt with absolutely no problems) My cable modem is a motorola surfboard SB5101U, ISP is comcast cable, running windows 7.

Since upgrading to windows 8 a few days ago my router keeps dropping my connection every few minutes . 4 other pc's in the house are fine. Mine has a wooden floor for the signal to pass through, my wifes which is fine has two walls between her and the router.
My TV Ethernet connection to my router, when streaming content from my laptop. When my TV is connected to the router via Ethernet cable and my laptop is connected to the router , O am able to stream media to the TV, but the TV often disconnects itself. I think the router is the problem because when the computer a connected directly (not using the router) It doesn't disconnect. Also another issue when the TV is connected to the router the computer will only connect to the TV if it is connected via an Ethernet cable, It wont through wireless.

I have Verizon Fios. My laptop connects wireless to router and can get to the internet. The laptop can also work wired to router. My desktop connects to router OK, but can't get to internet. I reinstalled IE8. I can put in the router address and connect to router. I can ping between laptop and desktop. IE says it's waiting for whatever address I type in, says Done, then goes waiting for [URL]. It always comes back either The address is not valid, or Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

I have a Virgin Mobile MC760 3G broadband device, I want to share that 3G internet connection with my D-Link DIR-615 router so that I can connect to the 3G over WiFi on my other devices.The host computer that the 3G device would be plugged into is running Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 2.I realize that they do sell 3G routers but I would like to use the D-Link DIR-615 that I already have to avoid buying another router. I also realize that it may be easier to share the connection by creating a wireless network on the host computer and then enable internet sharing, I don't want to do this I need to share the connection through the router.

I changed my ISP (I don't know if that has anything to do with it).I have my network setup so I have a seperate modem (tp-link td-8616), which is connected to my router (asus wl-520gu) and do most of my computing from my computer (running Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium, wired network). I had installed tomato firmware onto my router, which was working fine with my first ISP. I changed companies about a week ago, and noticed my connection kept being dropped. At first, I thought it was an issue with my ISP, so I called them up, and didn't find a solution.
Afterwards, I started doing some trouble shooting on my own, and noticed my modem was still connected (via the WAN LED, at least), even though my router disagreed. So, I tried connecting directly to my modem and my connection would be fine without any issue at all, so I thought I'd trouble shoot the router. I switched back to the factory asus firmware, connected it back to my modem, and after a while, it disconnected my LAN connection again. My router comes with this somewhat annoying interface that tells me the issue is "You have set the wrong dynamic or static IP address for your wl-520gu." So, I investigate that, and here is the setup:
My modem is statically 192.168.1.1 when I directly connect to it, so I left that setting alone.My router is also 192.168.1.1, but this was how tomato worked, so I'm not sure that this is the conflict, so I tried setting it to 192.168.1.2, which does not seem to fix the problem.My DHCP settings are set so connecting computers are 192.168.1.100-254, which should avoid the conflicts.
I have a problem with my router not connecting to a modem I know is working when connecting a computer directly to the modem it works fine, but when connecting via the router there is absolutely no internet access, and multiple unplugging and resetting the router to factory defaults and resetting it up hasn't worked.
So I have been trying to resolve this issue I have to no avail. Right now I am considering downgrading to a DIR-615 but having issues there and that is another story.
My computers speed test at 15+ megs no problems. I can stream Netflix on Xbox no problem as well as my BD player hooked wireless. All no issues, I have no disconnect issues with the router at all. In fact, it has run flawless since purchase and it has current 2.05NA firmware. Anyway, the problem I have is the PS3. I speed test the PS3 and I am getting 4 megs download at best. Up load is around 1. My friend, who is with the IP as me, Comcast, same internet package and we both have dedicated internet. His will speed test at 12 + and averages about 8 on a Saturday night.
I have had disconnects on the PS3 and I am sure it is due to this low bandwidth. I have messed with the DMZ with no success. I am about to try reserving the static IP I will create as soon as PSN is back up. My firends router is a DIR-615. Why would my (supposedly) uber router cut my broadband like this on the PS3?
Yes, I hooked PS3 up to modem direct and tested at 12.5megs dwn and 3-4 up I think Type1 NAT. Which tells me I am direct to a modem. Put my expensive router in the mix and it drops back to 4. All in all I am happy with this router, just this one issue. No I do not have it in QoS and see no reason to put it in there honestly. Plus, I doubt it would make it better being that I can get the 12 with it being connected to modem.
